@@hfar_in_the_sky That was the infamous global warming allegory where warp drive was revealed to be damaging to the fabric of reality. This episode just retconned that to being a rumor spread by the Vendorians. Which is hilarious.
@@thiagodeandrade7081 Global Warming happens on the scale of geologic time, 500 to 1000 years, you must always the science, that is what is, skepticism not dogmatic thinking.
Knowing the Vendorians (at least according to LD anyways) they probably really DID make a flat Earth somewhere, then beamed that into the heads of conspiracy nuts on our round Earth.
LOL, I love how Boimler's take-away is "I guess I've learned...I don't know. Not to yell at you? I don't know." Dude's clearly still a ridiculous lunatic even if he was once, by sheer dumb luck, actually (partially) correct about something XD
Pitch Meeting Godzilla Vs Kong: “Because I feel it’s important to put a positive spin on conspiracy theorists, especially in this day and age. Really make them out to be heroes!” “Ehhhhhhhh….!”
Lol he thinks Picard is a hologram? I gotta watch this episode. I love the concept of people on Star Fleet being conspiracy theorists. Edit: “in” also what do you mean Rutherford got pregnant with a clone baby in this episode.
I love this entire episode since it is hte most META of any Lower Decks episode. It's a "cave episode" about "cave episode" that's also a flashback/clip episode. Cave episodes are the Star Trek "bottle episodes" designed to save money and reduce the number of cast, costumes, makeup, etc. A clip/flashback episode is also supposed to save money. Both used here as a parody of such.
Vendorians, "You have failed our test."
Also Vendorians, "Failing our test was a test."
Kobayashi Maru anyone?
@@stanislavkostarnov2157 Has anyone ever actually taken that test, except that they did so on the Klingon side?
You can really feel the promotion with the increased Biomler kidnappings and all
I got like a minute into this and was like
"BOIMLER IS TELLING OFF A CONSPIRACY NUT!"
I gotta wait for the actual episode.
Oh my god, they retconned Force of Nature in the most hilarious way.
Yay! 😂😂😂
I never watched that episode. How'd they retcon it?

Was it Global Warming the concern at that point rather than deterioration in general of the environment by industrial society?

Levy is basically the equivalent in the future of a Flat Earther, that just happened to be right one time.
Or the Virus of Unspecified origins conspiracy theorists who happened to be right about 95% of things...
@@julianmarco4185if your talking about COVID-19 that 95% was self fulfilling prophecies.
Literally, anything conspiracy nut, not just Flat Earthers.
So, one more time than actual Flat Earthers?

the vendorian leader sounds like captain freeman. i feel like it was a team building exercise gone wrong xD

I recognize Freeman and Shaxs’ voices among the Vendorians. How do we know the bridge crew aren’t messing with the Lower Deckers again?
Because if they heard half the stuff Levy believed they'd have kicked him out of Starfleet by now.
i definitely think it was a team building exercise gone wrong xD
Did you also know that Shax… is voicing Levy?
It’s good to see actually alien looking aliens in Star Trek instead of humans in makeup

for once the conspiracy guy came in handy
Hold up, didn't Boimler JUST get captured last week? 😅
It's Starfleet. This kind of thing happens all the time.
@@shaftoe195 Boimler didn't even give a damn about being a hostage to someone he personally pissed off. Probably happens to them every other day.
Boimler is the designated obligatory ‘damsel in distress’ character after all. Have you not heard his shrill screams? 😂
@@ladymecha8718 imagine if his VA recreated the boimler scream in the superman cartoon

😂 why wasn't Levy in the final episode when Boimler and Rutherford were talking about Tom Paris and Locarno?! SUCH A MISSED OPPORTUNITY.

I think the same thing happened to Trip in Enterprise.
Dawnn Lewis is doing the voice of theVendorian.
Considering how the vendorisns didn't lay eggs in thier throats his beliefs aren't nearly as dangerous as some of our real world beliefs.
0:50 Man, that's gonna set back the therapy.
Maybe Vendorians are the ones who founded/run Cognito Inc?
😂 Does anyone else notice the pregnant vendurian? Does anyone else think the Vendurians kind of played along?
2:27 A good moral lesson, to be sure, lol.
I swear that one vendorian sounds like cap freeman.
So warp drive doesn't harm space?!
