The NBA keeps focusing on Gimmicks, when all they (players) need to do is COMPETE.

    Fix the NBA Blueprint:
    1. Make it easier/affordable to watch the NBA and stop blocking home games on league pass
    2. Bring back hand checking
    3. Allow defense to stand in paint for as long as they want
    4. No freedom of movement rule
    5. Take away the gather step
    6. Start enforcing travels/carries/moving picks again
    7. Give extremely harsh punishments for load managing
    8. Harsh punishments for flopping
    9. Stop allowing refs to give techs for the silliest things, we’re there to see the players not the refs
    10. Allow players to talk trash all they want aka let them be competitive that’s what we want
    11. Take politics out of sports, if players/coaches want to be vocal let them do it on their own platform but any political jargon in the NBA press conferences or games shall be severely punished. We’re watching sports to take our mind off politics
    12. Don’t allow players to change teams so frequently. We can’t root for a team anymore because the roster changes drastically every year
    13. Take out the in season tournament, it’s so complicated and pointless. Make the regular season regular again.
    14. Add a 1 on 1 tournament in the all star game
    15. Make the all star game regular east vs west again, make the all star game affect the record of all the players teams
    16. Stop advertising so much sports betting every commercial break
    17. Enforce a dress code again. I don’t think families want their kids to see their favorite super star dressed like Zoolander, we want them to set an example for the working man. Suits only and coaches need to wear suits again
    18. Make jersey’s look cool again, fire the current jersey designers
    19. Go back to the classic court designs from the 2000’s and for the love of god never bring those ugly colorful courts from the in season tournament again!
    20. Don’t ever allow players to have so much power that they can force their team to draft their son who obviously isn’t good enough to play in the league. The Bronny situation was insulting to our intelligence as basketball fans
If Adam Silver can execute these rules the NBA has a chance to boost ratings. If not then Adam Silver has to go.

In the 80s and mid 90s, I was in the military. Some of the people I worked with, we would get together at one's apartment or house and watch football/basketball/baseball. Some would watch one or two of the leagues. I liked them all and would be at whatever place to watch games. In 1998 I transferred to Gulfport MS. None of this was happening. I hardly ever seen a few people wanting to watch any game. They liked playing, not watching. Well, I was business anyway not watching much of anything. When I retired in 2001, I found a person liking college. Then I moved to outside Macon GA getting a job with the Navy. I knew a family where I stated in one of the houses that watched Georgia and Atlanta Braves every time on TV. Remember all this was of the three channels broadcast ABC, CBS or NBC. I would be busy again and not having TV for satellite costing to install $1,000 being in the boonies. I more and less did not like NBA, WNBA, Baseball and times football for how it had changed. Now, I cannot even find an NBA game where I live, with hardly a football game like was in the past. I could not believe I could get more WNBA than the other sports. I do not have ESPN and will not nor do I have Turner wishing I did. Like you said in this video to get to NBA I would have to piggybank off a streaming service and pay close to $100 having to pay for live TV. So, pay high cable or high streaming till after a while of rising cost people do not care about the cup paying their players in the hundred thousand to hundreds of thousands of dollars. I care not, as I am not getting any of that to pay extra to watch that. Football this year I had hardly watched any of the games for bad players, refs, and players getting hurt for not watching what would be going on the field. They play like it is demolition derby with their bodies. It is one thing playing hard and hitting hard, another when looking like no one cares about their bodies jumping, hitting where a person can be hurt and such. Now, what I keep reading on some channels it is Adam Silver ruining NBA and should not be commissioner like Kathy Engelbert should not be too.

Of all the things we complain about, (flopping, traveling etc.) it all comes down to - PLAYERS DON'T TRY and they are making more money than ever.
Angry Old Hooper nailed this in one of his videos. He showed the intensity between last year's NBA Finals and how it was no where close to the intensity of 01 or 02 All Star game. Especially the defense.

If the NBA stops all the flopping and stops all the BS “50 three pointers” per game then they have a shot at getting back the fans.

An all time record 35.9 million viewers watched Michael Jordan hit the winning shot in game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals featuring the Bulls versus the Jazz.
That Finals series averaged 26 million viewers per game.
The most recent Finals series between the Celtics and the Mavs averaged 6 million viewers per game.
Adam Silver is flailing away with in-season tournaments and All Star Game makeovers in an effort to pump up the ratings.

Parity is bad for sports as a business; always has been, always will be. Casual fans-the vast majority of sports viewership-love dominant dynastics because everyone loves a winner, love superstars because they love a maestro at work; they tune it to see them dominate, to see who will upset them, etc.
Parity leads to casual fans tuning out. There's a reason why Caitlin Clark, the most dominant scorer in NCAA history, brought so many eyes to the WNBA when many "great" prospects before her didn't; she was so undeniably good that even casual fans wanted to see if she could make some noise in a professional league they traditionally don't care about. There's a reason why dominant fighters tend to draw better in MMA and boxing. It's because people don't really want 50/50 matchups; they want the dominant side and the underdog, and then they can either see a shellacking or an upset.
