I think it's not the end of the group, it turns out that after the release of still life everyone was thinking that it was the end of BIGBANG and YG's stock was going down so YG had to come out and say that this is not the end of BIGBANG it's a new beginning for the group, , a new beginning of a bigbang with four members.......although of course now the members have new individual and group goals so we will surely have to wait a while for another BIGBANG comeback

Probably one of the shitiest things covid did! It was supposed to be the biggest event for us fans and them.. now it feels like the culmination of their careers with the group and moving on to their own careers or life. Tho i wanted it to end on a high note instead of this, a final album should be fitting for that! I hope we get that

In March 2016 XIN (who was a stylist at YG and a close friend of Big Bang) got busted for smoking marijuana in Tokyo. (He had also been caught smoking cocaine in Cali back in 2014 - and there were big fears that the drug scandal would end up involving kpop idols because he was close friends with several.) This is literally the only song I've been listening to all day and everytime GD'S part comes in after TOP'S verse, i cry even more. This song is already making me cry from the moment Taeyang starts the song off but Idk, i just love a guitar instrumental in a song, there's just so much rawness and vulnerability to it. But Daesung and TOP took it home for me 😭😭😭. And watching the reactions of veteran kpop fans and hardcore VIP'S just hits different and it makes the experience of listening to Still Life even more beautiful and bittersweet than it already is ❤ So thank you thank you for waiting and remaining hopeful for the boys 😭😭
There’s the 4 chairs, they left for their own stories (hopefully for now). One day, I hope they will comeback together and sit on those chairs reminiscence about their old- “new” journey (since it’s the future for us but will be the past then).

The chair which is shown in the GD's set is a prop of his set showing his story taking us through his solo concert reference, the VIP reference if you see the yellow lights in the back. Each member has a different set, weather and story which they're representing. I get why VIPs might think it's for Seungri but it's not as that was a symbolism for how they're gonna walk their own paths for a while and then comeback, that seat being seungri who has retired from the industry doesn't make sense to any story or symbolism the group might wanna potray through the song.

At the same time... I also feel like this is enough. I want them to be happy. Whatever that means for them. I want to wish them well.
Listening to this song, I realised that you never truly get over your first love. My heart was similarly pounding when the countdown to the premier started and then I lost a sense of time as soon as Taeyang came onto my screen and started singing (I think I went into legit shock). I only took in what was happening when I watched for the second time lol.
I haven't really watched reaction videos to Still Life until recently but one thing I noticed from all VIP reactors (I mean, you can tell which ones are VIPs and which ones are just Kpop fans or just reactors in general) is the way they (we) look at Bigbang in this MV. There's a certain longing in the eyes, and very focused to the point of trying not to blink. I still cry no matter how many times I've seen this mv or hear the song on Spotify but I'm happy watching VIP reactions because I don't feel so alone with this feeling for Bigbang. I just realized something. Thats why the song is called "Still Life". If you look it up, Still Life is a genre in the arts. A painting or drawing of objects like flowers, etc. Its like Bigbang wants to capture their years as Bigbang and preserve it in a painting, but in this case, in a song. Its impossible to control time as it passes by, but you sure can preserve it. Instead of referring to the past as "years", they instead used the 4 seasons (which makes up 1year) to describe the good and the bad they went through since they started. Theres a lot to unpack in here actually. They showered easter eggs all over the place. Oh btw, I do think they grew their hair on purpose, which symbolizes the time passed. I’m only watching the og kpop reactors knowing that they’ve seen big bang for a long time and the emotions are raw and familiar… This is growth and we all move towards a new chapter of our lives, but I’m grateful for this to be the stepping stone for us to grow.
TOP is the one that hits me the hardest even though Taeyang is my ultimate bias and the one that got me into kpop. We haven’t seen TOP in anything other than his random insta updates. When he sang “For lifeee” and we saw his face that’s when I started crying for real. When everything happened and he finished his military service, he said he would never sing again and my heart truly broke. My first reaction is exactly like you. I feel warm and gratitude for them for finally willing to release song for us, the waiting fans. I didn't realize it at first that it's actually a sad and goodbye song? Many people say so and after multiple hearing I think so too. but for me, it's a goodbye to their past youth, the glory on stage and the painful mistakes, goodbye to all the memories throughout the seasons. The fact that hurt me is, there is no a single OT4 scene after a long wait of so many years 😭 But the song itself is just ART.

The chair which is shown in the GD's set is a prop of his set showing his story taking us through his solo concert reference, the VIP reference if you see the yellow lights in the back. Each member has a different set, weather and story which they're representing. I get why VIPs might think it's for Seungri but it's not as that was a symbolism for how they're gonna walk their own paths for a while and then comeback, that seat being seungri who has retired from the industry doesn't make sense to any story or symbolism the group might wanna potray through the song.

BigBang is on a level where they just make music that they want. This comeback really feels like a fulfilled promise. Would it hurt if this were a "goodbye" rather than "see you later", yes. But. At the same time... I also feel like this is enough. I want them to be happy. Whatever that means for them. I want to wish them well.
Listening to this song, I realised that you never truly get over your first love. My heart was similarly pounding when the countdown to the premier started and then I lost a sense of time as soon as Taeyang came onto my screen and started singing (I think I went into legit shock). I only took in what was happening when I watched for the second time lol.
I haven't really watched reaction videos to Still Life until recently but one thing I noticed from all VIP reactors (I mean, you can tell which ones are VIPs and which ones are just Kpop fans or just reactors in general) is the way they (we) look at Bigbang in this MV. There's a certain longing in the eyes, and very focused to the point of trying not to blink. I still cry no matter how many times I've seen this mv or hear the song on Spotify but I'm happy watching VIP reactions because I don't feel so alone with this feeling for Bigbang. Like, I'm not [crazy] because others feel the same way.

I just realized something.
Thats why the song is called "Still Life".
If you look it up, Still Life is a genre in the arts. A painting or drawing of objects like flowers, etc.
Its like Bigbang wants to capture their years as Bigbang and preserve it in a painting, but in this case, in a song.
Its impossible to control time as it passes by, but you sure can preserve it.
Instead of referring to the past as "years", they instead used the 4 seasons (which makes up 1year) to describe the good and the bad they went through since they started.
Theres a lot to unpack in here actually. They showered easter eggs all over the place.

My first reaction is exactly like you. I feel warm and gratitude for them for finally willing to release song for us, the waiting fans. I didn't realize it at first that it's actually a sad and goodbye song? Many people say so and after multiple hearing I think so too. but for me, it's a goodbye to their past youth, the glory on stage and the painful mistakes, goodbye to all the memories throughout the seasons. And I totally agree with you about your belief that bigbang will comeback, it's just a matter of when, not a yes or no.

And you know, since 2017 i have never actually seen a release by them but i listened to each of their songs and i felt that there was respect and admiration for the artists who were there.
