    I finally have bought a white Rexton ELX in Australia. Thanks again for your review since it helped a lot. I can't be happier. It is such an underrated SUV, which outperforms those twice as expensive. My brother also has bought a black Ultimate in South Korea and is extremely happy.

    Hello just a small point, you mention that the 'Lane Departure' helps prevent you from wandering out of your lane on the motorway and that if you do without indicating, then you will feel resistance from the steering wheel as it tries to prevent you from doing so. This is NOT the case the Lane Departure is a warning that sounds an alarm. The system does NOT physically prevent the steering wheel from moving. See section 4, page 132 of the driver's manual. If you think about it it would be very dangerous for the steering to prevent you from moving lanes. If a vehicle in front shed part of its load and you needed to quickly swerve out of the way you wouldn't have time to think about indicating first and IF the Lane Departure prevented you from doing so you may hit the obstruction!

      It’s new out. Karina did well finding it and it should suit our caravan down to a “T”.

    Another great vid people! I have the exact same tow hitch on my new ve-hicle.
    And Jules FYI, 80 grit emerycloth, and finish off with 600 wet & dry ( dry only).
    Wash it off with brake cleaner.
    One down, one to go now, bet your chomping at the bit.
    All the best

    Good review & look around , really nice car ,thanks guys 👍🏼.
    To keep within my B licence requirements we bought the 2.0ltr 2wd Korando for towing , & it’s a great tow car for the money. If I decide to upgrade to a B & E license I’d definitely consider the Rexton.

      Been out in in for a few days now, going to struggle to fault it. Gadgets galore quiet engine lovely to drive. Only problem I have found is you have to park miles from any other car to keep it pristine. But thats just a new car / pride thing I think. 😉👍

    Nice review 👍. Can I ask, you mentioned about using it in 4x4 high range on the road when towing. I was under the impression that unless the transfer box has a centre differential then you will wind the transmission up and break something using it in 4x4 on tarmac. Maybe worth checking with ssangyong.

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  6 лет назад

      Thank you for your comment, we have since checked and after reading the manual we believe you are absolutely correct. It should only be in 4x4 - high for snow and similar conditions 2 WD for towing and 4x4 low for off road terrain. 👍

      Thank you for your reply. So many people are self conscious about the badge on the front . What it does, how it feels, how it drives. Comes foremost. If you don't tow then yes look elsewhere. If you do stop & have a long think. You won't be disappointed.

      What's your thoughts on the Ssangyong after sales care?

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  6 лет назад

      To be honest we have had no reason to go back to them. We have had the car just short of a month now and had no issues with it al all. They sent us a hand written note from the sales team thanking us for our purchase which we thought was a nice touch but that’s the only contact we have had with them. 👍

    If you have a hitch stabiliser you will need to get the paint removed from the tow ball. We were charged a small amount for having the fitters do it with a machine. Hope this makes sense but the paint prevents the stabiliser from working properly.

    Hi Karina, would you recommend the Rexton? We were looking at the Amarok last night and the Defender but your Rexton review has got us thinking.
    Ryan

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  3 года назад +1

      Hi Ryan, we have been really pleased with our Rexton. We have done 45k miles in 3 years with no issues. Running costs are good, we get about 33 to the gallon and 28 when towing. It tows very well, no the power isn’t anything exciting but its got the grunt for towing. The equipment level is excellent. There is a Ssangyong owners group on FB, full of happy owners. I would certainly buy this car again, for the money it’s excellent. 😊 Karina

      If you’re a member of the CAMC they have a free tow bar offer with Ssangyong, its worth looking at. I would recommend getting prices through CarWow too, it will give you an idea of what you can negotiate on. 😊

    Hi, I was thinking about possibly buying a Rexton. What MPG do you get from it when solo and towing in real world driving?, not really after best mpg but what you avarage in both senarios. :-)

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Shaun, we have found that real life MPG is 33 everyday and 29 when towing. But have to say it’s extremely stable and eats motorway miles. 👍Hope that helps.

    Hi guys ... after your first season towing and living with the Rexton, how about an update .
    Is it all you expected ? More than or less?
    Would be interested to hear - I went for a test drive in an ELX on Sunday after seeing them at the Manchester show and watching your vlog. I tow with a Toyota RAV4 at the mo.
    ( I even showed the dealer your review!)
    Enjoy all your videos - look forward to more 👍🏻
    Howard

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Howard, thanks for watching. We have been really pleased with the Rexton ELX, perfect spec with everything you need. It tows really well and eats up the motorway. The engine isn’t going to give you any great excitement off the line but pulls well. For the price we certainly wouldn’t swop it for anything else. It’s been surprisingly good on tyres too for such a heavy car not like our previous SUV’s. The detachable tow bar is a great bit of kit and solid. We would recommend the Rexton without hesitation. Good luck with whatever you decide.

    • @HowardB54
      @HowardB54 5 лет назад

      Thanks for your reply - it’s kind of what I expected as there are good reviews all round for the ELX.
      RAV4 is ok on tyres unlike my last Merc E class which used to eat tyres.
      Thanks for all your vlogs and the time you take in putting them up for everyone and look forward to more of same 👍🏻

    As a late subscriber we are not sure If you still monitor this vlog. We are looking to possibly change from X trail 2 litre in the next 6 months. I have started my research already. Looked at your review and Andrew Ditton’s.
    Are you still happy.....any major faults......would you now go up to an Ultimate or change car completely?

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  5 лет назад

      Hi Graeme, we do still monitor all comments. We still love our SsangYong and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. I would still go for the ELX. The ultimate is nice but can’t justify the price for the cameras and electric tail gate. If that had a bigger engine then that might sway us as it can feel a little under powered but it’s not the sort of car that will excite with its blistering performance but if you want to sit high and enjoy the comfort of the ride then that for us is what it’s all about. Hope that helps. 👍👍
