I’m amazed you’ve kept that pencil so long... I’m always losing mine. I love how simple everything is. I use my iPad for everything from notetaking to a planner.
Haha yeah I just make the conscious effort to not lose it since i know it costs like 8 bucks and that’s awesome iPads are great for school and productivity I was even thinking of picking one up!

im taking a duffle bag to college is that bad, im getting anxious ive bought a duffle bag and idk if its alright
You should be good with just a backpack tbh, but if you want to bring a duffle bag for travel purposes or other reasons that's good too!

I used pen and paper for most of my note taking, but now with my iPad and Apple Pencil I just use that instead to take notes
