I could watch them all day. If you don’t like long meandering videos, you won’t like riding in the trains. I re-live 60+ years of riding trains. I rode them pre-Amtrak. Bravo bravo.
Hi, I also rode them (a lot) pre-Amtrak (Southern Pacific). My father worked for Southern Pacific for more than 45 years the Emeryville to Chicago run. Retired as Head Chef than taught in their cooking school for a couple of years.
The no dinner issue happened to us. In our case it was the lunch that was not offered. I contacted the CEO via email; we got a call back from their customer service and received a nice voucher for our pain and suffering.😊
Thanks your stay at the Double Tree and ride on the Canadian bring back great memories of my rides on the Canadian last year and i stayed at the same hotel. I am looking forward to riding Amtrak in 2025.
The shot at 31:43 is where the train emerges from the west side tunnel and is open-air for the remainder of the trip. That's my neighborhood! Pass by here daily. Thanks for sharing. Robert in NYC.
Do you ever connect VIA between the Amtrak Adirondack and the Amtrak Maple Leaf? Was thinking about taking Silver Star to the Canadian trains mentioned but wondered if there is a good way to train in between that you have experienced before? Is there maybe a video on here already of that?
Thank you for sharing your journey! If you could, would you have done it in the opposite direction (LA>Seattle>Vancouver>Toronto>NYC>Chicago), or is this direction best for transfers, views, meal availability, lounge access, etc.?
I wish Amtrak had an in between class/experience given the fact the difference between coach and a roomette is usually around 10X. With that said do you have any tips for riding coach and buying dining car access on any Amtrak long routes.
I love your videos, thank you. I would rather see more of your experience on the train itself and less music looking out the window. The views are nice but I really want to hear the real sounds more and more of on the train footage and you talking about the experience.
Ugh my son and I were so close to being on our way to Colorado from Oregon on the 21 Nov, Coast starlight cancelled 3 Rd day in a row😢 but we were able to reschedule for mid December, my daughter I. Colorado springs covered a slight extra charge. Weather permitting , Colorado here we ,still ,come.
I always wanted to ride the via rail across canada, but once I saw the video I have to admit the v Via Rail has great h spaces that are common spaces during the day but I really don't like the sleeping accommodations. There is really no security, and if you happen to have somebody in that area that is snoring or sick or just plain annoying, you can't get away from them, there's no way to lock a door and really have privacy or security... So for a woman traveling alone, i'm just not sure if I would comfortable.... It could be a very great ride, or could be a very horrible ride if you had a bunk mate across from you who was super annoying
I stopped following them on Facebook, too. This used to be a good Amtrak advice channel, but not anymore. They seem to be concentrating more on the "financial advice" channel. I'm unsubscibing, too, and will stop recommending this channel to my friends. I'm not interested in their other channels, and would never take financial advice from anyone who used to live paycheck to paycheck.
Thank you for this!! I just made the difficult decision to delay my trip on Via Rail for at least a year. I'm in central Canada. I was either going to do the "to Vancouver and back" trip or the "to Toronto for the Hockey Hall of Fame and on to Montreal and Halifax" and back trip. I'm going to be living vicariously through these videos until I can book my own solo rail adventure (in a single roomette!). ❤🚅 Editing to add - have you ever travelled Prestige Class on Via Rail? My brain is Swiss Cheese and can't remember if you have. Prestige Class costs a fortune but it would be the trip of a lifetime.

I love watching the world go by on the train. I'm thinking " is this what dogs feel like in a car?" ❤😂
Thank you. This is almost like being there❤
I love your videos, however i have learned a lot from your content pertaining to Amtrak Train travel.

I am curious...why did you not transfer t Buffalo for the Maple Leaf to Toronto...yes it is a 5 hour layover but does cut the time down a bit

There are so few people on these trains. Do you know why?
I just sway along to your familiar music!
Wondering: Are you recognized by various crew members? Seems like you would be, by now. . .🤔
How the food on Amtrak Trains
Gourmet. Truly the best.
Come from England and Traveled on the California zephyr on Tuesday 19/11 found the Diner car attendants to be very rude

Hey...I'm thinking that you could have cleaned off your window during the Albany Rensselaer stop. Ever consider bringing cleaning stuff with you?
When you are on the ground outside the train you can't reach high enough to reach the windows.
Your videos are copy paste that we have seen many times before.

That's all the videos have been lately. Very disappointing.

You can always speed up the playback.

O have traveled in Prestige class! It is worth every penny. The attention to service detail is truly first class.
