The differences between the two aside from the price is that the Aventon is a hub drive as opposed to the mid drive Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra Duo 2. Thank you very much for the video, great job! I ordered the same red step through bike you reviewed a week and a half ago, but it hasn’t arrived yet. I also ordered the front factory rack, but chose to order an aftermarket rear rack because it has a lot more options. The bag slides on and off the rack and snaps into place very easily. It also has a couple of fold down pouches if you need extra room.
@@bernievassallo3336 I'm enjoying the Aventure very much! The weight doesn't bother me because it's fairly easy to load it on my Hollywood carrier. The throttle is the only thing I wish was different. I have had motorcycles all my life and can't get used to using a thumb throttle on the left side. Actually, I wish it was a regular twist grip on the right side. The only other issue I have with it is the pulling power going up hills. My Segway X-2 would take me up the steepest hill around without a problem, but the Aventure is not nearly as strong, and it won't make it to the top of our steepest hill before giving up.
The hill you went up is much smaller than what I have around here in Southern Utah. I’m a little worried that this e-bike might not be what I need . Even though it seems like such a good buy at $1600.
What they should have done is made big giant mirrors for people that need big mirrors and they should have made a bike trailer U-Haul stuff in like bag of cans when you catch them in to recycle or grocery I think they should have made that I'd light a little bit bigger and Powerful so you can see at night where you're going if I had my choice to color it be neon yellow if they had it but right now I'm doing my homework
Hmmm... Is it a good idea for a step through design with a battery mounted in a hollowed out frame? Can't help being skeptical that an aluminum frame will be strong enough to support all the gross weight of fully loaded bike with a "battery hollowed out half box downtube" mount - especially a few years after regular use.
Great video! Definitely swayed us getting this bike. Just bought the Aventure bike a few days ago and absolutely love it. I do have to ask...we live on asphalt and dirt roads with wash board terrain. It felt like I was on a jack hammer when going over bumps. Would changing out the suspension seat post help or changing fork preload or just simply changing the the seat make for a better ride? Any suggestions??
It sounds like your front fork might be locked out or it might need the preload turned down. It shouldn't feel that rough. But if that doesn't add and comfort, a suspension seat post is the next thing we recommend. -JT
Hi Becky I wanted to ask a couple things if you don’t mind. What was the issue with the rough ride and how is the aventure with throttle only?… thanks!! Bernie vassallo

Too bad they didn't have a rare house on the southside of Indianapolis Indiana where they can make these bikes of your choice of different color paint and put it all together right there where you can buy it right on the spot it might take a couple days to get it fixed but hey it be worth it and that way when you buy it it's all ready to go and you don't have to worry about getting it shipped off to your place where you live at and you have variety of different colors to choose the paint if you have a choice of better Improvement on brake lights in the back what the left and the right turn signal plus a pill in the alarm to that then people won't know it's a lot on there they'll think it's just a brake light and a tracking device inside so when the police track your bike down because it got stolen by someone else hey that be great ideal to hey it's just a thought that counts and that's my peanut but people should you that way they can pick their own colors and don't have the bike rack on the back but I want to step through one and I'm just giving these companies big I do really could do it all in one company of their own like paint job batteries and put the frame together and go from there and if you have a choice between thumb throttle or twister shifter that way it'd be up to the customer different color choices of paint job that would also be excellent I'm just giving you advice so you can pass it on to the bike companies that makes easy electric e-bikes and don't forget a mirror that's all have a blessed day

Hi Ryan! Thank you for the great channel and content!! I'm torn between buying the Aventon Adventure and the RipCurrent S. Likely I'd be happy with either choice, but for only $500 more (only : ) the RipCurrent has a lot more range and the torque sensing. (I'm sure that everyone has their preference and perspective on cadence and torque.) If the two bikes were priced the same what would you recommend?
Hi Michael, unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the RipCurrent. I too believe you can't go wrong either way. If you value the range then I think the RipCurrent is probably the way to go. I'd like to feel the torque sensing for myself. I do think the Aventure has some pros as well with the color LCD, and integrated battery. It's overall a more clean looking ebike. Appreciate it if you use our links with whichever one you decide on. (And let me know what you go with and how you like it!)
@@EbikeEscape Hi Ryan, I finally pulled the trigger and bought the RipCurrent S, it was on sale , ($700 off) it is the 750 watt motor not 1000 watt, still 1300 watt peak. Greetings from Australia. With regards to the Aventon Aventure, if you were to purchase one, which would you opt for and why. Would you purchase the step-through model or the step-over model. I’d really value your opinion because I am considering purchasing an Aventure.
How would you compare the Juiced Bikes with the Aventon? Preference for one over the other, 750 plus motor. Also, looking for E-Bikes with Motorcycle style throttle… any suggestions
Can you comment on what a few other reviewers have stated that there is a 1 to 2-second delay when pressing the thumb throttle and the motor kicking in? How bad is it/is it really noticeable? Thanks.
@@dansalas399 Thanks. I actually ordered the bike and have been riding it for a few weeks. Loving it! The delay is something I got used to and actually has a purpose so that an accidental throttle press gives a brief "grace period" before it engages. I quickly learned how to adjust to the delay.
@@jonpeterson4085 Depending on the gear that I'm in I find that there can be a slight delay from a complete stop. This tends to happen in a high gear and it makes sense because your pedals are moving at a very slow rate and the computer must not recognize the pedaling for a moment. Lower gears have a faster rate of spin and tend to initiate the motor immediately. I was really concerned about these issues while I was doing research but now that I have the bike, it's not a concern at all.
What you don't want that phone on there can you still use it because I don't like having all that on there I like the little one in the middle of the bike I don't want Terry phone on there it might come out but then again that's my opinion

Would you recommend any Chinese ebikes as good alternatives to the Aventon Adventure, as they don't have that model in Europe? And, would you have preferred 21 gears to the 7 that comes with the Aventure?
When you have a motor the need for the "perfect" gear is not as important as the motor fills in the gaps. So the 7 speed is perfect. I think maybe another gear or two would be great, but 21 would be way to many. We are not as familiar with the ebikes being offered in the EU market. Himiway or Velotric Nomad?
@@EbikeEscape Yeah, the thing was that I was going to send my brand new Shengmilo back, because the display stopped working 10 days after I got it, but I think that I might keep it and try to put it all on myself. I was already shopping for another ebike online, since prices are so crazy at local shops. I was just bummed out about not having pas or throttle until I replace it myself.
maybe a common knowledge question here, but....are the assist levels set to pre determined speeds (pas 1 = 11mph/pas 2 16mph/pas 3 21mph etc..) so basically if youre in pas1 youre going 11pmh and their is nothing you can do to slightly alter that speed to keep identical pace with those that dont ride ebikes....what if i wanna go say 13mph or 17mph do i have the ability to do that?
when i first got my sinch i would cruize pas2 at about 15 mph , now with stronger legs i go about 18mph . you do have ability to adjust speed by amount of pedaling
I saw one of these bikes at a shop here in town and I'm curios why the chain is really different, it didn't seem like it had any lube and was really course to the touch, can you explain thanks!
In my opinion, there isn't a great budget one that really can stand up to heavy ebikes like the Aventure. I personally use this one from Park Tool which might be overkill for the home mechanic but it works great (affiliate link): amzn.to/3lr8tNe
@@EbikeEscape Thanks for the recommendation. Yeah, i too, was looking through some of the less expensive options, but not certain i want to take the chance with those
Is the throttle works with variable speed or just go full speed when pressed? Mine goes full throttle even with the slightest press that i almost fall off from stationary position
@@EbikeEscape I’ve been looking at ebikes and watching your reviews. They all seem pretty heavy, 60-70 pounds Looking for quality and reliable. I’ve been between this bike and a few folding models. Thoughts?
It's a solid bike. First decide if you want a folding model or not and then go from there. If you plan to travel and don't want to buy a rack folding ebikes are awesome.
@@EbikeEscape I know this question is tough because they are in 2 different segments however how would you compare this to the Espin Nesta? Component quality etc? Trying to get the most $ for $
I love mine but it arrived with bent rear fender rods and I have been waiting over a month for replacements. Also, for the price, an adjustable handlebar height would be nice. I added it for $16. Power is great, but a torque sensor rather than a cadence sensor would have been so much better. Its quite a powerful motor when you start peddling, so when your with someone else, you have to start and stop peddling often to stay with them. Its not very natural. Maybe you don't notice this when riding alone. Maybe add a test where you ride with someone else going, say 12mph, and see how easy it is. It's not so easy with this bike. One other thing, my brakes are very scratchy when stopping. So I think its 95% there, but with a bit more fine tuning, it could be a better eBike.
I experienced the same thing, my wife has a mid drive torque sensor bike and it was hard to maintain the same speed as her. I took mine back and ordered a mid drive like hers. Also the weight was so high, I was over the limit for my hitch rack by 7 lbs even with the battery out.
@@bgdogy what mid-drive bike did you buy? We have Raleigh Detour mid-drive bikes but want something more all terrain. Would prefer mid-drive and lighter but what I have found so far is out of our price range.
The fat tire is designed strictly for off-road. the asphalt/concrete will wear out the fat tire very fast and you'll be out of $300 bucks to replace them. get the Aventon Commuter bike the road, basically the exact same bike designed for road usage. the Commuter bike has more color options and only 2 sizes - large/medium and Medium/small
I agree if you plan on riding predominately on the road but still that hasn't stopped many people who just seem to love fat tire ebikes. The Aventon tires definitely have more tread on them for off-road riding than many of the other fat tire ebikes I've reviewed.
$300 for tires! Where you buying from? I purchased 2 Kendas that are exactly same as the ones bike is shipped with for $150! I've seem other brands as low as $50 each.
I”ve ridden my RadMini fat tire ebike for about 1500 miles before I had to replace the tires. Cost was nominal. The comfort, better balance and traction of a fat tire bike is well worth it.
I think e-bikes have a great future. But at the moment all of these bikes are basically just cheap junk if you plan on actually using your bike much. The reason they are so heavy it's not because quality it's just the opposite. Lighter quality frames and components simply cost more and last longer. Now I understand that these offerings are not geared toward actual cyclists. Take the motor and battery off of this bike and you're basically looking at about a $400- $500 pedal bike. But with a bike that is still way too heavy, and geared too high to effectively pedal over any type of terrain. There is a reason why quality standard bicycles easily run into thousands of dollars. But then again depends on how you're going to use these bikes. If you plan on putting thousands of miles year with these I'm afraid you're in for a rude awakening.

The differences between the two aside from the price is that the Aventon is a hub drive as opposed to the mid drive Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra Duo 2. I would have preferred a step over bike, but since the large sized Aventon Aventure step bikes are sold out, I might settle for a step thru as the electric red color looks nice on the step thru bikes.
Hey mate, did you end up getting the bike? what sort of range are you getting?
@@zanemcgrath1455 I bought one about 2 months ago. So far, its been doing quite well. I ride at PA4, so I'm seeing close to 25 miles for the range and that will get me anywhere I want to go in the area I live in. Of course, the mileage per charge may vary depending on the weight of the rider and the power assist level.
Hello! I am 5’8 and 270. I see that we are very close in weight. I wanted to ask how you are liking your aventure and do you ever ride it throttle only?… thanks and God bless you
@@bernievassallo3336 It gets me around to where I want to go in my area, so I'm happy with that. As for riding it throttle only, that's something I rarely do. I mostly pedal, but I do use the throttle to get myself going from a standing start. That's useful for when I'm at a stop sign or a traffic light and need to get going again quickly.
Himiway zebra does 400lbs step over and step threw same price plenty reviews on them on utube they look similar I’m sure from the same mfg company just change a few things and call it there own lol
Does this come with a bike light that is very very bright what about the backlight the red one so people can see it flashing then that way you're being safe and not sorry
Hope you enjoy it Parl!
Hi Parl I wanted to ask how you are liking your aventure?… any regret’s with its weight 72LBS? Lastly how is it throttle only … thanks!
Good to see how it fits and pulls a 6 ft. #230 rider more than a 5'8" #150 model. (not sure this guys weighs #230 tho)
I think I’m m a model then … not! I’m 5’8 and 265LBS!! Did you end up with the aventure? If so how are you liking it ?… thanks!
No Kepler review yet... Hmm.. Maybe one day. Good job!
I hope so too...
One hell of a good review of this bike. Very nice, 👍
Thanks! 👍
The hill you went up is much smaller than what I have around here in Southern Utah. I’m a little worried that this e-bike might not be what I need . Even though it seems like such a good buy at $1600.
The Aventure has a strong motor, so we wouldn't be worried.
Do you happen to know the grade and distance of your hill?
Great review, thanks!!
Pretty satisfied so far
What they should have done is made big giant mirrors for people that need big mirrors and they should have made a bike trailer U-Haul stuff in like bag of cans when you catch them in to recycle or grocery I think they should have made that I'd light a little bit bigger and Powerful so you can see at night where you're going if I had my choice to color it be neon yellow if they had it but right now I'm doing my homework
Very helpful review! Nice!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
Hmmm... Is it a good idea for a step through design with a battery mounted in a hollowed out frame? Can't help being skeptical that an aluminum frame will be strong enough to support all the gross weight of fully loaded bike with a "battery hollowed out half box downtube" mount - especially a few years after regular use.
What are the difference in the step-through s/m and m/l size? Specs only show seat min and max heights as the difference .
Considering a Level 2
Very good review. Thank you.
Glad you liked it - thanks for watching and commenting.
Why is it that nobody mentions the cool USB port in the display 🤔
I can't remember if I forgot to call it out but I did call it out on my comparison video with the RadRover. It is tucked in there nicely so it is easy to miss!
Why do you ask this on every video
Too bad they didn't have a rare house on the southside of Indianapolis Indiana where they can make these bikes of your choice of different color paint and put it all together right there where you can buy it right on the spot it might take a couple days to get it fixed but hey it be worth it and that way when you buy it it's all ready to go and you don't have to worry about getting it shipped off to your place where you live at and you have variety of different colors to choose the paint if you have a choice of better Improvement on brake lights in the back what the left and the right turn signal plus a pill in the alarm to that then people won't know it's a lot on there they'll think it's just a brake light and a tracking device inside so when the police track your bike down because it got stolen by someone else hey that be great ideal to hey it's just a thought that counts and that's my peanut but people should you that way they can pick their own colors and don't have the bike rack on the back but I want to step through one and I'm just giving these companies big I do really could do it all in one company of their own like paint job batteries and put the frame together and go from there and if you have a choice between thumb throttle or twister shifter that way it'd be up to the customer different color choices of paint job that would also be excellent I'm just giving you advice so you can pass it on to the bike companies that makes easy electric e-bikes and don't forget a mirror that's all have a blessed day
There is a local dealer who carries this, but I still want to support you for your help. Is there any other way I can support you?
I'll take a look at your accessories page.
That local dealer network is one of the nice things about Aventon.
Currently purchasing accessories through our links would be the next best option to support us. Thanks for the support.
Best Buy in my area isn’t available except for one model.
I wonder if they will continue selling them at Best Buy.
Is this legal in Wisconsin with no license?
Going to order mine at the local dealer tomorrow. I'm still debating what color to go with.🤔 That Red is beautiful but I really like the Sand color too... So confused. 😖 Thanks for the review.
I've seen both and they both look great! I thought the Sand color looked better in person than it does on the website. Enjoy and thanks for watching!
@@EbikeEscape Thanks. I went and placed my order and now it just the wait.🙄😏 I ordered a Lectric 2.0 Step-Thru for my wife on Monday and it'll be here Thursday already. That bike looks like a lot of fun too. I wanted to ask you about adding a spacer under the handlebars to get more of a upright seating position. What do you think? Maybe the C-9 seat as well? Thoughts would be appreciated. 😎👍
@@EbikeEscape Thank you so much! You bring up valid points! I'll keep you posted in the weeks to come!
@@EbikeEscape Hi Ryan, I finally pulled the trigger and bought the RipCurrent S, it was on sale , ($700 off) it is the 750 watt motor not 1000 watt, still 1300 watt peak. For the price, I decided to go with it. Thank you for all the great content and videos. I'm also checking out a Lectric XP Lite and 2.0 for my girlfriend. I have a demo on Tuesday. Pretty cool that they are located here in Phoenix. I used your link also, hope that helps you out. Thanks again!

Hi Michael I wanted to ask how you are liking the RipCurrent ? I’m looking at that the aventure and the Kepler. How is yours up hills and how about the weight of the bike?… thanks for any reply!!! Bernie vassallo
Greetings from Australia. With regards to the Aventon Aventure, if you were to purchase one, which would you opt for and why. Would you purchase the step-through model or the step-over model. I’d really value your opinion because I am considering purchasing an Aventure.
Step thru, no real downside in my opinion. It's just so much more convenient.
Thank you. I value your opinion.
How would you compare the Juiced Bikes with the Aventon? Preference for one over the other, 750 plus motor. Also, looking for E-Bikes with Motorcycle style throttle… any suggestions
I need to check out the full-size fat tire ebikes from Juiced.
Can you comment on what a few other reviewers have stated that there is a 1 to 2-second delay when pressing the thumb throttle and the motor kicking in? How bad is it/is it really noticeable? Thanks.
It’s not bad at all. More like a half a second to a second delay.
@@dansalas399 Thanks. I actually ordered the bike and have been riding it for a few weeks. Loving it! The delay is something I got used to and actually has a purpose so that an accidental throttle press gives a brief "grace period" before it engages. I quickly learned how to adjust to the delay.
@@omshivashankara any delay from motor when pedaling??
I had bought the Rad Rover Plus 6 Same Bike for the most part $2000 is fine if your getting some Quality Parts < Thank you for the look and ride along 👍✌️🚴🚴♀️🚴♂️🙂❤️🤍💙
Enjoy!
It´s a medium large frame...? Is that bigger than the small medium large frame...?
Yes
maybe a common knowledge question here, but....are the assist levels set to pre determined speeds (pas 1 = 11mph/pas 2 16mph/pas 3 21mph etc..) so basically if youre in pas1 youre going 11pmh and their is nothing you can do to slightly alter that speed to keep identical pace with those that dont ride ebikes....what if i wanna go say 13mph or 17mph do i have the ability to do that?
when i first got my sinch i would cruize pas2 at about 15 mph , now with stronger legs i go about 18mph . you do have ability to adjust speed by amount of pedaling
Would my 5'3" wife enjoy the step through M/L size?
Probably not. The Medium is recommended for a minimum height of 5'7". The small is the better choice. -JT
I saw one of these bikes at a shop here in town and I'm curios why the chain is really different, it didn't seem like it had any lube and was really course to the touch, can you explain thanks!
Sorry John, I'm not sure why it would be coarse. Typically the chains come pre-lubed though.
@@EbikeEscape it felt like sandpaper, did you touch it?
Hail from AZ YTer
do you have a bike stand that you would recommend for this Step thru Aventure?
In my opinion, there isn't a great budget one that really can stand up to heavy ebikes like the Aventure. I personally use this one from Park Tool which might be overkill for the home mechanic but it works great (affiliate link): amzn.to/3lr8tNe
@@EbikeEscape Thanks for the recommendation. Yeah, i too, was looking through some of the less expensive options, but not certain i want to take the chance with those
Hi, what size frame would I order for my Wife who stands at only 5' 2"? TY
Found the answer on the site you provided. Would be a S/M for that height. Thanks for all the links, especially the discount codes.
Hi Dean, yes definitely a small!
S/M frame
Is the throttle works with variable speed or just go full speed when pressed? Mine goes full throttle even with the slightest press that i almost fall off from stationary position
i noticed a strap around the battery? Not staying secure?
It fell out once, not sure if it was a user error but just being extra cautious. I always pull on the battery now ensuring it is secure.
@@EbikeEscape I’ve been looking at ebikes and watching your reviews. They all seem pretty heavy, 60-70 pounds Looking for quality and reliable. I’ve been between this bike and a few folding models. Thoughts?

Still waiting for my replacement rear fender stays. I guess if you do or don't have a RUclips channel, it changes things.
We too plan to add an adjustable stem and one fender rod was bent but it did bend back nicely. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Al!
If it makes you feel any better we paid for this ebike and I had to go through support just like anyone else :)

WARNING!! This bike has a VERY short no pedal range. If you want to pedal, get a pedal only bike.
2 grand. No thanks! I can buy a Super 73 ZX for that price.
All depends on what style of bike you want. This feels very different compared to a moped style ebike.
