I was watching SNL when the picture incident happened. I was about 15 and a Catholic school girl. I was horrified. Later as and adult and child abuse survivor I found out she was also horribly abused as a child. I understand now why she made such a protest.
She didnt deserve all the back lash that happened...she was trying to bring awareness to something g horrid, and she was right

I didn't agree with Sinead's actions as a younger person back then, admittedly, but I absolutely understand her reasoning and now very much respect her stance as an adult. RIP Sinead!

I can't believe that Miley's infamous Twerking happened a full decade ago. Most of my relatives only know Robin Thicke through this incident, and not because of his music.
But the photoshopped image that replaced Robin Thicke's head with that of Beetlejuice will live on forever lol
I didn't think what she did was bad per se. What I found ridiculous was her trying SO HARD to be edgy.

14:19 I think this episode of Maude is so important. It shows that abortion is healthcare and isn’t always about “careless women.” Two people in a healthy marriage decide to terminate a fetus because carrying it to term wouldn’t be safe for mother or child and is not an easy decision.
I still remember when Negan was first introduced when he killed Abraham and Glen. I was so speechless and shocked, I also remember how viral it went and the fans reaction to their deaths.
I remember being horrified. I stopped watching the show after that episode.
The "wardrobe malfunction" incident demonised Janet Jackson while Justin Timberlake received almost no blowback. A perfect example of misogyny in the entertainment industry.
Yet people are coming for Justins neck now, but Janet has said a million times it wasn't Justin's fault at all.

I'm from Brazil and trust me, the only wrong thing about that Simpsons' episode was the monkeys on streets and rats, we don't have those walking freely. But the rest, especially today, are very accurate.

I think it's very upsetting that so many female actresses coming off of being a Disney "princess" feel the need to immediately go to X-rated acts to show they're adults now. Hilary & Haley Duff didn't, Aly and AJ Michalka didn't....Raven Symone, Christy Carlson Romano, and of course, Zendaya, all matured without going crazy. Miley is so damned talented, that was so sad to see.
True but you got to realize..some of these kids were being pushed into showbiz. Billy Ray even admitted to pushing Miley Into it. Everyone knows how controversial Disney is and what gones on behind the scenes . These kids really didn't have a choice and being forced into something you don't want to do will cause you to be rebellious.. speaking from experience

An honorable mention should go to the Beavis and Butthead episode "Heroes". And I don't know if this counts. But what the interracial kiss between Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Uhura in 1968 in the Star Trek episode "Plato's Stepchildren"?
That Star Trek episode definitely should've been on this list.

i never understood, like in the case of the seinfeld episode mentioned, when a character does something dispacable and all the other characters call them out on it, its kind of the point that what the person did was bad. for people in the real world then to get even more upset its like, well, its like getting mad at a superhero villain for being too villainous. idk how else to really describe it, but when did it not become ok to have characters with flaws, when did they start getting mad that Bad Guys do bad guy stuff, or that heros aren't always pure and perfect?

When Jessica Simpson and Beyonce were accused of lip-synching their music with Beyonce the national anthem and when Rosanne sang the song and was accused of disrespecting the flag when she attempted to spit like a ball player.

Watched The Sopranos for the first time last year. When I got to the ending and the screen went black I literally cried like a baby and just said “damn it Tony!” Never will there be another James Gandolfini you’re missed the only and only Anthony Soprano ❤️

Tbh I thought the Puerto Rican day parade episode was actually kinda funny. That said, you gotta take pride out of the equation.
It was hilarious it’s only highlighting Kramers idiocy… people are either bored or too stupid and sensitive. Me being Latino , I see a lot of people being overly patriotic to the point they over look their respective countries flaws. No one people are perfect and being able to laugh at each other is a true joy of life . Too many people are simply angry for the heck of it.

#3 -- How come when this is brought up, hardly anyone mentions that Muhammad was freely shown in the "Super Best Friends" episode and (almost?) no one at the time gave it a second thought.
In an earlier episode they tell Tony death is like an off switch, it just goes to black. Then he is shot and it just fades to black..
Re The Sopranos cutting to black. There is a brilliant Australian show called Mr Inbetween which also cuts to black at the final scene of season 3. If you haven't seen it, watch it ASAP !

I still don't think that there could have been a better ending to The Sopranos. (Except maybe for Bojack Horseman, "Tony marries doctor Melfi!? Mamma mia!!!" lol). It said what it had to say, no matter if Tony died at that point, he was going to be paranoid and believe that death could be coming from anyone from that point on.
