It's an awesome plant and I have two in my aquarium...! Just like Anubias don't burry the rhizome but keep it close to the substrate where roots can reach it easily....! There is one more species which we found locally called as Laganendra "Tenkasi" with bigger leaves!
Unbelievable, I was searching for this video 2 days ago as I found what looked like a rhizome in the root system in a pot of Lagenandra Meeboldii Red. Wasn't sure what to do with it, so I took a gamble and decided to split the rhizome as I use to do with Anubias or Javafern. Anyone know if that's the way to go?
Hi Dennis. It is indeed quite tricky to propagate. You need a bit of patience and sharp scissors in some cases. Try to cut the mini "stems" in such a way not to damage the mini root system; it's not easy but not impossible either. Good luck!

@@TropicaAquariumPlants im sorry i mean lagenandra rhizome especially meeboldii red , the rhizome part looks very similar to anubias..i mean should i treat it like anubias? or i can plant it into the substrate? i heard ppl says if the rhizome not exposed they will rot like anubias..is it true? i need insight because there aren't many information about this plant

Sorry to rehash an old question, but I was also wondering about the rhizome. I have it as deeply rooted into the substrate as to not be able to see the rhizome anymore, just each stem coming out of the substrate. Is this okay for the plant?
I have been struggling to find the right home in my tank for mine, so I've messed with it a fair bit. I've gone from a single plant now to at least 4 or 5 in about 3 months time, simply by pulling it apart with my hands. That said, with so much disruption, I have very very small plants. Largest leaves I've had so far are the size of my big thumb (I do have big fingers). Mine are in the substrate, not planted like anubias.
I have bleeding heart variety of this .. they are more beutifull than red variety.. under very low light it had white silvery like leaf with olive green strip.. almost look like indoor prayer plant .. under bright light silvery white color turns to a color btween pink and violet

Interesting idea Frankie although we might have to rename it "CO2 system macro" as it'd be three times the "nano". Who knows what the future will bring though?!

@@vance401 i plant deeply into substrate (like i usually did for my crypt and echinodorus) it grow just fine no rot whatsoever

@@79dave so they spread like cryptocoryne in those tissue culture cups i guess. I have got cryptocoryne wendtii they spread by runners.

i have a product idea : bigger cylinder for the co2 system nano , it will be like 200 - 300 g of co2 little bit bigger but not large .
