I have been using the video regularly since it first appeared on RUclips. I’m a professional singer and voice coach yet I still love using this every time I have a gig or studio session! I’ve been living in Amsterdam for 12 years but before that I lived In Nottingham for years, which is where this was filmed…so this video also connects me with home which is always so heartwarming ❤ Very grateful for this this sweet and very useful video 🙏

I used to sing as a teenager, it came natural. But I stopped doing it and then smoked cigarettes for maybe 10 years. My mom always said, "If you don't don't use it you'll lose it." I didn't believe her but I did lose it. Now I am 36 years old and haven't smoked in 6 years about and I want to sing again but my voice is strained and untrained. I sound like a mosquito. Quite embarrassing. I have looked at many videos to help me and I think this one is a winner. I'll try to do it every day when no one is around, lol. Maybe one day I will sing in church again. :-)

I read your post and it really touched my heart. I love to sing and it is a gift from God. I use to love to sing and sang all the time. Then I got in a really bad relationship in my early 20s and quit singing and started smoking for about 2 years. One day I woke up and said something is very wrong I don't even sing anymore. By the grace of God I got out of the bad relationship and not long after that quit smoking and gave my life to the Lord and have never been the same since. God gave me my voice back and now I sing for Jesus. Dear heavenly father I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that you restore this voice for your glory in Jesus name I pray Amen ;)

He does, every singer does. This is vital when you're going to sing. Skipping it even once can damage your vocal chords permanently. I'm doing it right now because I have to sing and I feel a little dumb, but it's worth it!

Thanks for this! I do your exercises all the time. I don't know if anyone pointed out that you have a tendency to lift your head on the high notes in the first exercise. You might want to watch that and keep your head straight so you're not "reaching" for the high notes which might add vocal strain.

VC these exercises will help you with your pitch, which will help you get a not so bad singing voice. But if u want a good voice , check out videos on how to specifically do the warm ups and how to transition from chest to head, etc. it depends on how good your striving to be.

I love this vocal warm-up. It is the closest thing I can find on the internet to what my choir professor would have me sing. I sang in choirs for a good 7 years and throughout it all, I had no idea how easy it is to lose your singing voice. but after starting nursing school and not having time to be in a choir or to sing at all really, I lost it. I sound so untrained and have to try really hard to hit every note perfectly. This warm up helps relax my throat so I can sing better. so thank you for posting! :) maybe one day I'll join a church choir or something and revisit my passion for singing.
