I decided to sing an energetic song for all of you this week hoping to help you reinvigorate your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. This song does that for me. The nostalgia that it brings... ahh~ I can't express it enough but I wish you'll feel what I feel when you hear me sing this. 💖🐼
Voltes V, this epic show is sooo popular here in the Philippines. Even to date! It's opening theme, Voltes V no uta is one of, if not, THE song that even non-anime lovers/viewers know the tune and even some of the words! 🐼 I have sooo many fond memories of this song.
One of those memories was when I performed this song with Don Podring Orchestra, a famous orchestra in our province of Pangasinan. 💖 Every year, since I was little, we would go to the province for the annual fiesta. And oh man, it was grand. The thing that I'd anticipate was the grand ballroom night, for there will be two orchestras having some kind of "showdown" until dawn or until the Sunday morning mass begins. So one lovely evening, their singers were on a break, I think. Out of the blue, my grannies suggested to the conductor that I sing with them. Like whuuut?! 😱 Panic attacks! I've been dreaming of singing/performing with them my whole life (at that time)! And when my shy self couldn't really think of a song instantly, one band member suggested the Voltes V opening song! They were probably just kidding at that time, so they were surprised when I agreed. Hahaha! Oh yeaaah! It was my first time performing with an orchestra and with this song! 💖 Can you just imagine my heart?! Omigosh! 💖💖💖 After that, I performed this song with them again the next year, and then the next...etc. 😍 Wooh! That was a loong story, right? But I hope you felt how excited I was! Aside from the orchestra story, I'm proud to say that I even had the chance to sing this on national TV. 💖 Can you imagine?! Hahaha! But that's not the best part, I had this once in a lifetime opportunity to sing this on one stage with none other than Mitsuko Horie-san, herself! 💖

Her attention to detail in both pronunciation, voice modulation, emotional projection in song, vocal tone, and bravado in her voice are off the chart and to the extreme degree. Honestly speaking I feel that she is more appropriate to perform the cover for the current Voltes V tv show. I close my eyes and listen to her, and I remember every emotions projected from the original singer. Very heart felt.

L-GAIMでヒットして初めてVocapandaさんの歌を聴いたんですが、次のお勧めにいきなりこの曲が。
「あれ、ひょっとしてフィリピンの歌い手さんかな？確かボルテスはフィリピンで人気あったはず…」と思ったらやはりフィリピンの方でびっくりしました。彼女の日本語はうますぎる。
いや、しかしMIO(MIQ)に堀江美都子に飯島真理にLiSAと、方向性が全く異なる声質の歌い手さんの曲をカヴァーして全く違和感のない歌唱力は凄まじいの一言に尽きます。

I have been browsing the closest high low notes comparing to Horie, non are close or able to fully replicate Horie but Vocalpanda is the closest I can find. Julie Anne is a talented singer but she did not capture the spirit of Voltes V imo, her emotions are lacking imo. This truly shows how special is Horie. Vocalpanda is also a gift for Legacy fans, thumbs up!

I hope GMA conducted an audition too for the OST. No offense meant for Julie, because I really admire her as an artist, but her rendition sounded very pop for me.
I think they chose her not just because she's an excellent singer, but also she's really popular right now. No doubt she sounded good in her rendition but it lacked a kind of toughness in it. Kulang sa angas.

私はアニメファンでは無いので、このアニメをよく知りません(ちゃんと見たことがありません)ただ歌は知っていました、男の子向けのアニメなのに女性が歌っている事でも有名ですね(まあ、堀江美都子さんを知らないアニメファンはいないでしょうけど)彼女と比べられると、評価は厳しくなると思いますが、素晴らしい！堀江美都子さんに勝るとも劣らない歌唱力、何と言っても日本語がとても自然なところがいいですね、日本で暮らした事があるのでしょうかね？

数名の方の歌を聴き比べてみましたが、一番原曲の堀江美都子さんに似た感じの声質でとても上手だと思いました。

リアル視聴世代ですが、ボルテスＶのストーリーよりもこの主題歌がずっと記憶に刻まれていました。曲、歌詞ともに当時のロボットアニメ主題歌にはない魅力を感じたのだと思います。とくに「見つめ合う瞳と瞳…」の転調する辺りが好きです。日本とほぼ同時にフィリピンでも放送されてその後も根強い人気があるということを最近になって知ってびっくりしています。
