Great, no nonsense video. If a person can't figure out how to fix their machine after watching ur professional video, they should take up quilting. Lol👍
Len, that is correct. That bearing comes with the 2204717 kit, and in the event that you need to replace the new style bearing 3 years down the road, that will be the number you will need.
I had the loose wheel right from the start in 2008. I took it in to our local dealer in Fresno Ca. to see if was a warranty issue. They said it was and I left it there to fix it. It had 125 miles on it. I came back to get it after they "fixed" it under warranty. It was exactly the same and they wanted to charge me $200 for labor because there was no issue. I was so pissed. So I took it home and diagnosed the spline issue in about 1/2 hour, ground out the washer and fixed it. It has never failed since. I never spent another dime at their store either. The RZR was the 9th vehicle I had purchased from them. I had later heard the dealership offering warranties and buying the warranty back if they found too much wrong with the vehicle during diagnosis!
Zook, your 2012 should have the updated bearings and hubs already. The change was made Jan 2010. A small amount of play is fine, like .015-.025. And the Loctite will just spread out and do it's thing without any machining of the bearing carrier.
I will second that, excellent tutorial. As i sit here with a completely fractured hub and totally disintegrated bearing. I have 2008 Razor 800. We do not ride it hard but still hard to get through one trip without losing axle, boot or bearing. Just spent $4500 on new motor. Cost of parts are ridiculous. Can't wait for after market parts to show up. $300 for brake caliper, $600 for two small pieces of Muffler, What a rip off.
So are you saying to do this upgrade you jus need to buy that hub kit with the bearing included.. you do not need to buy that seperate bearing that you show on the bottom of the box...Correct ? ??
Nice video. Question for you. 2013 900xp. had a lot of play in front wheels. I changed wheel bearing last night. While putting back together this morning I have another issue that is puzzling me. I still have play coming from hub where ball joints go in... Ball joints seem fine. With ball joint bolt in there is about 1/4" movement up and down on both upper and lower ball joint. Have you seen this?
Scott Barry I have seen cases where the bearing carrier (cast iron steering knuckle) has become worn and or deformed. Did you hit something prior to the bearing failure, or was it just worn from mileage?
I must have hit something. I found the problem. On the shaft of ball joint where bolt sits(i think that is what you are calling knuckle) is deformed causing the play. I ordered new ball joints. I was driving it pretty hard through rough terrain. thanks for the response!!
RZR GUYS! When I first made this video, the 2204717 kit was cheaper than the hub and bearing sold separately. NOW, the 3514699 Bearing is 29.99 and the 5137219 Hub is 43.99, totaling 73.98 Polaris now gets $104.99 for the kit, which contains one of each of the above parts! Just order one of each brg and hub and save $30!!
+Eddie Regory If you are talking about the support bearing on the front drive shaft in the tunnel, I have this to say. The old 800's did not have them, as the front prop shaft was a straight shot to the front diff. Now, the new XP 1000 and the 2015 900S do have a bearing as the front prop shaft is a 2 piece unit with a major angle via a u joint. Both machines use a 3514900 bearing. The 900S had not shown to have a problem with these bearings so far. The 1000's have seen a fair amount of problems. I honestly feel as though the 75 HP engine is a lot easier on components than the 100 HP 1000 XP engine. I've also noticed that broken axles are not a problem on the new 900 machines. That may be related to the fact that many guys now respect their rides, and have learned hard lessons from the past, or their friends issues from over aggressive driving.
great video, i have a 2012 rzr 800 and i had a wee bit of movement in my front wheel. i tightened the hub nut and it went away. does the 2012 already have the pt#2204717 or should i upgrade. does the bearing need to have 4 channels machined in it for the loctite?
The rears were never an issue beyond normal wear, unlike the fronts that were undersized from day one. Just hub and bearing, separate part numbers. Go to purepolaris.com
+PATH201 No, the 2011 models were already equipped with the better set up. XP's also used steel or cast hubs, but they too could wear and break. But that was mainly due to more HP and more aggressive driving because the suspension could handle it.
Yes, but they had an entirely different set of parts and kits to address the issues on the new (for that time) XP issues. See your dealer for specifics.
+Russell Mccree You already have the latest and greatest parts on your 2014. This kist would fit your machice, but just order individual wheel bearings, as your hubs should be just fine.

They suck. I had problems with my machine and my "warranty"

Hey partner....GREAT TIPS....thanks for the video submission, that helps a lot. I'm just about to replace my first set in my 2013 RZR 900 XP.
Awesome video..is this what's causing the clicking popping sound in the front end while turning?
Probably NOT the bearing giving you problems. Sounds more like the outer CV joint on one or the other front axles.
So are you saying to do this upgrade you jus need to buy that hub kit with the bearing included.. you do not need to buy that seperate bearing that you show on the bottom of the box...Correct ? ??
Does the newer hubs go bad? I have a 2017 rzr.
What about the Ranger. Ive got the 2010 crew with the same scrawny hub and there is no updated kit or hub listed. new bearings and still wobbles.

Thank you. Part numbers really helped. Thank you!
Hi, I just subscribed. I have a Razor S 900 2015. Do you know if the quality of the carrier/bearing on that model is equally bad?

CHRIST!!!! I so wish i would of seen this vid before i destroyed my unit.... Subbing you thanks for the info !!!!
Hey great info, thanks for taking the time to put it up!!!!
Do you know the part number for the rear kit?
The rears were never an issue beyond normal wear, unlike the fronts that were undersized from day one. Just hub and bearing, separate part numbers. Go to purepolaris.com
Does the 2012 XP 900 need this update? I am just looking to see what wheel bearings to order for mine.. anyone?
Always go with factory bearings. they are the only ones that I have found that fit correctly, not just pretty close.
Thanks for the info.
does this upgrade fit a 2012 razor 570?
Great info, it helped me alot. Thanks!!
Are the 2011 RZR 900 XPs effected by this?
+PATH201 No, the 2011 models were already equipped with the better set up. XP's also used steel or cast hubs, but they too could wear and break. But that was mainly due to more HP and more aggressive driving because the suspension could handle it.
+redrzr56 my right rear just went out (2011 900 xp)
Excellent tutorial..
will this fix my 2011 900 xp?
Yes, but they had an entirely different set of parts and kits to address the issues on the new (for that time) XP issues. See your dealer for specifics.
Thank you
Pretty helpful billy bob thornton. Just kidding. Helpful video.
LOL. Not the first time someone has made the Billy Bob Thornton comment!
Thanks
