Yet another great song from Morrissey. How many great songs has he written and sung now -- I've lost count. Let's just say he's something really special! :0)
One of my favourite Morrissey songs, I requested it, I believe more than once, but I won't have been the only one. Do check out the extended version sometime as well. Great reaction, thanks Nick!
I remember when this came out and its hard to believe it was the only single off of "Bona Drag", which is a great album. "Last of the Famous International Playboys", is another great track with the signature Morrissey moments throughout.
To hear more 'palare' (gay code) you could check out Julian and Sandy from the old comedy radio show Round The Horne. Those characters still make me laugh.
Just google polarari - which was gay slang so people who were gay could talk without revealing themselves when in it was still a criminal offense in the fifties and sixties in the UK'.
It’s pronounced pollaray. It was used between gay men,so police didn’t know what they were talking about.Piccadilly is an area of Manchester city centre.
Yes but this Picadilly refers to Picadilly in London as there was a tabloid exposure in the seventies about the 'meat rack' of rent boys outside the tube station.
one of my favourite Morrissey songs ever its incredable love it

Hairdresser On Fire is another fun song from this Bona Drag. It was a bonus track from the U.S. release of Viva Hate.

This is an exellent Morrissey song, i remember this coming out way back in 1990,ive played this track so many times and i never tire of it💯
suggs of madness does the talking part in the middle of the song.
All the songs on this album are incredible: Lucky Lisp, November spawned a monster, Hairdressed on fire....
I think you would really enjoy Lucky Lisp and/or Disappointed. Both great Morrissey tracks. Thanks.
Lyrical genius, The Smiths and Morrissey, both superb!
Nick you ain't insignificant! Love your work.
From Australia
Such a little thing is fantastic too.
I enjoyed watching you appreciate this.
Underrated track. Morrissey is always dismissive of it but I love it
I'm commenting on this before watching - people may or may not know that Madness frontman Suggs appears on this.
have you ever thought about collabing with Anthony Fantano?
Only every single day of my life.
