For those curious, school days are from 0530-1600 everyday. Only Army has unit PT. Every other branch is left alone and trusted to stay in shape on their own. If you wanna join EOD straight away, don’t go Marines. You have to put in a whole enlistment first before you can be eligible to lat move into EOD. The navy have the most “high speed” pipe line. Navy techs will go through dive school, surface AND underwater EOD school, then jump school. There maybe a few schools I missed, but those are the wave tops. So it’s cool if you want to get all the qualifications, but remember a longer pipeline equates way more chances for you to fail out. And if you fail out in the navy, you will most likely spend the rest of you days scraping paint off a ship. So proceed with caution. Air Force and army just do surface EOD school and then hit the fleet. Marines are now breaking into some underwear territory. They are starting to send LEON (Littoral Explosive Ordnance Neutralization) Marines to dive and underwater. But it’s not a solid pipeline like the navy. The only LEON platoon is at Camp Pendleton. So you have to get stationed there after you graduate Surface school to even get a chance to join the program. And LEON is still in its infancy stage, so they don’t have a ton of work yet.
    Surface school has 8 sections:
    Demolition
    Tools and Methods
    CORE
    Ground
    Air
    IEDs
    Biological/Chemical Weapons
    Radiological/Nuclear Devices
Air and IEDs are the longest and see the most failures.
The TLDR: EOD school isn’t crazy hard, it’s just ridiculous easy to fail. - From a current student.

Demolition, tools and methods, CORE, ground ordnance division, air ordnance division, IEDs, biological chemical, RNDs (nukes). Those are the order of the divisions at navscoleod coming from a student going through right now.

Starting my Navy EOD pipeline soon. Stuck in a holding unit at RTC but preparing for CEODD while I'm here. The Navy pipeline consists of Dive Prep and Selection at CEODD here in Great Lakes, IL. If you make it then you go to dive school down in Panama City, FL for 9 weeks, then Eglin for about 48 weeks. After that is jump school at Fort Benning, GA for 3 weeks and finally Tactical School in San Diego, CA for another 3 weeks. Overall it's a very long pipeline, I believe Navy EOD is the longest but if you make it through it's obviously fun. If you don't think you want to dive I'd recommend Army or AF. Really looking forward to starting this journey, the job is sick af and can easily be transitioned into civilian life. If anyone has questions about what the Physical requirements are just ask. Its very physically demanding but rewarding at the same time.

Any idea how this translates to the reserve component? I don't imagine it's an option but it would be nice to lat move out of Ammo since it's already in the 23xx field
