I like your style, I've done many different types of patterns and stencils. I have found that a light coat mist of matt clear at the end helps it cure better (less sticky). Nice job!
For some good ‘field yellow’ options I’ve found some of the Montana Black series of paint colors work well. Specifically ‘Gobi’ and ‘Bombay’ are two I’ve used, plus they have great nozzles since they are intended for graffiti ‘artists.’ I like to use Brownell’s Alumahyde II in whatever color is around for a base coat and then also use the Alumahyde clear matte as the final coat since I’ve found it to cure harder and be more resistant to solvents than other rattle can products. It takes longer to cure, often a couple weeks, but you end up with a tougher finish protecting the other colors you use in between your base coat and clear coat.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to plan such a comprehensive camo video I really enjoyed as it was full of little relevant nuggets of info and IMO your carbine turned out great.
Freaking sick. .sometimes you have to know when to stop. I've had to touch up numerous RATTLE can jobs because I tried to do too much. I personally like using just 3 colors when painting but you are right sky is the limit and super hard to mess up .
I’m lazy, I combine the shaking and warming of the cans by wrapping them in shop towels and securing with paracord and throw them in the dryer for 15/20 minutes. Warm well shaken rattle cans and no mad wife because I used the “good” towels😂
It’s hard to find but rust oleum makes a Sand color ( yellowish ) I use a lot I’ve only ever seen it Menards, and Tractor supply has a nice line of camo paint , that’s where I get my red/browns I use
I gotta be honest, these videos are cringe and its not rocket science, however this was actually the best one ive ever seen. Just little nuggets of info that will help someout. Probably the first painting a gun video I thumbs 👍 and liked
I have an old Bushmaster 14.5 pre ban rebuild with BCM guts and a KA drop in quad with the rear sight wacked off the handel and a Trijicon MRO patrol, i painted it and it looked awesome! But its kinda bled out ? Like faded , im going keep whats on it as a base and do a tiger strip patern and use some sponge brushes, heres the big issue? I own a Daniel Defense MK18 that bronzeish color ... with a ACOG.... i thought about saying fuk it and paint that fuker ... we are in some interesting times , might be worth it , shit goes out the window , its my go to if im never going back
Some paints hold up better than others. Some will burn off pretty good. It will patina/discolor pretty quick and then whats left pretty much be baked on. If you mag dump or run full auto, it will most likely burn off or turn to a pinkish color.
Love rattle cans. Just did a bcm 14.5 with a green and tan mix from a delta force guy's gun i saw and thought it looked cool. it was a 416. Much cooler than my gasser but i think it came out great and goes well with this ddc geissele mk8 rail
Hk416 is way overrated in 2024. The reason it exists at all is because 10.5" ARs weren't reliable in the early 2000's but now they're very reliable. A block 2 Mk18 weighs less and shoots softer than a 416 because the 416 is very overgassed. I'd take a Mk18, URGI 11.5, KAC sr15, BCM 11.5", etc over a 416 any day unless the 416 was just to be a historical clone. Stoner knew what he was doing. He didn't put a short stroke piston operating system in his AR-15 design for a reason.
THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME! 🙌🏻😂
🤘
Was refreshing to see you use different earth tones instead of only cans that said “camouflage”. Enjoyed!
Thank you!
Crazy how that doily looks like a legit camo-pattern.
It was meant to be lol
Outstanding painting!

Shes a keeper 😂
So cringe that he keeps watching them… 😂😂
@KevinMcGrath-777I thought I was the only one who did that. 😂 You can get some real good patterns out of a pair of women's panties

The brown DD will get the job done. You can always paint it when the time comes if you are on the fence about it 🤙
🎉

how you paint your supressors? or how does the colour hold on it :)?
Some paints hold up better than others. Some will burn off pretty good. It will patina/discolor pretty quick and then whats left pretty much be baked on. If you mag dump or run full auto, it will most likely burn off or turn to a pinkish color.
there are some automotive paints and high heat enamels that will hold up better over time for suppressors as well
Don’t want a really solid base just light 🤣
Haha yup. To clarify, It doesn't need to be a heavy coat. Just enough coverage to get things going. The other colors will fill in any light spots.

Looks like you changed out the grip to a non painted B5
Magpul k2+. I use the a2 as a place holder while painting. The k2 is rubberized and doesnt do well painted.
Literally explains this 2 minutes into the video.
