Well done Kez. You can see it week on week that you're progressing and becoming more comfortable racing close with other drivers, almost pushing them through corners. Great to see. Keep going lad
Winning in rookies is very luck reliant, you need a heavenly luck not to be murdered on the start already! The secret recipe for me was keeping a "I want as little incidents as possible mentality". Sometimes this leads me to avoiding fights that I could've died in, sometimes the lad that overtakes me kills someone else. Don't trust anyone on track, take it easy and be smart! Eventually that first win will come!
You're hazard awareness is improving. Having recently started in rookies again but this time in open wheels its scary how crazy some people are. Just drive clean and the pace will come and so will the iRating. Also with the crazies its better to wait for them to make a mistake. Totally right thing to do with that green car btw as he took himself out with the other car and not you.
@@SimRacingKez if you have someone brake checking you and trying to run you off, even double blocking... especially over and over. Record the bits and send them in to IRacing support. They will get reprimanded for it, and probably lose access to racing for 3 or more days. They keep doing it and people turn them in then they will be gone permanently. That way, at least they don't keep doing it. If they do, and people turn them in, they will be gone. Less idiots to deal with. They can do Hot Laps and Time Trials, to cook their jets off, until their ban is up.
@@SimRacingKez wouldn't say you're too close, that's racing at the end of the day. Patience is a virtue when dealing with people who are unpredictable. They usually take themselves out of the race just because you are behind them. My comment on your last video is precisely what they don't do and then they make a mistake which will allow you to get passed safely.
It’s really cool seeing your progression in Iracing. I feel it too since I also just started, it’s nice having the ability to watch someone go through the same things I’m doing.
Enjoying the series! You're getting a lot better at noticing other drivers who are hazards and avoiding them. That's half the battle at low iRatings. Consistency in avoiding incidents (crashes or having big off tracks / spins) will be the difference between where you are at the moment and 1500. I started last season and Winton was my first win in the Mazda and the FF1600.
Great races this week, makes such a difference seeing that my start to iracing wasnt just me doing badly , rookies will always be a scary experience but also so much fun. Keep up the great vids and keep having fun with it.
Definitely a much better job keeping an eye on when the madness was coming. Great job letting green by to see if he’d take out the black car race one. Biggest thing is to clip it all and send all in as reports for intentional wrecking. It was all clear as day and they need some coaching or a ban if they keep it up. All about keeping the community fun, and that stuff ruins it for new people and tenured folks alike.
Another very enjoyable video! These Rookie races are earning you valuable skills in decision making. When behind someone you want to pass, take your time, study the corners they are bad at and then next lap prepare yourself to overtake them. You're doing great :D
Great video again. Best thing you can do in situations with reckless drivers is to just let them pass, usually it’s better to save incident points than 1 or 2 positions👍
@@logan1610 Good to know that mate, I think it's always difficult if you're faster and behind but you're right, better to finish the race than not finish at all!
iRating is just a number Keri, don't worry (too much) about it ;) You're clearly getting better at racing, your reactions to what happens on track are already much more controlled. Keep it up! Also, the 'crazy car' in the first part of this vid could be using a controller or keyboard to drive the car. Not everyone has a wheel, so that could explain some of the erratic movement.
@@aukehaarsma Thanks mate, definitely worrying less about it now, I know it can go up and down erratically. And yeah, I should have known a controller but I genuinely thought you couldn't use one in iRacing. To be fair, that's impressive for a controller!
Just subscribed as really enjoying your content. I have been on iRacing for about 18 months and dipped out after a run of being wiped out by idiots (A license ones!). Decided to get back into iRacing after purchasing a proper rig and decent wheel setup (Moza R16 and wheel). Will be watching your progress with interest and hopefully see you in a race soon.
You're doing a great job making entertaining videos, great to see you improving with each race, as a relative newcomer myself it's good to see. I don't race on iRacing I'm on ACC at the moment, joined my 2 brothers and that's where they were racing. Good luck for your upcoming races.
A good outcome from what appeared to be a challenging week. Good avoidance of crashes as always. My only note is that at the beginner level they are lots of different skill levels. Some might not know where the correct brake point are yet or brake in a different point to you. A helpful approach when following close to a car is to lift a second or so before you think they will brake and just coast briefly then brake it helps keep some spacing in the braking zone and prevent you from running into the back of people. Also just try and learn where the person you are battling is slow so you can try and capitalise on that. Great job and keep up the good work
@@SimRacingKez Yeah just a slight lift is good enough to give the thinking time. Race craft is just time and practice. it will be better with the more races you do and the more you close racing you have.
