Just absolutely stunning! Thank you so much! No music, no commentary, no graphics ...just raw pure footage. It does not get better than this. If it was the entire 4 hours, I still would have watched it all. On an unrelated note, it still amazes me just how good the Nordschleife looks in GT5. Add better suspensions, bugs on the windscreen, better raw sound and virtual reality will have come within a hair's breath of imitating reality ...
so brutal, this older race videos have such a brutal feeling of savage racing, look at how the Lambo and the Corvette touch each other, so awesome, such a brutal duel. Back when limitaitions were less and skill was needed.

Ohne Witz, das Video ist schon sau alt... und ich finde es richtig stark. Ich hab es schon so oft gesehen, aber ich entdecke immer wieder neue Details. Es ist und bleibt ein geiler Zeitzeuge der VLN ! Heutige Onboards sind natürlich auch toll, aber aus dieser Zeit wie hier zu sehen, mit richtig Arbeit am Volant, ja das liebe Freunde ist etwas echt rares. yes indeed he did more than he should to alert the Porsche driver... we can also agree that the Porsche driver was a bit distracted since he started loosing oil on the rear tire a lot before and he almost lost control a couple of times and even bumped on the Z4 due to the lack of grip, then finally the oil was ignited by the rear brake temperature and still he wasn't aware of the problem... quite a dumb driver

Dude only needs about 25 more HP and he's got all their lunches! In typical Bimmer fashion, we wait on everyone in the turns but get pulled in the straights. So frustrating sometimes. Great Drive

Schall hat's ja gleich beiden gezeigt wie man ueberholt! Hahne hat seine besten Jahre sicherlich hinter sich. Baeder fehlt die Erfahrung, zumindest am Ring. Beim Ueberrunden schoen hinten angestellt, zu viel gezoegert. So gewinnt man eben keine Rennen, Der Rempler war laengst faellig aber in umgekehrter Reihenfolge! Beide verdient ausgeschieden
Ich finde es richtig gut mit anzusehen wie er dem Porsche hinterher fährt um ihm zu Signalisieren das sein Auto Feuer gefangen hat anstatt einfach dran vorbei zu fahren
Nach wie vor spannender als jeder Sonntagskrimi !! Ich war hinterher mindestens genauso fertig, wie Michael Bäder selbst :-) ... zum Glück hat der Porsche noch seine 'gerechte' Strafe bekommen, dafür das er das halbe Rennen nur im Weg rumgestanden hat. Der Z4 ist auf der Nordschleife eindeutig das bessere Auto gewesen.
@@jpk0665, wenn man es genau nimmt, ist es eine sequentielle Schaltung. Ein richtiger Handschalter, wo man dann auch noch selbst kuppeln muss, wäre nochmal eine Ecke schwieriger.
Wunderschön zu sehen, welch geile Fahrmaschine der Z4 in den langsameren, engeren Streckenabschnitten ist. Die Corvette und die Porsches sind ja eher geradeaus schnell ;)
BEST video I have seen on RUclips in a loooong while!! As an amateur racer I can somewhat relate to the thrills, adrenaline, stress and pressure these guys are going through. Some top class racing! 👍
Wow- I was recouping from surgery when I found this gem of an in-car video. What a riveting display of driving intensity! I'm very impressed not only by Mr. Baeder's driving skills but even more so by his patience- especially towards Porsche driver Hahne, who failed multiple times to realize that he was holding Baeder up and making errors slowing them both down. I can't categorize Hahne's behavior after his Porsche catches on fire as anything else as completely unprofessional done only to endan
Vielen Dank für das Video. Wirklich sauber gefahren und sehr beherrscht. Hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Nicht sehr fair wie sich die anderen verhalten die doch eindeutig langsamer sind. Sich dann aber vermutlich, anhand der Platzierung, brüsten wie schnell sie doch sind. Mich hat der Reifenschaden am blau-weißen gefreut, gerechte Strafe. Viele Grüße und nochmal vielen Dank.

This race was pure chaos, we have Polos and Corsas racing at the same time as Gallardos, multiple yellow flag incidents, an actual ambulance and at least two cars on fire but still racing. Nice.
Thanks a lot for this. I loved every second of this video. I think this is by far the best racing footage I have seen in a long long as time. Damn Porsche was blocking him the whole time and at the end had to hit him some how I knew that would happen. Damn... almost almost.... Next time will be better.
Tolles Video und prima Fahrer. Dem Z4 fehlte es im Vergleich ein bisschen an Endgeschwindigkeit. In den Kurven hatte er aber Vorteile. So war der Fahrer mehr damit beschäftigt dem "Manheim" Porsche nicht hinten drauf zu fahren als ihn zu überholen. Ein paar Gelegenheiten gab es. Bisschen später gebremst vor der Kurve oder etwas eher ratsbeschleunigt und es wäre um den Porsche geschehen. Schade.
Er hätte manchmal nicht später, sondern eher bremsen sollen, um dann beim herausbeschleunigen innen reinzustechen. Aber auf der Nordschleife ist die Streckenführung meistens so, dass auf eine Rechts- eine Linkskurve folgt, dann wieder rechts, dann wieder links etc. Da gehen solche Attacken meistens nicht auf, weil du am Eingang der nächsten Kehre dann wieder außen bist.

This is insanely good ... have only time now to watch half a way thru, but this is something to watch over & over for cornering/passing tips. If only there were a display of the tachometer & speedometer!!!!
I think Porsche have more power than BMW (tell me if i'm wrong because i don't know excautly what the rules is in this race but there are a few category of Cars) and a little bit worst in corners but he recovering on the straight, if He let pass BMW on earlier laps BMW will escape on Nordscheife section i think. But for sure that video is great, very exciting and both of driver are fast :D
@@Zoh3rs The Porsche was messing with him. He was using up the whole track, taking lines he was going to slow to need. I think he tried that with that black and yellow car that went by on lap 7. Those ground effects are like razors and cut his tire. That's why he started sliding and the BMW caught up so fast. The Porsche driver was in terminator mode after that, limping home and still hogging the track even with the car on fire. The BMW kept opening the door on braking, going in so wide, and braking early. He could have hung with the Vette (if he could keep up his concentration) but he kept letting slower people by.
Unless this question was answered in the comments somewhere I do apologize, but if you dont mind me asking, wht did he pull into the garage at the end of the video, I mean was there something wrong with the car?

he was lifting off to often! Hesitating too much is no good for a race car driver if he want's to become one...one day!
