Why not just use your cellphone? Most modern smartphones are waterproof and have a GPS function. Just sayin'... These darn things are upwards of 1000 USD, way too much money in my opinion.
Kenneth Wise one reason is that the sun is heating the phone within minutes and closes it automatically. when it rains its not really waterproof. maps and routes are really easy on the nav 5 or 6. where is no mobile data the gps is way better than the phone. in addition to this the nav 5 can be used from the bikes „magic wheel“ and has lots of useful functions like the zoom function...
