Your shawl is such a beautiful colour ❤ I still have the booklet from Unwind in Brighton which has the Pebble Beach pattern in. It was my first ever yarn show 😊 Thank you for taking the time to share your projects. I've been working on my Sophie shawl while I was watching, it's going to be huge! Maybe I'll find a single skein of something lovely and cast on a Pebble Beach...
Loved, loved, loved spending this time with you, Alex! There’s so much enthusiasm in what you are talking about and the variety of your makes, past, present and future, is exciting! I am just recovering from the high thrills of Yarndale and I utterly agree with you and everything you said about attending yarn shows & festivals! I met some incredible people, exhibitors and makers, talked, laughed and marvelled for hours! Nothing can beat being with your tribe! 🍁🍄🍂🦔
Hey Natalie, thanks for watching! I bet Yarndale was a lot of fun. I hear it’s one of the best yarn shows in the country. I’m glad you could relate to how I feel connecting with other makers at these events. They are really special 💗
It was SO lovely to hear about what you have been up to! I was sewing notions pouches for advents while I watched. I loved hearing about your show experiences, seeing you spinning and bags! The No Moths reddish yarn you are spinning is gorgeous ❤. I am just so happy to see another of your episodes. ☕️
Lovely shawl, Alex and beautiful colour. I’ve knitted several pebble beach shawls in the past, it’s a great pattern. Did’nt go to Yarndale this year, as the past two years, I came home with Covid and was so poorly, could’nt risk it again, with the crowds.x💕
Thanks Emma! I’ve been hoarding this yarn for far too long 🤭 It’s gorgeous in this pattern, it shows the lace pattern off beautifully and it’s so cosy!
Your shawl looks amazing and this colour is so deep and rich. I recently knitted your Meadow scarf and agree that there is always a place for smaller scarfs - love patterne where you have a choice how big you like to make it.
I Alex, I am a new knitter and spinner from Canada! I learned that fibre will draft easier from one end of the braid than the other. There are cuticles on the outside of each strand like hair and you could be drafting with it or against it. I hold the braid to my ear and pull small bits of fiber out of the end of the braid, listen to the sound. Then try it on the other end. The softer sounding draft will be the best end to spin from as it is 'with' the cuticles. ❤
I lile the shawl, I to like wearing smaller ones, they are great for when the house is a bit chilly. I'm working on some colourwork gloves which I bought as a kit from last year's Southern Wool Show. I enjoy going to events too, so much better to see the people and the things they have for sale.
Hi Alex. Great podcast. Loved you showing all your bags and makes. I’m new to you through people sharing their unravel trips. There were alot of videos of your stand☺️. I did notice the cute dpn holders, can I ask if you will be making more😊
Hi Clare, I’m so pleased you have found me and you enjoyed the episode! Thank you for spending some time with me today ☺️ I will have DPN cosies coming back to the shop soon so please do check back.
I’d love to see you at the Christmas Wool Show, I hope you can make it! I think the ribbed edge works well with the Vilma Top so I’d definitely recommend doing the same if you’re not fussed about having the decorative finish of the original.
I was laughing watching your ep when you were worrying your Vilma was too small as I was thinking mine was going to be too big! Let’s hope it all works out in the blocking for both of us 😂
Such a lovely shawl! Your podcast is always a favorite. I love how much enthusiasm and passion you bring to your shop and your making. Thanks!
So wonderful seeing all your bags. Keen to see your winter box with the trees. Love and hugs from Canada.

I’m so glad you had time to watch Tania! I loved sharing what I’ve been up to, it’s like catching up with all my friends when I record these videos ☺️
Love your shawl and the color of the yarn! I was knitting on a baby blanket as I watched :) Always enjoy your podcast!
Ah Alex, it was so good meeting and chatting with you at Unravel. Looking forward to working with you. Best wishes Helen x

I ordered a box for my December birthday. Can’t wait.
Awk Alex just clicked on to your podcast and BOOM! It’s the Hearth Sock 😂 your shawl looks fab!

Thanks for watching Janine! It’s lovely to hear you were inspired by the meadow shawl I showed recently. 😊
The shawl is beautiful, your whole outfit looks great together 💕 Have just ordered the winter gift box, it will be a lovely treat for myself.
Thank you Alison! I can’t wait to send this years boxes out, I think you’re going to love it. Thank you for supporting me and my small business 🥰

Definitely will try a ribbed edge when I cast on my vilma. I live in the Midlands, so hopefully will pop to see you on your stand in December 😊

I’m also wondering why I didn’t do a ribbed edge on the Vilma! Great idea!

Your Shawl is beautiful 🌰🍁
Thank you! 😊
