I specifically chose Hellspawn Liu Kang due to recent developments in MKX, I wanted him to face Evil Ryu to make this a battle of Evil vs. Evil. Most say Ryu won't stand a chance but keep in mind Hellspawn Liu Kang is not like Noob Saibot or Hellspawn Scorpion....Further I should note Hellspawn Liu Kang lacks most of the abilities Hellspawn Scorpion has. (That includes Netherrealm increase.) But will he still stand a chance?

While I do prefer Liu Kang over Ryu overall, I do prefer Evil Ryu to Revenant Liu Kang. I really felt that Liu Kang, like so many of the other zombified Earthrealm combatants, just kind’ve felt like a dull glorified henchman. At least with the other glorified minions in the game, like Erron Black and Ferra/Torr, you got entertaining personalities.
Leumas von Vladimir To be technical Liu Kangs not a Zombie. He is a "Hellspawn" which is corrupt personification of his soul in flesh form come to life. He was only "Zombie" in the original timeline

2. Ryu Raging Demon destroys the soul, which Liu Kang or any other hellspawn/revenant cannot recover.
