    For your predictions:
    I like you starting with the prelims and working your way up. Maybe even start with the very first early prelim and work your way up the card all the way up until the main event since you usually do that order for your main predictions too. Yeah man I think that's best, 'cause we're all here for your whole-card breakdown, honestly. So it should probably follow the same buildup as the card, and for the same reasons.
      As for odds, as mentioned above - I agree with that a lot, but calling your odds on each fight WHEN your discussion of that fight concludes, and is all still fully on our page, is what really matters, so my vote would be to continue as you do now, on that, imho.

    • @kiabtoomlauj6249
      @kiabtoomlauj6249 Год назад +14

      @@Sxhm It doesn't matter. He's a bit too old, a bit too slow, a bit too small, a bit too short, and not strong enough to impose his vaunted D1 against someone as big, prime, strong, and agile as Leon.
      If Usman couldn't, neither on the feet nor no the mat, impose his much larger frame and superior physical strength against Leon --- Usman being so big and strong, Colby's vaunted D1 meant ZERO in a wrestling exchange --- there's even less chance Colby could do it.
      Today, if they fought, Leon would still win against Usman.
      Today, if they fought, Usman would still win against Colby.
      The WWE mathematicians think, therefore, "That means Colby would win against Leon".... is just idiotic. "MMA math doesn't work" and it certainly doesn't work LIKE THAT!
      Four to 5 years ago, I think i'ts a 50-50 situation. Today, Colby has less than 10%, as per UFC historical statistics, which said that in only 2 fights out of 29, that someone aged 35 or older has been able to take the belt from a prime opponent, from Welterweight down to Flyweight. That's ~7%.
      Colby's ploddiness.... his penchants for biting down on his mouthpiece, lowering his head, and swinging blindly forth MAY very be his down fall, against an actual elite striker in his very prime --- who, again, is bigger, taller, stronger and faster than Colby ---- a situation (a combination of MMA skills and physicality assets) Colby has NEVER gone against in his entire UFC career.
      The agile, speedy 6'2" Leon's going to time that and a flying knee or a flying leg or a nice upper cut from his left hand likely will drop the cardio and pressure king and there's zero his cardio or pressure could do about it.
      But, more likely than not --- something not expected by most people: and as the saying goes, it's what you don't anticipate or don't see that could do you in --- Leon likely is going to take Colby down and sub him.
      This is elite MMA, not undergraduate college division I wrestling.

    I think the main event is interesting because on paper you can really see it as a close fight where you can feasibly go with Colby, but it really depends on the route he actually takes and just where he is right now. The key points you talk bout are his pressure and his ability to control with wrestling, and both of those things have oddly fallen off a bit in recent fights. In the Usman rematch in particular he fought way more on the back foot than usual for the first half of the fight and it really showed how limited he is on the feet when he's not just walking you down. And with his wrestling he's mostly about pressure and mat returns than he is about control, and I actually thought he didn't look great against a pretty shot Masivdal. If you look at the stats he has a ton of control time against Masvidal, but IIRC a lot of that was clinching against the cage. Leon is so much better in the clinch than Masvidal, and if Colby decides pressure less on the feet like he's done his last couple fights, he's in Leon's world.
    I think if we get pre-Usman Colby he's got a good shot, and that seems to be who you expect to show up in the breakdown. I'd pick that Colby over Edwards, and although I think Colby still has a solid shot here I gotta go with Leon to nullify him a lot of the time. I do expect it to be close though.

      @@LexBundy Yup, easy fight for Leon when he wasn't grappling to prove a point. Gotta pat myself on the back at least a bit for mostly calling how the fight would play out though haha. The only thing I didn't get was that I thought Colby would turn it up around the halfway mark and make it a closer fight like he did the 2nd time with Usman, but he waited until the 5th this time.

      I’m rooting for Colby, Wonderboy, Luque and Tony. I think Tony can beat Paddy, if he loses to paddy it will hurt to witness that! Not sure about Luque & Ian after Luque lost to Jeff Neal which I didn’t expect at all! But I could see Ian being in his head from all the fan stuff and dropping his guard for Luque to catch him. I don’t know a whole lot about Shavkat, I’ve never watched him fight (no idea how) I know he’s really good
      so he could possible have an easy night with an aging Wonderboy. And I think Colby & Leon should be pretty competitive. Colby has been inactive but the guy trains 24/7. His life is a training camp & he doesn’t cut much weight. We have seen Leon look pretty tired so how he handled Colby’s relentless pressure will be interesting.

      @@Weeks25 Shavkat doesn't move his head really, at all. But, his head also happens to be a cinder block, so Wonderboy can easily snipe him, yet Wonderboy doesn't have much power in his shots, so it could be like Kylie Minogue punching a brick wall, but a well placed kick might cause the necessary damage against Shavkat. The problem with that is, if the kick doesn't cause much damage or is innacurate, it puts Wonderboy at risk for being taken down if Shavkat catches his leg or quickly counters into a takedown/trip. It's going to be a very interesting chess match, i think it's closer than a lot of people are giving Stephen credit for.

      @dude9038 Год назад +2

      Exactly, most of the drops were flash split second knockdowns, not like he rolled around on the floor not knowing where he was. Colby is one of the toughest fighters in the UFC. Unless Colby takes a break in the octagon, i can't see Leon having the chance to snipe him (remember Leon only had the chance to snipe Usman with that headkick in the last round because Usman got cocky and decided to hang back and strike with Leon instead of continuing with the wrestle barrages, fatal mistake). Leon is way too laid back, Colby will not stop pressuring. I think it's going to be a gruelling 5 round decision for Colby.
