I thought so a week ago when I nailed it. Then I thought so yesterday when I nailed the second half of intro. Now I am crying over the 4 fret stretch on the hanger 18 part. This is a tough fucking song.
@@thomasconan389 Actually Kirk plays that part on one string i think. That makes it incredibly easier. Still requires practice though. The sweep part is the hardest in my opinion.
TurtleTortuga Actually I'm pretty sure Nm-Krazy Games is right; The Ride the Lightening recording of this song has Kirk Hammett on lead guitar and the fantastic solo featured is also Hammett.
Grant Jarnagin I think the ending is. I like how this song starts out soft, gradually builds, then becomes heavy, then repeats the intro. The outro is my favorite part of this song.
@@sandenson the part at 4:26 seems a little awkward since he's picking every single note and sliding, rather than the notes being connected in a sweeping arpeggio manner. Nonetheless, its creative and I love people's own spin. I personally have tried using 2 different key played in alternate fashion rather than just the 1 key played four times.
Oh maaaaan. Where is the band hidden? I never heard such flawless cover. I rape my replay button on original version since 4 days as netflix reminded me of this tune, so I'm convinced that there's everything in place. Bravo.
I love it! Such a raw cover. I dig the mistakes and the part where you were like "oh fuck, I didn't flick the toggle switch all the way down". You nailed it man. the leads and solos, errthang! Kudos!!
Mistake at 6:34. Choke artist. Lol. Dude, Honestly though, this is one of the cleanest covers (and THE cleanest solo cover) I’ve ever heard. Extremely talented guitarist.
It's in 6:32. There is also one in 7:27, but man do I feel like an asshole for even pointing this out. This guy is just fantastic, I can only dream to be able to play this song as well as he does.
I always do that intro finger style. Just the way I learned it I suppose. I'm also surprised how you alternate pick the sequence Am into those D chords with the chromatic ascent on the 3rd string instead of an arpeggio style picking. Ok, you've probably realised I'm editing this comment as I go along. Anyway, I find it easier to use my pinky in that distortion rhythm with open D with A, A#, B and C on the third string. Only one hand position needed, more efficient imo. You can hold down that C and swivel the hand from it to get ready to get back to the A5. With all that said, I only ever learned the rhythm guitar to it and you still have an excellent overall technique.
Anant Raman yea Metallica listed him as a songwriter. 0:47 these are the same chords in hanger 18. And he also wrote this part 0:31. He used it on the song When.
@Anant Raman he wrote two chords if I remember correctly in all of RtL, the spider chord here and the beginning of the track RtL otherwise it's all jaymz, lars, kirk and cliff, in no particular order
You are pretty damn awesome bro i remember when i used to play that i was back in the 80s bro that's that's a damn good song bro honestly and you hit it note for note and i'll give you everything on that man honestly i would never be able to play it like that but my size a little bit different but i definitely give you thousand thumbs up bro that's awesome seriously and thank you for letting me listen to it all right just keep
Anyone else get a Mastodon vibe from this song? Some of Mastodons heavier stuff was clearly inspired by Metallica’s more melodic stuff so it would be an interesting full circle kinda thing to know if Metallica were inspired by Mastodons weird, epic, melodic opuses on this one. Great cover, great song, great album, amazing band.
That intro is a struggle, but once you nail it you feel so badass!!
Jason86906 Two years later this is s truee
exactly:)

You aren't kidding. I've strained my hand by trying to learn this today.
im not talent but plz, this is one of the most easy song to play

Only one I think I like more is Seasons in the Abyss.
This song is masterpiece.
4:12 - holy shit, dude! Very nice. Excellent cover all the way around.
Insect Overlord you right that's the most difficult part of the solo

Who are you and What you done with Hammett?!

James Hetfield Ya Hetfield, tell him how to write Hetfield!

TurtleTortuga I am so sorry, I responded to the wrong person hahahaha!!! I mean't to write that to ''James Hetfield ''

It was sarcasm, just being weird.

4:55 is the best part
Grant Jarnagin I think the ending is. I like how this song starts out soft, gradually builds, then becomes heavy, then repeats the intro. The outro is my favorite part of this song.
