I have a question I bought a property around September 2018. In January of 2019 I recieved a letter(home exemption 2018form) but it said I must have been living as of January 1, 2018 to get the exemption. Now the escrow for the last months starting October 2019 to now has jumped my mortgage almost 500$ more. I did search my property through the cook county website and seen that the exemption has been applied the rest of the years before I purchased it. Am I able to get a refund or should I just wait for the 2019 home exemption and apply this year? Thanks. Great video btw.

Juan Tapia yes you need to file for the first full year you lived in the home. January 2019 you did so you’d be eligible for 2019. I have all the forms at (case sensitive) bit.ly/ExemptionsWithLibert
