Honestly I really like the first half of Crystalized (the second half and even the finale is boring and missed potencial), but I agree Harumi should have stayed dead and Pythor should have been the buyer. Harumi is overrated and pretty annoying so having her as the right hand of the Overlord here pisses me off. I mean Pythor was the only true answer to this (was gone for several seasons so there was some build up, was the first villain to use the vengestone against the ninja, has a history of helping the Overlord and being his best and very loyal ally, etc.). But I would be fine if they at least mentioned he helped the Overlord before Harumi or had some conection to the Overlord before or that he is responsible for releasing the Devourer, or even giving him some freaking screen time! I like Crystalized but they butchered his and Harumi’s character.
I personally strongly dislike Crystallized. The first and second half equally. I keep thinking about making a long video dissecting the season, and why it feels in almost every way imo but I honestly don’t have the mental strength to rewatch it right now😅. But it is a video I want to make eventually
Its weird that pythor never had an single interaction with harumia he pretty much killed her parents. and also the over lord creating the great devour was an lazy idea just for harumia to turn good
The idea of the Overlord creating the Great Devourer was around long before Crystalized. It was first mentioned in the comic "Tomb of the Fangpyre" in which the Devourer was a normal snake infected with the Overlord's darkness. While the comic most likely isn't canon, the Devourer and the Overlord are hinted to be connected in the show. It was the Overlord's defeat, not the Devourer's, that freed Garmadon from his corruption. The Devourer's venom corrupts people into becoming evil, one of the Overlord's signature abilities. The Devourer has glowing purple eyes, like the Overlord and his corrupted minions. Though this idea could've been handled better in Crystalized. Like for example, the Overlord bringing it back to life. If he can give life to literal piles of stone to make an indestructible army, twice, why can't he use those powers on something else, like a giant dead snake he already mutated into his minion.
@@akilialvarado again, the Overlord was the Devourer's creator in the comic, but the comic isn't canon. It wasn't confirmed until Crystalized but it was hinted that there was a connection between the two. Why would the Overlord's defeat free Garmadon if he wasn't corrupted by him? Why would the Devourer's venom turn people evil, similar to the Overlord's own corruption? Oh yeah they should've done some sort of conflict between Pythor and Harumi. In fact, all the villains were wasted. Other than his motives being changed from "conquer one world" to "take over all worlds and corrupt creation itself"(which is more like retconning it to be his motive in the earlier seasons), the Overlord does the same damn thing in season 2 (enlisting previous villains as his generals, creating an invincible army made of stone, corrupting people into mindless evil minions), and the other villains don't do anything of note other than being the Overlord's lackeys. Pythor never mentions that he was the one that awakened the Devourer in the first place, which, combined with the Overlord being the snake's creator, probably would've been a better, of a reason for Harumi to defect, nor does he have a reaction to the fact that the Crystal King is the Overlord, the guy he worked for before.
I liked crystalised but I agree that the vengestone buyer should've been pythor, him and the overlord were an awesome duo and technically pythor was helping him since season 1 even though he didn't know it. I also see why harumi made sense, the overlord could easily meet her since she was in between life and death and she's known for resurrecting dark lords
I agree with everything you said in this video. (Besides Fugi-Dove.) In my private rewrite however, I made the Vengestone buyer someone else: Mr. E. To explain the context: In my alternate timeline, Mr. E actually is Echo Zane which was the original plan, but it got scrapped, turning both characters into pointless bags of nothing. I fixed that by making Harumi rebuild Mr. E off-screen, so that he could return and manipulate the ninja: Every adventure of them after Season 10 was at least partially orchestrated by him. Because of this change, I made Zane the main character of Crystalized instead of Lloyd. What do you think?
When they brought back Mr. E in crystallized as Mr. F I was really hoping they were going to revisit the idea of him being echo Zane…… but they didn’t. so once again Mr. E was just a big bag of nothing. what makes it even worse is that in the first episode of crystalized, Jay is at Dr. Julian’s lighthouse and echo Zane isn’t there for some reason. I thought that was foreshadowing but it wasn’t and I guess the writers just forgot about him. My question with your idea is how would have Mr. E orchestrated Every adventure they’ve gone on since season 10?
@@theghostwiththemost789 About Echo Zane in Crystalized: I agree, but also did some research: Apparently, his fate was revealed in a canon comic taking place directly before Crystalized: He, Tai-D and the Falcon were so inspired by Jay‘s adventures that they formed their own crew. Which is such a fucking lame conclusion for them I can only imagine Godzilla facepalming whenever I think about it. About Echo Zane in My Crystalized: Somewhere after Season 7, the remains of the Overlord found Echo Zane and showed him a vision of Skybound which convinced him to get revenge of the Ninja by allowing the Overlord to possess his body. This Possession transformed him into what we know as Mr. E. After Season 9, they retreated into a cave and did some research leading to the following plan: They helped the Oni during their invasion, leading to the ninja getting lazy and going on the Season 11 adventure which gave them enough time to prepare the rest of the plan: Since Echo Zane heavily related to Unagami (since they’re both robots who were abandoned by their family), he made a small deal with him which was that Echo helped Unagami get in contact with the Mechanic and in turn, Unagami promised to help Echo once he was out of the game. A promise he didn‘t keep. (Now that I think about it: Why didn‘t Unagami tell the ninja? Whoops. Looks like I messed that up a little 😅.) However, the Overlord was impressed by the Mechanic‘s work and decided to keep an eye on him. Season 13 is the most obvious one since Mr. E is the buyer. And Seabound is where the plan really got going: Echo Zane was the one to lead Wu, Clutch, Dwayne and my least favorite Ninjago character to the Island in „The Island“ (Get it?) for a reason I‘ll explain in a second. He was the one who gave Kalmaar the Wave Amulet (since we never actually find out where he got it from, I thought this would be a clever idea) and the reason he lead the team to the Island was because then, they would know the location of the Storm amulet and lead Kalmaar there. All of that lead to Nya‘s sacrifice. Something that Echo Zane planned! For two reasons: 1. It would get revenge on Jay, who is the most responsible for everyone forgetting about Echo Zane and 2. it would leave the team in a weakened state. Wow, that was a long one. I personally hate crystallized. The animation and voice acting is amazing. The problem is the writing. It threw away all of the potential from the ending from Seabound and tainted that seasons amazing ending by making Nyas sacrifice meaningless because she could apparently just come back the entire time, it reuses the prison arc from Skybound and does it worse, brought Pythor back into the show in a super underwhelming way, multiple continuity errors, assassinated Lloyd’s and Harumi’s characters, reduced Nya to a taxi driver and completely ignored her 14 season arc prior to the season, introduced so many unnecessary new characters, Wu knowing the entire time that the overlord was going to return and never mentioning it once is so stupid, and not to mention the fact that apparently the overlord can’t die, which is a decision that I absolutely hate because that means the overlord can literally come back anytime even though he’s the most boring villain in the show and inner steel playing over the final scene instead of the overture just felt like a slap to the face. There’s even more I could ramble on about but I’m just gonna stop here. I’m really glad you could enjoy the season but I just can’t😅
Skybound also would've happened differently because Djinjago would still exist. But every season after Hunted would still have happened. (Exept maybe Garmadon would not have been there in S10, so the Oni probably won) Wauw, Lloyd really is the cause of everything... But you could also bring it back to Garmadon stealing the letter from Wu. If that would not have happened, Lloyd would not have existed... Or just Garmadon becoming evil.
the other reason is what they done to harumi s character make her a vilain after she realized her mistakes and sacrifised her self to save a family like her own she should be have been a lloyds and ninjas alie not their enemy
think when Lloyd would have freed the snake tribes Garmadon would have done it (simular to the conceptart) and Chens Story would have also happend wildbrain seasons would all have happen just the first seasons are really conected to Lloyd
Well some of the stuff definitely would’ve still happened, A lot of it did only happen because Lloyd released the Serpentine. He is solely responsible for a lot of the bad things that happen in the first 10 seasons of the show. Weather someone else would’ve freed them eventually or not doesn’t really matter because at the end of the day, it’s still his fault
@@theghostwiththemost789 think it would have been an interesting dynamic with Garmadon him trying to cheer Llyod up and actually show that LLyods fault had also good things like peace with the serpentines and other things (...) S12 Island-S + Seabound-S If the Ninja still could have defet them is an other question but with Llyod as a god who knows or if he would have given the other theirs powers after Chens tournement?
You made a grave mistake my friend: you thought the writers were smart, the buyer was Harumi because Harumi was popular, so they needed to milk and ruin her, and she wasn't some monstrous creature or being of pure darkness, so that means she needs to be redeemed, never mind the fact that she's one of the most evil and most dangerous villains in the shows history.
I don’t think the writers are stupid. The Ninjago writers have proven themselves to be capable of writing amazing stories, but I have definitely lost a lot of faith in them after crystallized. Harumi should’ve stayed dead and should have never gotten redeemed. It also doesn’t help that they completely assassinated her character while they were at it

The fact that they planed to make Pythor the buyer but didnt us crazy
Man had to do my Fugitive like that
I have to say this fugiduve would have been an cool twist villain
If he was the buyer I think I would’ve committed mass genocide
Skybound also would've happened differently because Djinjago would still exist. But every season after Hunted would still have happened. (Exept maybe Garmadon would not have been there in S10, so the Oni probably won)
Wauw, Lloyd really is the cause of everything... But you could also bring it back to Garmadon stealing the letter from Wu. If that would not have happened, Lloyd would not have existed... Or just Garmadon becoming evil.
When you make why crystalized is horrible can you compare it to the rise of so called skywalker now please!?
I haven’t seen that movie. I’ve heard it’s terrible though. I’ve never been that big of a Star Wars fan😅
@@theghostwiththemost789 you lucky duck
@@zachgreenwood202 my girlfriend is a Star Wars fan though. So she had to suffer through that
this is one of two reasons why i hate crystalized
What’s the other reason?
the other reason is what they done to harumi s character make her a vilain after she realized her mistakes and sacrifised her self to save a family like her own she should be have been a lloyds and ninjas alie not their enemy
think when Lloyd would have freed the snake tribes Garmadon would have done it (simular to the conceptart)
and Chens Story would have also happend
wildbrain seasons would all have happen just the first seasons are really conected to Lloyd
@@theghostwiththemost789 think it would have been an interesting dynamic with Garmadon him trying to cheer Llyod up and actually show that LLyods fault had also good things
like peace with the serpentines and other things (...)
Garmadon (status unknown)
the seasons that would have happend without Llyod freeing the serpentins would be only (because of a chain reaction):
S4 (Golden Power ? who knows if Chen would have even invited him)
S7
S11 (???????)
S12
Island-S + Seabound-S
If the Ninja still could have defet them is an other question but with Llyod as a god who knows or if he would have given the other theirs powers after Chens tournement?
Remember, if Lloyd never opened 1 tomb, it would be the pilot to season 7
@Pacicide Jane yea only some of the 1st episode
why ya do my man Fugi dove dirty ghost man
I’m sorry but I hate him with a passion
It also doesn’t help that they completely assassinated her character while they were at it
@@theghostwiththemost789 it's hard to believe these are the same writers, it seems like they never even watched the show.
@@samaron8970Eh I think her reveal and redemption works it's just the aftermath that needs more work but I think the writing wasn't so bad
@@kwayneboy1524 Uh... ok, you opinion IG
