Thanks!
Got you in for 1 in February. Thanks for the support.
New riff imo is the new budget bourbon king. There single barrells for 50ish dollars are very very good.
That's for bourbon only. I haven't had any of there ryes yet
I was very impressed and love the price. Looking forward to trying more from them
The New Riff distillery is local to me, so it is on every shelf around here. If you ever find their Balboa rye there grab all you can afford. You will not regret it.
I will keep an eye out for it. Thanks for letting me know. Cheers!
Where is this?
I have and truly enjoy their malted rye and their 8 year rye. The downside of New Riff is the top half of the bottle is painted black and you never know how much is left in the bottle until it's at the bottom and then I'm sad!
I was impressed with the malted rye. Actually I was impressed with all of them except the single barrel rye and that was still okay. Just make sure you have a backup so you are not sad for long. 🤪
I like the single barrel bourbon, 8 year bourbon, and the malted rye. I’ve tried single barrel rye. It’s ok. Apricot heavy on the pick I have. Saw the 8 year rye, but passed on it.
I'm definitely going to be looking for other bottles for sure. They showed me enough to keep going with them.
Those all sound amazing!
I've wanted to try a 100% MALTED RYE for a while now, just could't muster up the courage for fear of being disappointed. Well, your 2nd place NEW RIFF is going to be it. Thanks Peter 🥃!!!
The malted rye was good. I didn't think I've never had one before. Maybe a sample of the Hard Truth from stuff and whiskey but I'm not exactly sure.
Loved the 8 year
Have had all of these. Love the single barrels. For the price, the juice is totally worth the squeeze. Looking forward to trying their Balboa soon
I'm looking forward to trying anything new from them. I'm sold. Good stuff. Cheers!
You've never had New Riff??😮
Well, welcome aboard!! 😆
Here in CT we finally got them in 2019 or 2020 (hard to remember exactly) but before that I had to order bottles online and get em shipped to me. My first experience was a 3.5 year old single barrel bourbon picked by Justins' House of Bourbon that was love at first sip. Been cheering them on ever since.
Cheers Peter and hope you get chances to try more of them in the near future.
I am definitely going to explore more from them. The single barrel bourbon was enough to sell me on them.
I don’t drink gin but I was surprised to see that new riff also makes gin they make a normal clear gin and then they make a slightly aged gin that’s kinda straw colored. I purchased their single barrel bourbon and I was impressed for the price it has a lot going on on the palate for sure!
I was happy with the price and variety. Now I'm looking forward to trying more. I think I've had gin once in my life so I can't comment on that. Cheers!
6yr malted rye that you have is a great pour. It is crushable at the lower proof point, but it is nuanced and always pleasing.
I liked it and nuanced is a good description for it. Cheers!
Great blind. I’m a huge New Riff fan. I was at the distillery 2xs in 2024. And it doesn’t hurt to have Party Source next to it
Now that I'm retired I think I'll be taking a trip to the bourbon trail
I’ve had single barrel store picks that are fig, molasses and dark fruit deliciousness. Incredible bottles when done right.
I am looking forward to trying more from them and the price is right. Cheers!
Thanks for the video.
Ive only tried their standard bourbon and their malted rye. I found the bourbon to be slightly better than average, but the malted rye is really good.
Oh, and their gin is pretty good too.
Cheers
I was impressed with it. I definitely have to try more. Cheers!
Great flight!
I enjoyed it! I'm new to New Riff and I'll continue to look for other offerings. Cheers!
Love New Riff single barrels. Even with your Arizona price being about $10 higher than Missouri, it's a great value.
Keep an eye out for the 8 year (maybe even a 9 year in 2025).
I hear really good things about the sherry finish malted rye too, but haven't seen that one yet.
I will be looking out for more bottles. They are good enough to keep trying. Cheers!
Love New Riff. Very well put together BiB bourbon and their single barrel bourbons are great value. I am not a rye guy.
The value of these bottles are good. I'm definitely looking forward to trying more from them.
@ congrats on your retirement. Enjoy the next chapter. And may that also include Little Book…haha
I've got a few from New Riff (luckily the distillery is practically in my back yard) and the single barrel bourbons are all top notch, particularly the picks. They contend with bottles that cost two and three times the price. Really hoping they do some single barrels of their 8yr bourbon.
I'm impressed with what I had and like that they didn't cost a ton. Cheers
(Virginia) I just bought the standard bourbon and standard rye. Both are reasonably priced, but neither really impress enough to leap them above other similarly priced offerings. I love your review. Thanks.
Thanks! I think they showed me enough to keep me interested and try more from them. Nothing spectacular, but good enough. Cheers!
Single barrels are the way to go for the standard bourbon and rye mashes. But I understand where you are coming from. Like when I want to delve into a new to me Scotch distillery, the typical move is to go with their entry level product to get a feel for what they are doing. However, it's so often the least interesting of what a distillery is truly capable of. Hope you give em a second chance with something with a bit more punch to it. Cheers.
I just got the 8 yr Rye and it’s fabulous!
My first bottle was standard bottle straight bourbon and I got hooked.
Market place is in McAllen, Texas.
Safe to say I am hooked as well. Cheers!
Being more of a malt guy, I was actually pretty impressed by New Riff's single malt.
When I see it I'm going to give it a try. Cheers!
Nice review! I enjoy the 8yr bourbon and SB bourbon quite a bit! 8yr rye is decent and the small batch is nice! Cheers!
I'm going to keep exploring them now that they're being distributed to AZ.
The malted rye sherry finish is delicious, same with the winter whisky.
Those sound delicious. I'll keep an eye out. Cheers!
I'd never tried anything New Riff, but as a bourbon guy, my local shop owner offered me a bottle of the 8-year BiB bourbon.
On first drink it was okay. But, the second drink was a few days later and I really liked it. A good bottle for $65.
The price is a big draw to the brand. Couple that with good whiskey and it got me.
The single barrel is fantastic.
It was a standout in this flight. At least the bourbon was. Cheers!
How funny, I had a pour of my New Riff SB sour mash bourbon 111.9 pf. last night. I probably hadn't touched it in 3 months, not because I don't like it, I'm just conserving it till I get another. Really like my bottle I got online cause OR St doesn't have it.
I really enjoyed this flight. I'm sold. Cheers!
If you get the chance to get the Balboa Rye it's probably my favorite next to the Silver Grove bourbon.
However I have not had the 8 year yet. Cheers 🍻
I'll keep looking for more from them. I like what I had for sure.
@whiskeyisajourney once in a while you'll get one of the single barrels that just doesn't match your pallet, but over all their very good. I live about 25 miles from the distillery, which has the Party Source in the same parking lot.
Cheers 🍻
I like them all but I’m a big rye drinker. Had their winter whiskey it was fantastic but you have to like malt. 🥃🥃🥃
I am certainly going to keep looking for different bottles from them. I liked this flight. Not spectacular, but good enough to keep my interest.
New Riff is one of those brands that I hear a lot about but have not found a bottle I love. It's ok, not something I'm excited about.
I was intrigued by the malted rye and the single barrel bourbon exceeded my expectations especially at the price. It's unfortunate it didn't excite your palate.
When it's a blend win, credit taken. When not so much, Tony who?
Take the wins when you can. Cheers Tony!
@whiskeyisajourney also agreed. Good blend philosophy, good life philosophy.
have single barrels have been good have 8 yr have not cracked it yet
I'll be trying more from them that's for sure. Cheers!
So, these are a brand New Riff for you?
8 yr BiB!!
Thanks!
You are in for another one. Cheers!
