+Shûhei Hisagi No, I did not. Because I don;t have run out and buy markers and scotch tape to know that a UV light requires UV Diodes. I have a UV Flashlight. it has several normal LED bulbs, and 5 UV ones. they look the same when turned off. Pruple is just the color they use on the glass to partially trap the Ultra Violet Light. Ergo, No actual Ultraviolet Rays, no Blacklight. The highlighter thing works tho. i've done that before myself.

Using tape over a light and coloring it blue and red doesn't make it a blacklight. The blue might have a bit of an affect on the liquid but not nearly as much as a UVa bulb. The power is significantly less and will not work for most purposes. Buy a 24 inch black light they're $15 and you will see a real glow.
