9:47 - I can see why this "Hold onto your tummy" jingle never took off. In my experience, a person holding onto their tummy is a sign of great pain and distress in the stomach, not a sign of "something good" as this jingle wants to imply.

During that whole _Spectrum Carpets_ commercial, as I listened to that synth drumbeat, I kept thinking: *_YAFFA BLOCKS!_*

I remember this station in the 80's along with WTAF and WPHL because they used to show good shows back in the day.

It's SURREAL to be flipping through these commercial compilations only to be slapped in the face with a bumper for the original US release of Dragon Ball, long before the series got popular here.

December 1989 is still 80s. WGBS started in October 1985 in Philly, roughly two years after WKBS Channel 48 folded in Philly. WGBS Channel 57 didn't really air game shows much, but was airing Wink Martindale's Last Word briefly in Fall 1989

Alright, I'll admit, I somehow never expected an 80's upload to feature the words "Dragon" and "Ball" in it together AND in that order but hey, clearly this is something I didn't know until now. xD Amazing.
EDIT: After doing a bit of digging, it turns out that this dub was 2 of the movies spliced together as a pilot for a series dub that never happened. And was of "Dragon Ball" (1986) as opposed to the more popular "Dragonball Z", which started getting dubbed in '96. Kinda makes sense baring that in mind, DBZ premiered in Japan in 1989 so it would of been too new for an English dub to have been produced like this THAT soon. :)

Ok. I know next to nothing about the show or anime in general so forgive me for inaccuracies.

It's fine! I mentioned that stuff in the interest of anyone else curious, not to waggle fingers at you for mentioning the show that came *after* "Dragon Ball" rather than that. I mean, close enough anyway, right? Might as *well* be the same show except earlier anyway.

10:20 - that's kind of an odd little girl...

-Hmm I remember G.L.O.W. , but somehow totally missed roller games..no recollection at all. Was it a regional thing maybe?

As far as I know, Rollergames was nationally syndicated. In New York, I watched it on WPIX. 80sCommercialVault also has a recent volume from the NBC affiliate in Bangor, Maine, they showed it after Saturday Night Live.

Fosters-Paul Hogan did quite a few of these ads(most of them aired in Australia only)
Honey Nut Cheerios-liked the belly-dancing chick at the beginning
    McCain French Fries-In a bag that opens..and closes. um,okay..

Built-in Ziplocs were virtually unheard of at that time.

One of my hometown stations, though I did not really watch this one at the time. Philly 57 did not have any cartoons that interested me until they got transformers generation 2 and the disney afternoon in the nineties.
I wish someone still made trucks like those Fords, too. Nice simple with a big bed that you can actually hold something in.

"A magical family picture. Dragonball." HAHAHA! It turns out that this "dub" didn't do so well, only airing on a handful of independent stations like this one, and that's it. It probably wasn't no Robotech hack job either.
Leave it to you to find these creepy puppets. WTF Mercury?
That music in the Chap Stick ad I heard elsewhere, such as in that laser tag game that was on a Nostalgia Critic bad commercials episode. ruclips.net/video/sPYU3J2TjBg/видео.html

It's funny how you haven't seen hide or hair or ANY of those late 80s Mercs! Not classic cars at all. Even with an adorable puppet spokes-cat.

God it's strange seeing 'Dragon Ball' advertised as a movie special.
