Another good video Owen, I know keeping my body quiet and not leaning forward before I make contact with the ball is a problem for me sometimes. Thanks for posting…Jim
I would love to see instructors recommending the turning of the head with the arms in the follow thru -- like annika Sorestam. ( not moving the head, but turning the head) It equals No stress to the upper vertibrate or neck. There is no reason to keep the head looking at the ground, after the ball is hit.
For me after watching 1000s of youtube instructional videos... what there are missing is two things. What is golf swing? Its not like moe normal bryson swing. When u have arm power and shoulder power its ok to swing simple way. I consider is this way. You hold cup full of water and try to throw the water at target. if i have 100 golf students they is first drill or game i let them play. I keep a post 5 feet away and throw the water on it using golf swing without spilling water. Other one is super secret. Strengthen left arm wrist
I think the iron Byron machine is good but to me it''s too one dimensional to compare it to the action of the human body. the machine only simulates the left arm shoulder and club and does not take into consideration the movement of the torso, legs, hips and feet which are an intregal part of the swing action as demonstrated by the student golfer.
Thanks for your reply Steve. Yes, I used the Iron Byron example to show that golfers can generate speed from a standstill position at the top of the backswing with the 'slinging' motion, as separation or float-loading in transition is not easy for regular golfers. The nice thing about the drill I demonstrate is it trains the body to react naturally and follow the arms. Give it a try and let me know how you get on.
@@bakergolftips i use that type action at times when the body pivot type swing goes off the tracks. it is effective and can hit it almost as far but a long period of it stresses my body more because it feels as though i brace the lower body against the swinging arms.
Thanks for your question. Try the drill in the video of throwing the ball under the lead arm and you'll feel your chest and shoulders opening in sync with the arms as you initiate the 'downswing'..
Mike's swing is very, very good!
Thanks Gary. I know he will appreciate your compliment.

Thanks Jim, this is a great drill for that, so try it out!

What a great swing Mike. You won't be a 15 handicapper for long.
Thank you Peter. I'll pass on your encouraging words to Mike.

I agree but isn’t this the same as trying to keep back to target at the beginning of the downswing?
