There's some irony there you think. State governments pass aggressive laws against price gouging in times of emergency but then out bid each other to compete for scarce resources. It would be interesting to see states respond to federal legislation that would restrict manufacturers to a fixed and arbitrary quantity of particular items regardless of need - so reflective of many (arbitrary) state laws already on the books against it's own residents.

Laws against price gouging are not laws against AMOUNT of purchases. Under those rules, States can still order as much as they need, their residents would simply not be scammed by the sellers.
And yes, agencies like FEMA could judge where supplies are most needed and act as judges if a dispute over a purchase between states arrises. They already are in charge of managing emergency or disaster assistance. Its perfectly under their job description to make decisions like that one.

Cochrane was devastatlingly wrong about markets and the economy following the great recessions. I'm not optimistic about him being correct here. He's too ideological.

Is Cochrane too thin or I'm imagining?

How is it that the Fed can print and loan money when they have no legal rights to do so?! Explain this one to me and then maybe I will buy whatever else you might say!
And another thing the people have never gotten anything free from anybody the only people that’s ever been bailed out and helped out for the past hundred years I’ve been all these big businesses so explain this one to me too?!
And that includes the Fed?! All these banks have been helped out and where did all that money go to down the freaking dream or in their secret bank account! So if you want to be grumpy about something being grumpy about that and start telling the truth about what’s really going on!

Considering the Fed and IRS are owned by the same people how would this be of service to anyone?!

It’s kind a hard to keep 3 to 6 months income around when you guys have us working like dogs without any good pay or benefits like you all have! I’ve known people that went to school for years and they have nothing just like the rest of us! Plan was to keep everybody in debt just like they liked us working fools! I’m here to say were full is no longer we know what the game is and you all seem to be part of it!

This man’s pattern of speech is very annoying. His always raises his voice at the beginning of his speech then it gradually decreases towards the end of the sentence then it peaks again at the beginning of a new sentence. Driving me crazy. Man!
