At the rear of the cambox/body of that Minimec pump are one definately and sumtimes two 1/2 inch headed bolts that are the same UNF thread as the drain and level plugs you removed. One faces the same way as the level plug you removed and sumtimes theres another that points towards the stern of the boat. Either can be removed and replaced with a longer slotted bolt going thru a banjo fitting connected to a Copper pipe as long as preferred that goes into a collection bottle. This is the overflow and if anything starts dripping from the pipe into the bottle its a sign the pump is making oil, which is from the pump having one or more worn plungers/elements. Whatever oil goes into the engine ( or transmission unless its a Borg Warner, Hurth etc) goes into the pump. Nothing heavier is needed as heavier oils can and will cause hunting upon startup when cold. And they definately dont need and type of oil additive added to then. And if the oil coming out of the pump is ever black the front camshaft seal has gone hard and is also the same reason (unless you have visible external throttle and stop shaft seal leaks) why oil dissapears from the pump between oil changes. Those pumps of Harolds are fitted with washable gauze breathers on the top of the side inspection doors which many engines arnt fitted with. They help with the pumps losing oil thru the front seal by lack of pressure buildup inside the pump body.

A simple task like most if you know how. Harold was wise to learn before getting under way.
