Worked for DR.Tod Kuhl from the beginning of this project in 2001 he gave me a wonderful opportunity to be involved in something so very important and worthwhile I had to take early retirement from Yellowstoneafter 8 years with Dr.Kuhl and so many others of his great staff after sixteen years in the Park I left due to major health issues my years in Yellowstone was a Dream come true Dr kuhl was always so kind and compassionate to my situation forever grateful to him and all i worked with in the Park I miss you all so much I pray I was worthy.
I have been fishing the
'Golden Circle' of the YNP area since I was stationed in Montana in the 1980s.
Thanks for the great summary of the history of the various Yellowstone fisheries and the current state of the Yellowstone Lake and River ecosystem. But the best news of all is your optimism about fish survival and recovery in the northern-most Yellowstone drainages hit hardest by the 2022 flood. Keep up the great work! With deepest respect and admiration,
Gary R, USAF-Retired
Thx for all your hard work for native fish in The Park !! I crossed fishing bridge in 1979 on my way to MSU. Thousands of large native YSCT's. Absolutely beautiful!!
I have been hiking and fishing Yellowstone since 1967 and, although things have changed, it remains awesome in the true meaning of that word. Thanks to Todd and his team for their all of their efforts. Years ago, I ran into a summertime ranger who had been helping out in the park since the early 50's and he told me a story about a visit by president Eisenhower. The country loved Ike and the park personal wanted to make his visit a success and part of his visit was an opportunity to fish in the park so the rangers put several hundred Brook trout into Tower creek to insure a full creel. According to this ( at the time) old timer, Ike had a great time and since that time, Tower creek has been full of Brookies . Good intentions, unintended results but I do enjoy the fishing way up Tower even it was a mistake.
Thank you for these videos! Love Yellowstone and thankful for the opportunity to learn more
