Dude. Christmas of 2020 in Japan. Even from what I remember learning about the world and how everyone was affected by the pandy, I still cannot imagine what that would’ve been like. They cracked down hard and didn’t relent longer than most of the world.
In japan, Christmas more like, having fun. Not about religion event, Especialy for couple. They HS in Christmas 😅 Idk why its like that, maybe one of those propaganda in the past? They hate religion/cult stuff (especially from outside of japan). Origin japanese religion is shinto/hindu. But in heisei era, more and more japanese is atheist, or doesn't even care about religion stuff. They just see some religion event for having fun, or just tradition. I believe they doesn't really like religion because of those scam, like cult scam. Door to door sale, recruiting member, pay for some scam produck (like holly water, participate fee, etc).
They have a long history of not really liking religious stuff dating back to the Edo era but idk if it was for scam reasons though. They use to trade with Spain and Portugal, but then would eventually prohibit them from trading with them after the Christian missionaries wanted to spread Christianity. Which is why during that time, they only really traded with the Dutch since they would seek economic profits over spreading religion. It's not exclusive to certain religions either. In the 8th century, the Emperor moved the capital from Nara to Kyoto because Buddhism became too influential in Nara and they feared political interference. Ironically though, you see quite a bit of Buddhist temples in Kyoto Japan today though which I noticed when I visited

So yes, it was a bad move, but smart one, so 🤷
It was actually American soldiers not having easy access to Turkey so they settled on chicken and then KFC just capitalized on that tradition to make it what it is today.
People talking about KFC being crazy for this clearly are unaware that Coca Cola did the exact same thing when they made Santa/Father Christmas wear Red instead of Green
I legit did eat KFC for Christmas each year… kind of. Several family members came down early for Christmas each year and as there would be so much cooking the day of, no one wanted to cook. So getting KFC WAS a legit tradition of mine!
I've also heard that the Japanese associate Christmas with chicken, and one of the only places that used to sell big portions of chicken was KFC. So it may or may not be marketing that made KFC popular at Christmas in Japan.
I'd heard about this, but never really believed. My hubby and I got stuck in Tokyo one Christmas due to flight cancellations and decided to make merry of it. The lines of people at KFC take-out were amazing. Funny thing, the Japanese now know that eating KFC isn't a western tradition, but it's become theirs. Having no Christmas history of their own, they own to no religious significance. It's just a fun holiday for them.

Dude. Christmas of 2020 in Japan. Even from what I remember learning about the world and how everyone was affected by the pandy, I still cannot imagine what that would’ve been like. They cracked down hard and didn’t relent longer than most of the world.
In Canada KFC is synonymous with picnics
In japan, Christmas more like, having fun. Not about religion event, Especialy for couple. They HS in Christmas 😅
Idk why its like that, maybe one of those propaganda in the past? They hate religion/cult stuff (especially from outside of japan). Origin japanese religion is shinto/hindu. But in heisei era, more and more japanese is atheist, or doesn't even care about religion stuff. They just see some religion event for having fun, or just tradition.
I believe they doesn't really like religion because of those scam, like cult scam. Door to door sale, recruiting member, pay for some scam produck (like holly water, participate fee, etc).
HS? whats that?

@@Dragonking-m6q h4ving s3x. Look this is why i hate yt filter. They filter every word.

A single tear would come to my eyes if on Christmas there was people who cared let alone bought kfc having people in ur life would be neat
Now I recently learned that KFC is one of the least favorite fast food chains in America. It's apparently more popular in Asia.
I had it in Colombia it’s 10x better
KFC Slaps 🍗 👋
KFC chicken nuggets are legit the best nuggets I've had yet from any fast food spot. Their chicken is just average compared to the nuggets lmao
Ok, if KFC actually did this every Christmas and I didn't have to cook. I'm all for it.

CAN I have
1 layers of wings
1 layer of Flaming wraps
1 layer of popcorn chicken
1 layer of boneless tender chicken strips.
And 12 dipping sauces spicy mayo
Honestly it's not bad
Started a lovely tradition. Birds, beautiful plates and extravagant desserts.
That doesn’t sound like a trick, that’d be a perfect little compliment to a holiday meal
I would order it just for that beautiful tiramisu except that in the USA it will likely be filled with unthinkable chemicals they don’t use in the Japanese version as always 😢
I wannnttt can we in America eat kfc every Christmas like the Japanese?!!
Tbf no one’s stopping ya. 😂
(Canada doesn’t have something NEARLY this fancy, but our KFCs do include a cheesecake with buckets around the holidays)
I remember one year for thanksgiving no one had prepared anything for the meal so we decided to dip out to kfc and get a few family meals, one of my favorite childhood memories
I never ate nor met anyone who eats kfc for Christmas dinner
Where are you from?

Do you know me?
That's a dam lie, everything is closed on Christmas in America except Walmart and quick stops and convenience stores
Don’t forget Chinese restaurants
Japanese people get the KFC in Christmas Eve, not Christmas.
my Walmart closes on Christmas
A grocery store and McDonald's are open in my town on Christmas.
They are open on Christmas they just close early
I mean that is just clever marketing.
Every KFC here closes during Christmas. The only Christmas friendly was Subway.
The only way to be Christmas friendly is to be closed on Christmas
Is Waffle House closed or open on Christmas?
We went to a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Eve
And yet people say fast food employees don't deserve 20.00/hr but people want fast food employees to work on a holiday like Christmas instead spending time with their own family.
Christmas is the only day kfc closes in 🇹🇹
Remember, they make the food better over there.
General Mills did the same thing to the UK, as apparently an American breakfast in England is a bowl of cereal.
Yes
This whole vid had me ROLLING ON THE FLOOR 💀💀💀💀 no fkn way man
This is actually pretty nice..looks good

Well, it was fraudulent advertising but now japenese people do know that it's not < a tradition in USA > but they still do it because now it is a tradition in Japan for families, couples and friends for Christmas and they enjoy it as KFC also works each year to have an original box each year .... So yes, it was a bad move, but smart one, so 🤷
It was actually American soldiers not having easy access to Turkey so they settled on chicken and then KFC just capitalized on that tradition to make it what it is today.
This is a real tradition, it's a pity there isn't one in my country.
Tbh this is much more better than getting nothing on Christmas
I don't know if everyone else in the US had kfc for Christmas, but that actually was tradition for me.
I’m from America and this is a good representation of my country 🤙🏻
People talking about KFC being crazy for this clearly are unaware that Coca Cola did the exact same thing when they made Santa/Father Christmas wear Red instead of Green
That was how any tradition started anywhere arround the world.
I legit did eat KFC for Christmas each year… kind of. Several family members came down early for Christmas each year and as there would be so much cooking the day of, no one wanted to cook. So getting KFC WAS a legit tradition of mine!
That KFC is way better then ours, also since when has KFC been Christmas tradition, can we start it now, i seriously want that teramesu cake 😅
Lol this is seriously heartwarming.
I would be fine with KFC for Christmas TBH. Wouldn’t complain one bit.
Brilliant they should offer this in the states.
i feel like its a bit far but i want christmas like this 😔
I've also heard that the Japanese associate Christmas with chicken, and one of the only places that used to sell big portions of chicken was KFC. So it may or may not be marketing that made KFC popular at Christmas in Japan.
Nah, coke is the ultimate Christmas marketing Monopoly 🎁🎄
I would love this tbh. The plate is super cute.
This seriously needs to be done in Canada, just for the plates 😆 so cool
Why the fuk are they not doing it here in the US? It looks awesome.
Man that sounds like a great idea
Xmas in Japan = KFC chicken dinner + love hotel
It’s very cute I wish the US had this tradition
That's the most Japanese looking romanji handwriting on that note.😂
"nooo , they wouldn't lie to you " 😅😂😂😂😂😂😮
Well cereal companies conviced us that breakfast was "the most important meal of the day"
I've been to Japan twice and their American fast food chains are just on another level than their American counterparts.
That is just 👌. They make it beautifully.
They need to bring that here!!!
