I have the Fodsports M1S Pro. They work flawless for us. if we are riding under 80km we have little trouble hearing, I imagine that the quality of helmet would reflect being able to hear differently. We run less expensive helmets so we wear ear plugs when riding and I don't have issue hearing music at any speed. I like the boom mic better than the little button one. The sound quality is better and luckily my full face helmet has a channel where it goes and recesses in the chin bar.
Good to hear on the earlier versions. The speakers in this FX8 are supposed to be upgraded from previous versions. I will be using the boom mic. Yes the quality of the helmet would play a factor and that's what ill be testing. I would assume that if your buying a budget intercom you probably are not shelling out $$$ on a Shoei Lid. I don't have that kind of dough... what's the old saying? A cheap helmet for a cheap brain..... something like that ;)
