@@MikeyVenture No spoilers, but what she said to Scanlan and Vax are the two most severe of the insecurities she exposes. Scanlan is terrified that he means nothing to anyone.
Yeah, the scene with Earthbreaker Groon felt very anime. Travis (Grog) being a big fan of Dragon Ball probably had something to do with that. Btw, Earthbreaker Groon is a monk, a DnD class you haven't seen in the show yet. Long story short, they're martial artists, and have no problem fighting with no weapons nor armor.
Groon is perfect. Just perfect. And his speech to Grog is taken straight up from the campaign. I absolutely love how Kashaw is trying to be badass and intimidating and then immediately crumbles when Vex gets too close to him :DDD Zahra is a tiefling, in dnd terms that means she has a blood of fiends (usually devils) in her bloodline or maybe someone from her ancestors was transformed into a tiefling by a very, very powerful magic and then passed this blood down on generations (this case is rarer but also can happen). Hey, you`ve met Victor the blackpowder merchant! I love him, I *hope* he`s okay and we`ll see him again, because it`s a huge disservice to his character to be only in one scene. I also love how they`ve started to concentrate on a more protective and merciful side of Pike, I love her badassery in the first season, but she`s a servant to a good goddess of mercy and healing, and this was kind of overlooked in the first season.
Kashaw and Zahra are some of the guest characters seen in campaign 1, theyre like top 3 in terms of how memorable they are, the other top 3 one goes to a character that was only around for a little bit but pulled off one of the craziest moves in D&D history Also, just look up the compilation of Victor scenes, it's not very spoiler heavy and has some of Matt Mercer's best character acting ever.
I love your reactions. I know you said you didn't see anything from Critical Role. But there are some short videos that parallel the specific moments of the role-playing campaign and the animated series, highly recommended. As someone who did watch Critical Role campaigns 1 and 2, I am in awe of how nailed the animation is (although there are slight variations to fit the 115 episodes into what will be, for now, 3 seasons of Vox Machina). I'm glad you're enjoying this show.

It's not so much Vasselheim doesn't want to get involved. They've been around since the gods were at war with each other, and they've survived it all. They're the humanity still exists. As scary as the Conclave is, it's terrifying to me that the dragons are small fries. They're all about the survival, and they only deal with what comes to their doorstep. The Take is a combination of mercenary guild and acquirer of magical beast parts. The rakshasa (tiger person) from last season was actually a contract kill for the Take in the actual stream. To steal from the Take is a huge deal. That's because a magically binding contract is signed when someone hires the Take to kill and acquire parts. If they fail to do it, then there are major consequences. When the twins stole the bounty, they caused the Take to fail the contract.
I have two theories for that. Either 1. He's a bear. Wearing armor. Having a bear wearing armor walking around town would be a bit unsettling. Or 2. Animating him walking is a pain in the patootie.
Zahra, the red horned lady is a tiefling. They’re humanoid descendants of devils, often with colorful skin, horns and tails.
This is my favorite episode so far. Osysa's VA did an amazing job making her sound ancient and all-knowing. The dig at Scanlan was the most brutal.
I felt that so much when she said that to him. It was so blunt 😂

I mean, Mama Imelda has that effect.

He's plenty more chances to learn from his mistakes. 😂

I loved the animation they used while Osysa explained the vestiges
Voice actor for Earthbreaker Groon is Ike Amadi, known for playing Spartan Locke in Halo 5 and Atriox in Halo Infinite.
Matt Mercer was the guard at the beginning.
11:57 i love the ‘well damn’ lmao

Why does Trinket needs to stay outside every time?
I have two theories for that.
Either
1. He's a bear. Wearing armor. Having a bear wearing armor walking around town would be a bit unsettling.
Or
2. Animating him walking is a pain in the patootie.
He’s wearing armor, and Vex doesn’t have the right to armed bears.
You can tame a lion dosen't mean they'll let you have him just roaming around the city
cause cities are unable to deal with the best boi around
Trinket has better manners than Grog or Scanlan
I believe in the right to Arm Bears
