I remember being impressed as a child at how Baltar, despite being a villain, a loser, and being played as a fiddle by the Cylons at first, is anyways displayed as having enough willpower and determination as to rehabilitate himself his crippled leg (for those who haven't watched the series, that's what he's doing when walking circles around his "throne room"). Good villains make for good stories.
@@williamlangley2044 I saw it. Threece. First when the series was first aired in Spain in 1979. Second when it was re-aired ten years later. Third, when I managed to get hold of the whole series on videotape (yeah, old school, we're talking 90s here). That's part of what Baltar is. He is a survivor, beneath that villainy and stupidity. If begging is what it takes to survive, he begs. If maning the fuck up is what it takes to survive, he MTFU-es. And so on. That's what makes him interesting. One-dimensional villains are unable to switch betwen both registers. Baltar was the first such more-than-one-dimensional villain I saw as a child. And still he's a moron and a loser 🙂
William Daniels !!! He was the actor who portrayed the clown !!! 😮 I knew I recognized him!! If you watched Buck Rogers in the 25th century 's episode " Vegas in Space ", there was a scene where Buck enters the casino. If you look closely in the background, one of the background actors wore a BLACK LEATHER JACKET and a RED TURTLE NECK SWEATER !!!
Baltar: "Engage the Squadron to attack Galactica". Lusifer: " But, Baltar we just disengaged Squadron." Baltar" It will drive Adama crazy." (evil smirk) Lucifer: " He's not the Only one...By your Command."
Jonathan Harris is known by Original Series enthusiasts as the actor who provided the voice of Lucifer, the IL-series Cylon. He may be best known as the villainous Dr. Zachary Smith in the TV series Lost in Space.
lol 6:11. lol When lucifer would mock Baltar's failed plans. Cylons looked like super machines. Original Battlestar Galactica was awesome. Galactica 1980 was not good.
OMG is Shirley the vampire Lara Parker of Dark Shadows fame? OMG IT IS AND AS A VAMPIRE LOL😂😂😂 Roger Davis and Dana Elcar too. Im gonna have to get this now ❤❤❤😂😂
Recognise the the voice of Imperious Leader: Patrick MacNee. Also played John Steed in The Avengers '60 spy series. Lucifer voiced by: Jonathan Harris, Dr Smith from the Lost in Space series."Oh! The Pain!"
"Apparently it was not as big a surprise as we had hoped for." 😂 "You humans are emotional about our having destroyed you." 😂 "I may not find your incessant talk fascinating, but at least i dont walk off." 😂
Ohhh he was so delightfully eeeeeeeeeeeevil. The one and only, the Legend himself, John Colicos I did like the cylons in the original BSG, I always got the feeling they were humouring Baltar. They really just wanted to let the Fleet leave but Baltar's ego kept them going. "It's Impossible!" "No, it is a Battlestar" Even toasters can BURN 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
The reboot was really good, but sadly lacking in lines like "Apparently it was not as big a surprise as we had hoped for" 🤣 I cried laughing the first time I heard it and it still makes me smile 45 odd years later.
Yeah the human clones were a over done... this was more fun... the worst part was all the unessary sex and rape stuff... I prefer this original show because it still had Lasers and all the ships were designed by the famous Ralph McCrory who did the entire look of the original StarWars trilogy
Damn youuuuu! You infected me! After the BRILLIANT reboot I lost all interest in this original show---until now! I wanna watch it SO BAD! The reboot may have been superior in refining the concept and the general treatment, but the old show had so much more scope; anything could happen in the original show.
oh i didnt do anything, the clips from TOS are from the bluray remasters. the 1980 clips are from the dvd release bc nobody cares abt that show's quality, and the reboot clips are from streaming
So has am I the only one who wondered what the Cylon leaders all did up on their high throne room chairs when nobody else was in the room? Did they just sit there and stared off into space, or what?
Ok, so here's a question, how the hell does Baltar live on a base ship? It's not like they would have had a need to have food, or beds, or a BATHROOM, let alone relaxation for a human!
Best guess? The bed part isn't difficult, since they use cloth-like materials as it is. Bathroom, also not terribly hard - the 'shower' could be a Zero-G or Low Water type, the waste removal system like the kind our astronauts use. Food is the only hard part, and I can take a guess that they serve some kind of nutrient paste of different textures and densities, with loads of artificial flavors.
Being scientific really, not sarcastic lol..but when the centurion gets up on the horse..wouldn't his heavy metallic weight ACTUALLY break that fucking poor horses back??!!like CRUNCH!! (Painful Neigh Scream) as soon as he got up top??just noticed it,never thought of it..🤣🤦♂️🤷♂️✌️🍻🤟
Nope. Have you heard of knights? If you take the weight of the armor, the well-fed, well-muscled knight itself, its heavy saddle (that weight some 15 more kilograms than a modern saddle), and its weapons, horses have proved to be able to carry 170+ Kg of rider and equipment with no problem. And Centurion Cylons are stated to weight 150 Kg. Perfectly believable.
@@notfeedynotlazy 🤔🤔🤔hmmm..learn something new everyday lol!! Well I know what I'm gonna do for Halloween, dress up as a Centurion,and ride in on a 🏇...hell yh!!Thnx!! 🌈the more u know 🌟 😜😂🤣👍🍻🤘✌️
Really wish this show had gotten at least a second season, a real one, not the 80s reboot crap. Sure its dated and cheezy but has a special charm that a lot of those old 80s sci-fi did.
Any well chime in on this iam having hard time making out what the Cylon says and the subtitles doesn't say what's said. 4:08-4:10 looking for cylons response to human saying "atleast we don't rust" did the Cylon respond with Challenge ( if only it said challange accept lol) any how I can't hear any other word then challange but I don't think that's right
its a compilation of cylons being goobers and that story is them at their most ridiculous. i wouldnt have included it if it was a compilation of them being cool or something lol
"I really think you should look at the other Battlestar" is my favorite Cylon line.
Indeed it is a BATTLESTAR
One of my favorite lines,too.
“What other Battlestar? Turn, you fool, turn!”
I think its one of the favorite lines from the whole season.
No doubt mine also I love that line along with boltars reaction makes it a classic
always unforgettable, the late Jonothan Harris (Dr smith in Lost in space) voicing lucifer brilliantly.
I loved the intro to the A-team which had Dirk Benedict recognizing a Ceylon
Please, can we all give a standing ovation to the legendary John Colicos!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Kor!
That's Dahar Master Kor to you.

You should have seen the episode were Baltor is cringing and crying in fear from someone more evil than he is begging for his life and soul!!

Ironic that KITT is in the front seat mesmerized by his own red scanner.
Yes, the actor that provided the voice of KITT in Night Rider driving the inspiration for his future role. Almost prophetic.

Oh for crying out loud. If you know, you know.
That's Jonathan Harris aka "Dr. Smith" of "Lost In Space" who is the voice of "Lucifer".
YES! After realizing who it was I had to pause the video and see if anyone in the comments had noticed.
I liked the banter between Baltar and Lusifer. At times seems they'll like squabbling married couple.
If only Baltar called Lucifer a "Bubbleheaded Booby" . . . .
yea.. i love lucifers sly remarks.. probably my favorite character
Baltar: "Engage the Squadron to attack Galactica". Lusifer: " But, Baltar we just disengaged Squadron." Baltar" It will drive Adama crazy." (evil smirk) Lucifer: " He's not the Only one...By your Command."

You have great taste.
The original series has a special charm and fun that the 2014 show never captured

I really liked the new Centurions though.

Yes, I'm sure the casting was intentional. Probably Glen Larson's idea.
Indeed. Not to mention Count Iblis.
And the narrator in the opening credits
"Apparently it was not as big a surprise as we had hoped for." 😂
"You humans are emotional about our having destroyed you." 😂
"I may not find your incessant talk fascinating, but at least i dont walk off." 😂

And we wonder why the 12 Models wouldn't let them talk!!
Those guys went flying right into Cygnus X-1. They are gone.
I never realized how much of a goofball this show was.

By goofy you mean bad ass surely.

Cylons sometimes hit their targets not often but sometimes
The Clone Troopers that come in to settle things.
