    Bonjour Leslie and Rob, the stove hood looks beautiful, you have it the way you want it, and saved tons of money. Well done. Now, I must say this, NEVER apologize for enjoying some of the finer things this life has to offer. You both work so hard and are so dedicated, to your cause and your students. to take some time for yourselves to relax and ENJOY, just do it guilt free. Welcome home to the states, but I understand why you miss France and your Chateau. Love from N.Y.

    OK I was excited when you started the hood vent but never expected it to actually finish off so beautifully! Wow you did a very good job!! And glad to hear you will do that dark colour on top. It needs it. But I know how dirty my hood gets with oils and dust that maybe you would consider changing changing it to dark grey/black tiles with dark grout. Hand made clay tiles could look beautiful and would make cleaning easy. Food for thought.😉🇨🇦

    Ok now officially green with envy! We have been saying for years that we want to go to Le Train Blu but whenever we were in Paris it did not work out. You have reinstated our resolve to go and inspired us to plan our next visit! I can see that maybe you two have crossed the mental line and your hearts are more in France than is North America. I am sure you will find as I did, your tummy falls in love with France first then the siege on your heart begins! Remember Le Train Blu it will take you over the edge and place your heart in France full time. Robs eyes @12:22 explain everything I just said! 😁

    Welcome back! The range hood is looking great! Using compound wood pieces is smart. Another RUclipsr I follow has functioning wood-working equipment from the late 1800s when his house was built, including machines to make detailed mouldings. To set up machines to create a trim piece like that would indeed cost major bucks. The fancy French restaurant was the perfect end to your stay this time. Nothing like being waited on after months of hard work. At least you can rest easy that the Chateau is in good hands while you are gone.

    Moldings were originally built up in layers. Before the industrial revolution the mass production of cutting heads didn't exist. Your creation looks great especially in consideration of the fact that you aren't a cabinet maker.
    Those two ranges are capable of generating an enormous amount of steam and grease. Unfortunately, what you have built looks like a range hood but it is just an elaborate work light. What you need is to vent the hood to the outside. I didn't see any venting anywhere. Your fan is just going to suck up a minimal amount of atmosphere from the area and force it into the small cavity above the ovens.
    I'm afraid you have created a potential grease trap made of wood, which is a fire hazard.
    Your smoke detectors in the kitchen area are going to activate each time you cook on those range tops.
    Please be careful and buy some fire extinguishers that are grease rated!

    Uhhhhhhh Canadians …. YOU DON’T USE WOOD (let alone particle or press board) for a GAS RANGE/OVEN HOOD!!!! And Rob/Leslie what is your fan rated for : For gas cooking surfaces or range, a minimum ventilation level of 100 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) per 10,000 BTU is recommended. That’s for one gas stove, you have 2 so you need 600 CFM as a “commercial kitchen”. LORD MAY THE FIRES OF GREESE HELL NOT SPARK’ith” ON THIS Château!

    • @careybrown3776
      @careybrown3776 11 месяцев назад

      Where did they use particle/press board? I don’t see any. It’s for a venta hood and for a nicer look. They’ve been using the stoves without one. Don’t be rude.
