I think use the verbs:hinder,handicap,encumber =يعيق
Instead:compromise
Is better

The use of "comprise" in this sentence is intentional to clarify the many meanings of this word. "compromise" in this sentence means ( to cause the impairment of, to risk harming something.... etc). We can use the verbs you mentioned. It depends on the context of the sentence.

Use :unproductive,non-productive
Is better than: counterproductive=انتاج عكسي

"Counterproductive" means ( having the opposite of the desired effect. "unproductive means ( not effective in bringing something about : not yielding results, benefits, or profits )). We can't use these adjectives interchangeably because they have different meanings.
