Because, 1) all the other teams in the league need KU football 2) it helps ameliorate the harsh feelings of basketball season 3) it's cheaper to continue as is than to demolish the stadium 4) KU needs the tuition that marching band students bring in 5) A shaman of the Kansa Tribe, upon being forcedly removed to Oklahoma territory in 1873, issued a curse in front of his teepee (on the site of where the stadium now stands): "May those who toil on this tract be kicked about in humiliation and shame through the all the generations to come."

I'm surprised Kansas has football fans. The stadium is probably just filled with all the family/friends of the players and staff, Alumni, and people that got free season tickets and had nothing better to do with their Saturday. 😂
Multiple ISU grad here…but very disappointed in the let down after such high expectations this season. Could have been something special (these opportunities don’t happen often for us). Will always be ISU dna to the core…but
Listen. We did everything we were supposed to do and that’s all you can expect. I’ve seen some ISU teams in the past dink around against KU teams. This was a good night.
It only makes me more disappointed about the Iowa and Baylor games. The advantage of having a veteran team coming into the season (no learning curve, hit the ground running) was completely squandered by the coaching staff. We'll be lucky to match last season's output (because we literally need to win everything from now on to do so.)
Ok Chuck, whatever you say.. who wouldve thought Ku football would ever go to a bowl game again, in the 2000s they went to I think, 3 bowl games.. so Iowa St. could possibly go to a bowl game sometime, Oh my goodness! I was agreeing with Chris. Nevermind.
Yes, it was Kansas BUUUUUT Iowa State was doing everything correct and these games help close up the gaps on all sides of the ball. especially special teams.
Matt Campbell has been a media darling for sure, but he's overrated. One sure trend with his teams has been...big win, lots of attention, the players (probably coaches too) read and believe the media, then they fall on their faces and play like a D2 team the next time out. Happens. Every. Time. Watch
Lol look another uneducated kiddo. Matt campell turned Iowa state football from a joke to an actual good football school. 4 winning seasons and 4 bowls and 2 wins so stfu
Have you seen what Matt did for our program? Us and Kansas were the 2 big 12 cupcakes but now Iowa state is one of the conference elites he got offers from the NFL and I’m pretty sure they know more than a 2 year old.
Yep. Been watching AND attending ISU games since 1982. It's the conference that's degraded more than anything. I didn't say ISU hasn't improved, I said they and especially Matt Campbell are overrated.
i kinda feel bad for kansas. they deserve to know what its like to win. at least they have a good basketball team.
One day Kansas will be good, I might not be alive for it but we'll be good
The day has arrived
Rematch should be much closer, Jayhawks are flying high at 4-0, and if KU wins they’ll end the longest top 25 drought among power 5 teams.
Why does Kansas even still have a football program any more.
Cause it still brings more money than their basketball program
Because,
1) all the other teams in the league need KU football
2) it helps ameliorate the harsh feelings of basketball season
3) it's cheaper to continue as is than to demolish the stadium
4) KU needs the tuition that marching band students bring in
5) A shaman of the Kansa Tribe, upon being forcedly removed to Oklahoma territory in 1873, issued a curse in front of his teepee (on the site of where the stadium now stands): "May those who toil on this tract be kicked about in humiliation and shame through the all the generations to come."

To generate money for the basketball program
Well they are 5-0 now…
