I find myself in an odd position with SFDebris. I found his reviews looking for validation for my fandom of Voyager. Despite frequently disagreeing with him, I have found his reviews across various platforms sincere, thoughtful, and considered…and really funny, which always helps. I’m here for the long run, Chuck. Best wishes as always.

I attribute you and Linkara as the primary reasons I got into Star Trek. At the time growing up in the mid 90's, it was during my Star Wars obsession that I first got exposed to Star Trek through UPN commercials of three words etched into my mind: Deep Space Nine. I never watched it but they were so memorable. Eventually around the time of Star Trek 2009 and when I started to watch Linkara, his History of Power Rangers video of Power Rangers in Space mentioned you in relation to a montage with Under Pressure, and the rest is history.
It was through your reviews that I was made aware of the wider Trek universe beyond Deep Space Nine, including Voyager and the endless humour of your reviews, Insaneway of Borg, Poor Dumb Harry, and Neelix the Shithead. In some weird bizarre way, I gotta thank Voyager for its mediocrity because of how it has eventually led you to do what you do best and set an example. Right now you're one of my favorite Internet reviewers for your ability to balance the serious, philosophical, goofy, and craziness, and on a genre I've loved and adored for all my life.
Barring reuploads and restorations, your looks at Voyager will be missed, but this is thankfully where Prodigy can come in and in a way sort of address some of the issues you've had with Voyager. I eagerly await the day when you will take a look at that show. Thank you so much again for everything Chuck, and may you and your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I definitely remember the UPN commercials that would always end in "...on the next Deep Space Nine." Alas, my English was not good enough at the time to understand the preview or the show. Years later I went back to watch DS9 upon learning (in large part to Chuck's reviews) that it was the only Trek show with real focus on continuity and I was not disappointed.

I had watched this video when it came out, but never bothered to leave a comment on it until now. Until this video, I hadn't realized how long I had been watching you. I DO remember the early days of when you used to post on RUclips, and the biggest point of reference I had from this video to indicate how early I had been watching, I remember when the non-Star TRek videos went to Blip, the RUclips channel would have basically videos letting people know about a new Blip upload. And then when the RUclips uploads of the Star Trek videos stopped, the RUclips channel became PRIMARILY trailers telling viewers to go to Blip to watch the latest review. Hell, I think it was that period that had me check out the site because it was just easier to look for a review, without juggling between RUclips reviews, RUclips trailers for the Blip videos, and then the actual Blip videos!

Threshold was actually pretty good with Paris’ body horror and the general sense of danger with exploring space that the series should have been about. As soon as The Doctor stated Tom was actually ‘evolving’ instead of just mutating because he had been merged with an alien species due to the warp 10 flight, it went off the rails. The ending with the Tomway salamander babies was just insulting, but now hilarious in hindsight.

And seeing as how they were reviewed out of order, that continuity might be hard to damn near impossible to recreate. But still, I have to be honest and say at least one marathon viewing is left in my future. Although, I must admit that the tighter BS copyright enforcement that has decimated the full motion scenes from the pre-remastered era reviews makes me sad. I hope Chuck has all those saved somewhere even after he uploads the remastered ones. I would love to have a private online watch party stream someday, maybe... 😉

It is quite remarkable to see the conclusion of all the Voyager reviews. I was there quite early in the RUclips days, laughing like the moronic teenager that I was. I'm happy to still be here, laughing like a moronic adult, a good fourteen years later. I watched Voyager as a kid on BBC 2 and found myself perplexed by how little I cared for the show. I loved TNG and much of DS9 when I watched those shows, but as a child, Voyager was beige. It was aggressively dull. I was confused, knowing that logically I should enjoy it. I loved the concept, I loved space, and I loved science fiction, so why did I not like Voyager? I was too young to understand and form a reasoned opinion, then I moved on and grew up.
Watching your Voyager reviews in those early days, years later, were a revelation. I didn't agree with everything, but those videos helped me resolve that childhood confusion, to experience Voyager anew. For what it's worth, Chuck, thank you for that.

I've been trying to figure out when I started watching Chuck's reviews. It was for sure back int he old RUclips days, but I'm not sure how early on. Kinda hard to remember because after watching a few episodes, I was diving back into whatever backlog there was at the time and watching (and probably rewatching) them on a regular basis. I had to have started watching by at the latest 2008 when I was finishing up college, because by the time I got my first job out of school, I was fully ensconced in the habit of watching the new review every week when I sat down at my desk and started work on Saturday.
That habit has remained for many, many years. I have long stopped watching nearly all of the reviewers and producers I watched back then. But Chuck's videos? Still here. Still watching like clockwork. Maybe not the day they come out any more. Life seems to always become far busier and time seemingly less bountiful as the years have ticked on. But I still love watching the videos. They're always the perfect blend of insightful and sarcastic; informative and funny.
It's so funny to see the completion of reviews on the series that started everything. All I can really say is thanks. Thanks for still doing these videos. It's provided many years of entertainment, and I truly look forward to seeing everything that comes next.

Voyager has always been a bit of a nostalgia thing for me. I watched the first few seasons as a kid and thought the show was entertaining. The show was then suddenly taken off the air in Saint Louis as of "Waking Moments" because of a contractual disagreement between UPN (which did not have a Saint Louis affiliate) and KDNL (which was an ABC station that syndicated UPN shows on the side). I was furious at the time and never forgot the moment when I read about the premature cancellation in the local paper, The Saint Louis Post Dispatch. Eventually the show came back to Saint Louis around season 6 or 7 but I never saw it because it ran at around 2 AM on a local religious station. Eventually, I caught up with the show through syndicated reruns after those became available. Somewhere around 2014, I was working on a student film project when someone told me about the TV Tropes website. It was through TV Tropes and the infamous "voodoo shark" entry that I ended up finding the SFDebris website. I ended up becoming a Patreon supporter for a few years until circumstances pulled me away from that. I always found the reviews to be entertaining and educational. I also use them to continually develop and refine my critical thinking processes. In closing, thanks for the many years of entertainment and best of luck with your future endeavors.

Speaking as someone who was in for the ride only in its final part (like from 2019 to today)--I hope one thing you get out of this is a sense of accomplishment. You did finish this task, and you've managed to entertain, amuse, delight, and - why not? - educate people along the way. I've always loved Star Trek, from TOS all the way to Picard (and yes, even the Orville). But so many of the things you said in your videos changed my opinions and made me see things differently. You may be 'opinionated', but you always gave reasons for your opinions, and you always made me think. I appreciate that.
(Doesn't mean you weren't wrong about Dr. Bashir in The Quickening, though. That was a hell of an episode that managed to show DS9's willingness to discuss mature themes in an adult and thoughtful way, not just make Starfleet personal be the heroes that save the day; and you dismissed it with a simple 'well I wasn't really impressed/entertained'. Grrr!)

I remember finding the early Voyager reviews on RUclips just before the move, because at the time the show was being rerun on telly in my neck of the woods. I missed the whole move though, and found the new stuff on Blip a year or so later. I recognized that there was a forum at some point, but at that point, there was already an established population of users, which always makes it harder to enter. In time, it felt impossible and to this day, I've yet to sign on to the forum. I hope to enter it next year and become a regular user, but somehow, I feel that it is too late already.
I can openly say that your videos, Chuck, have been a net positive in my life. From opening my eyes to how to view media from multiple points of views to touching me emotionally, as well as giving one of my favorite spoken fiction in Bushido Bots (not a joke here either), as well as giving this whole Star Trek thing a got for the third time.
Between Star Wars and Star Trek, SW had always been more available as movies and games than ST here. The shows didn't have favorable airing times and were wildly out of order. Stargate had a bad airing time as well, but I could follow it easier at the time. The odd Voyager episode I saw didn't convince me, but the third VOY episode I saw convinced me there was something in the show, The Thaw. The episodes that aired after that made me lose all interest. However, after you started doing more TNG episodes, I decided to revisit the whole franchise from TNG on, and I made it my thing to watch a Star Trek series once per summer. It took a few years, but I had become a fan not by proxy through reviews, but through the shows themselves. I can appreciate VOY and ENT, but they don't occupy my shelf space like TOS, TAS, TNG, and DS9 do. When you reviewed Stargate's movie, I decided to repeat my test and started watching the show with friends. However, that plan has been halted due to those same friends and circumstances about. I probably have to watch it alone at this point.
Despite being a silent viewer from the early years on, thanking probably isn't enough. It's a selfish hope that you'll never stop, as your content is like the meringue of life; it adds a beautiful sweetness on top of the cake of life. Not exactly necessary or healthy on a daily basis, but always enjoyable and hard to stop once you've started eating.
The end of Voyager reviews probably means I'll have to revisit Voyager again and watch it from start to end the second time. I gave up on the first two attempts after watching Caretaker. However this time, I think I'll use your reviews as companion pieces to reflect on my own views on each of the episodes. Might take a bit longer to get to the final end credits, but I'm sure it would be worth it.
So, thank you for all the Voyager, the rest of what's already done, and here's to all the others to come.

Thanks for everything, Chuck. (I say that even tough I'll be sticking around.)

I'm one of those who found you via Linkara, specifically, and I know this is weird, but I remember the moment was the end of his first set of History of Power Rangers(Huh, wonder when the next one is...), where he did a musical montage of the 'Zordon Era', and he mentioned you doing a similar thing with the same song he used, but for Trek.
That, well, I was a fan of Trek at the time, and still am today, despite the downs that the show has been on writing-wise. I saw it all as good back in the day, and hell, I still like some episodes I know you don't(Masks), and don't like episodes I know you do(Bada Bing, Bada Bang).
And that's the mark of a great critic. You never make me feel like I'm wrong for having an opinion...save maybe if you like some of the 0s, but those do tend to be crappy, so it would take a head tilt to see them as anything approaching watchable, let alone good in my opinion, so I'll be with you there.
So, from a long time viewer with an opinion himself, I hope you continue to do this twenty years from now, being an entertainer for me, and all the people who enjoy watching your videos. You got me into Madoka Magicka, so I don't think I can ever hate you, and in fact, you are always a joy to watch or re-watch...time to rewatch the current run of Incredible, and wait for the next one patiently. That one's fantastic, and I love you for it.

I don't remember how I came upon your show but I'm pretty sure it was during the Blip years before Maker Studios used it to make themselves pretty to Disney and raided the assets. I found, and still find, the reviews to be humorous but also a good examination of the work on its own and the message it gives. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next...and to eventually get caught up to where you are now with the rest of my YT backlog.

Me and my brother have been watching your channel since about 2008 back when it was recommended from Confused Matthew's Trek reviews, and also interestingly enough Red Letter Media's review of Generations was also in the recommended, and I've stuck with you and RLM for different reasons but ultimately because I just liked the critical analysis. I even remember the old theme song days, "Kryptonite" for Enterprise and so on. I remember liking Roxette when I was young too, "She's Got the Look," great song.
I felt the exact same way about Voyager since the beginning as you described, I was really excited for a new unique spinoff from TNG that would be forced to go new places. Then in season 2, the entire ship was hijacked by a race that, from what I could tell, didn't even have warp drive, and I dumped the show entirely and only 10 years later did I think to go back and watch only a handful of episodes that people mentioned as being good (still love Living Witness and Author Author and Life Line, but of course those are all about the same character).

Congratulations on completing the Voyager series. Here's to completing some more, and someday having them all uploaded on one site, without being flagged, struck, or dehosted.
Out of curiosity, with VOY done, where do we stand on TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, and ENT?
(Edit: TOS 29 to go, TAS done, TNG 45 to go, DS9 60 to go, ENT 39 to go - plenty of Trek to last us a while longer.)

I can't remember exactly when it was when I started watching. It was into the Channel Awesome era and I was already watching a lot of folk there and I think I'd heard Linkara (who was ultimately my entry into the Funny Video Reviewers thing, yet oddly I can never recall what it was of his that I first watched...) mentioned you by name. But I only came to watch the show when my mate (who has severe Asperger's and generally doesn't like live-action TV much) recommended it because he found it very funny. (I part, I think, because parodyJaneway was a level of over exaggeration he could actually, essentially "get" as he can't generally do with most acting.)
I was house-sitting with him at the time (his parents were off ona much-needed holiday and my main job was to got fetch him McDonalds for meals because he'd eat that and woldn't leave the house otherwise). And while he was sleeping or working (his schedule is all over the place, since he doesn't run to a 24-hour rhythm), I decided to check it out.
I decided I would start in style and begin with Threshold, notoriously the worst episode of Voyager and which I could see was a two-part review.
And that, as they say was that.
I don't quite watch EVERYTHING on the channel(s) (but heck, I don't even quite do that with Linkara, my unbashed favourite...); but I do watch the majority (and what I haven't seen just means it's there that I one day might).
So, to the next 15 years, and may they be as entertaining for us, as fun (and as profitable or more) for you; and hopefully not contain quite so many domestic architectural surprises and such as the last...!
