Ray Tracing (RT) at the time of this video is mostly a gimmick, thus AMD clearly has the better card & price because RT still needs to mature That being said, Cyberpunk will be the first mainstream game that turns peoples' heads and legitimizes RT. 2070-S will run circles around the 5700XT in this case. AMD will eventually include RT in their future cards. The advantage that AMD has, in this case, is that they let Nvidia spend the money to introduce RT. AMD will ride their coattails and have to spend a lot less on R&D to do the same thing. Welcome back AMD!
RTX is not a game changer but it improves visuals once we stop wanking over super high refresh rates . In BF you can turn some RTX on without sending you frame rate below 60 which is decent enough for any non-competitive game.
@@cehaem2 Agreed, at this point in time RTX is not a game-changer. During the next 5 years though, we will see more and more games adopt this technology, as well as the hardware that supports it. We will look back 5 years from now and realize how much more immersion ray tracing will give us.

Good showing from AMD I don't regret my 2070S as one of my favorite games is getting Rtx and it still won marginally in many titles there, but I like seeing AMD make strides. Hopefully this isn't their strongest card to release. I know there is no profit to be made in the top tier cards but I'd still like to see competitors to the 2080S and 2080 Ti.

Sapphire pulse beats both. Unless you want to get the red devil then that beats anything but the strix. Although the Red Devil Golden Sample would change that (if they release one this generation); it's rival would be a sapphire nitro+ se (again if they release one this generation).
*Yes, in 2K resolution and on ultra almost no difference, but where the tests in 1080p and at medium to low settings? I'm sure the difference will be significant.*
Nvidia fan boy spotted... No one buys a 500$ card to play at low settings.. 1080p yes. Ultra yes.. Not at fucking low settings.. And the difference at high FPS cannot be down to GPU anymore as higher frames require better IPC of CPU.

If possible the videos should get uploaded in 1440p like the benchmark. I know it mainly is about the numbers, but it sometimes looks like that one of the cards is doing weird things while rendering objects in the distance. Would like to see what happens to the details.
Something about this doesn’t seem right to me. How are you only getting 50fps in “Control” unless you are Ray Tracing Ultra? You should be posting what graphics settings are being used.
Bazoo Well the RTX 2070s performed slightly (1.7 fps) better on average. But this is not worth the higher price. Raytracing is the only thing one could try to justify the price with.
You mean 2070S won overall then yes e z win for 5700xt. Bang for buck yes for sure. Those who think real time Ray tracing sucks have no idea about the tech and should shhh. Someone has to innovate.. People said similar when dx8.1 dropped and people were getting 10fps on high end cards in the nature demo of 3dmark2001.. One day every game will be Ray traced. And it's currently possible to to enjoy RTX right now with acceptable fps, but I'd stick to SP. For MP games itl be off.

@@VitoFranchesko I would have gone with a b450 or x470 and 3200mhz RAM and a 750w gold PSU
Damn amd is bringing comp fanboys what y’all gotta say now
Ray tracing makes no sense if you have to play at 30fps so AMD wins for the price
the selling point is you don't have to... quake 2 rtx runs at 50 fps in 1440p without dlss on a 2070...
I just run control a 60fps locked with Ray Tracing on my 2560*1080 monitor, regular 2070. And Ray Tracing in this game is really beautifull.
However, is you can find a triple fan custom 5700xt at around 400€, this is better value than my strix 2070 (also paid 400€).
I like the idea of Ray Tracing, but for now i don't seem to see it as a viable option if like you said "Makes no sense" thus getting into the more affordable option that could make us happy fps wise then go i with AMD :) - Soon cards will become cheaper with the RTX enabled if there's a competition willing to put a dent on Nvidia, then we'll see people with non-extreme budget will be able to enjoy the additional feature :)
@@acidspaz4252 honestly with more optimisation and cheaper cards in the future (also with both next gen consoles having ray tracing) I can see it becoming very mainstream the next few years
aCID sPAZ ya you most definitely haven’t used raytracing ya frames suck, but with improvements in the future it will be better, and raytracing is not just reflections, it looks fantastic in some games
Did you come across any software/driver issues, game crashes or weird bugs with the Radeon card? I've come across a lot of complaints, that's why just asking.
bought rx 5700 xt thicc2 .... returned it for a rtx 2070 super as the Amd drivers are causing Windows chrashes/ freezes and other issues (all driver relatet).
No problem whatsoever with Radeon drivers here.
Rtx 2070 super is €100-150 more expensive so my choice is quite clear
Thanks for the updated drivers video.
RX 5700 XT: 449€
RTX 2070 SUPER: 579€
It's a no brainer in finland.
2070S = 5000tl
RX 5700XT = 4000tl
Turkey is calculated as the price of 4000 dollars
Same in Poland I can get Red Dragon XT for a 20% less than a budget 2070S, and those just burn down most of the time lol
In germany its pretty much the same. From the cheapest versions all the way up to the fancy custom versions its always a +100€ difference. If you also take into account that ray tracing ist nothing but a gimmick at the moment and that Nvidia basicly abandons any optimization efforts for their cards as soon as they release a new generation the winner is pretty obvious.

in my country the rtx 2070s costs like 250$ more so ez for 5700xt :D
Same here, I order 2070 super for 499 but store cancels and then relists same card for 540, so I buy 5700XT Red Devil for 450 and another 1tb SSD with the money I saved from another store. :D

Whats with the VRAM MHZ being so different?
I believe it's a fault of multiplier. Take AMD card and put x10 and probably it will be the true clock.
Nvidia really needs to drop their card by 50 dollars to make it somewhat appealing.
Na they got tons of sales even after rising the price
So....dxr is enabled in 5700xt as well?
I go to buyibg AMD! THANKS AMD FOR THIS PRICE!
i got 1 question, why my 1% low and 0.1% low sometime very low, but the avg fps is high?
i.e. avg fps 144
but 1% can be like 30
and 0.1% be like 25 something like that.
any explanation / suggestion / solution.

The lowest price in Japan, but the 5700XT is about 100 dollars cheaper.

What's with the vram on the 5700xt?
The MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT EVOKE is one of the worst cards on NAVI out there. They managed to install the wrong size thermopads, no fuses on the PSB and so on. Even the reference RX 5700 XT performs much better.
Spreading miss information is fun right? Even I know about thermopads etc but card still performs really well. Actually is one of the best out there.
Given the insanse price difference here in Germany I'll definetly go with a nice custom cooled version of the 5700xt.
No vulkan on world war z?
Enjoy your FPS drop with ray tracing. I don't need it now .

RTX 2070 S is for 500$

Have driver issues been solved???
I got a red devil 5700xt and a rtx 2070 and I must say the picture quality in amd gpu looks a good bit better, about to sell this rtx
I was torn myself between the Red Devil and 270 super . I ended up with the Red devil so far so good.
How much you guys get the 5700 xt for?
Do y'all actually have it? Almost everyone who has the rx5700xt are experiencing stutters and crashes with the latest drivers
Accumula yeah I had my first crash yesterday, but it’s been so far so good since then
Brandon Ho I got my red devil for 450, the prices maybe inflated now since most are out of stock
Guys in my country prices are
5700xt- 585 dollars
2070 super- 641 dollars
Both being gigabyte three fan edition... What should I buy???
I think you should buy the 5700 xt and use the extra money (diference with the rtx ) to improve more the pc
RX5700 XT better value for money
is this a Michael Quesada video? did you rip off another creator content without even giving him credit?
Just wait in 2 years time I have a feeling the XT will catch up to the 2080 lol
Just give it a year
Anyone knows whats the rx5700xt nitro + price performance?
I'm sending my 5700xt back. It's an awesome card, but drivers are super buggy. I'd rather pay an extra 100£ and get a stable gpu. And if you want to buy the 3rd party cards in the UK (with the proper coolers on) the difference between the 2 cards are actually only like 30-40£.
Sounds like you don't know how to install drivers

It's Rtx 2070 super with Ray tracing??
Oh wait no... it's just weak....
And more expensive than AMD comerade...
Good showing from AMD I don't regret my 2070S as one of my favorite games is getting Rtx and it still won marginally in many titles there, but I like seeing AMD make strides. Hopefully this isn't their strongest card to release. I know there is no profit to be made in the top tier cards but I'd still like to see competitors to the 2080S and 2080 Ti.
did you notice he had ray traced shadows set to ultra. im 97% positive the 2070 super took more of hit due to Rtx on and it was still neck to neck with rtx on which everyone knows shaves some points off.
100 € difference for me. Im team amd now. Sry nvidia
MSI 5700XT OR powercolor 5700xt red dragon ??? which?
Any model made by 3rd party venders but don't go with the founders edition (preferably msi)
yo have you seen msi evoke thermal pads problems? go see and thank me later
Stay away from the MSI one, saw many bad reviews
Sapphire pulse beats both. Unless you want to get the red devil then that beats anything but the strix. Although the Red Devil Golden Sample would change that (if they release one this generation); it's rival would be a sapphire nitro+ se (again if they release one this generation).
*Yes, in 2K resolution and on ultra almost no difference, but where the tests in 1080p and at medium to low settings? I'm sure the difference will be significant.*
What's the point of buying a fucking 2070 super to play 1080p low? These benchmarks aim to be realistic
Nvidia fan boy spotted...
No one buys a 500$ card to play at low settings.. 1080p yes. Ultra yes.. Not at fucking low settings..
And the difference at high FPS cannot be down to GPU anymore as higher frames require better IPC of CPU.
BFv - Dx12?? Much better performance, any reason you didn’t use it ?
5700 xt is super unlike 2070
When the 5800 will be release??
5700 xt is much better in price to performance rayio
Did you experience any crashes while using rx 5700xt?
wtf that is rtx 2070 s OC almost 100mhz more compare to original stock, and rx 5700xt only few mhz from original stock. but rx 5700xt can match or even beat rtx 2070s super in some games!!!!
If possible the videos should get uploaded in 1440p like the benchmark.
I know it mainly is about the numbers, but it sometimes looks like that one of the cards is doing weird things while rendering objects in the distance.
Would like to see what happens to the details.
Still went with a 2070S as amd drivers caused lots of blackscreens for me in the past. I'm done with them
Something about this doesn’t seem right to me. How are you only getting 50fps in “Control” unless you are Ray Tracing Ultra? You should be posting what graphics settings are being used.
