The free flat rate mailers from usps are a life saver for shipping heavier items. It’s about $7-8 for anything that fits. Good for any items heavier than 1 lb
10:38 I have done over a 100 sales and i don't recomend using so many words at the top of the post cuz at the end of the day, people won't get interested on the post if they see so many description. The best thing to do is: on the first one or two lines (three maximum), describe essential things about the item and use 1 or two emojis to make it visual and atractive, and then at the bottom of the post you start the FULL description of the item, the ocasion, things to combine the item with... Just a thought. What if the brand of the item you have does not show up as an option? There's been many times where a well know brand is not listed. Seems like "tagged for exposure" is to help list a similar item.
@@lyonmackenzie10 when selling an item, as long as you list its brand name in the description it will show up when people search for that brand. Make sure to be as descriptive as possible and use key words, for instance, don’t just say the item is green; say “green (lime, pistachio, neon, fluorescent) etc, depending on what you think others would see that colour as, so that when people are searching for that very specific colour name (as shades are subjective and many people call different colours different names so it caters to many searches) they will see your item. Another tip would be to say what brands it reminds you of, such as “Per Una pvc black shiny skirt... reminds me of I Am Gia...”. I hope this helps hunny xxx

how do you estimate the Domestic shipping cost (arrange shipping) before you know the location of the buyer? in some packages dont the location and the weight fluctuate the price? To set the price of shipping you basically set it as the price for the label correct.

Theflaurinets S yeah don’t worry about them not answering! Just try and send the item if they paid you. And yes! My first time I think I did, you have to call PayPal and just verify your account, they’re rlly helpful on the phone !

If you’re in the US, you can take it to the post office or a usps drop off box (they sometimes have them outside of gas stations, hospital parking lots, etc.). If you have a standard mailbox you can stick the package in there with the flag up and the mail person will pick it up when they deliver your mail. If you have the mailboxes where you and your neighbors have a key, the mail slot for outgoing mail is usually too small (only large enough for an envelope). But, if you catch the mail person while they’re collecting/dropping off mail you can kindly ask them to take your package (with a prepaid label!!). I’m also pretty sure you can go on the USPS website and schedule an at home pickup where someone comes and takes the packages you need to ship out. Good luck with your shop!! :))

depop takes 10% of whatever you make and i heard paypal does too. so i’m guessing that plus the shipping. also if you sell something for $10 + $3 shipping you will get $13 but depop will take back its $3 since you didn’t pay for it. hopes this helps :)

Pro tip for packaging I don’t know if it’s allowed in the US but ik in the UK you can just use a shopping bag for packaging and you can stick the postage tag on top with cello tape.
Sophia Pearl I think you should be good! I’ve been selling since I was 17 and my sister is younger and she sells as well. Just don’t engage with anybody who asks you to message them anywhere besides the Depop app (if they ask for your email, phone, ect). And block people if they seem sketchy! I have had creepy men hit on me before on the app and I always just block them immediately. If you feel uncomfortable sending something to somebody who buys something from you, because I believe they will see your address if you ship with depop, you can always refund them and just not ship. luisa peralta did you call PayPal to verify your account? You may need to call them. I would also email Depop and tell them what’s going on. They’re usually rlly responsive! Also, make sure u communicate with your customer and just let them know what’s going on!!
This happened to me and I realized that I didn’t have my shipping to the shipping through depop method. Lol im not sure if its just me maybe you made that mistake too. Anyways if you do your own shipping depop doesn’t send you a shipping label and I didn’t realize that hope this helps

As a reseller on Mercari, Poshmark, and eBay, I should warn you to try not to describe fit. Like at 8:16 you say "fits a small and XS" that could be grounds for a case on fit. Not entirely sure how Karens are on Depop, but describing fit using subjective terms like that can break your case pretty quickly. Just be careful!
Use pirateship...anything over 1lb use a padded flat rate envelope for clothes...that will only be $7.75 First class shirts will go for $3 - $5 depending on where the buyer is located.

For things that don’t fit I lay them out on the floor in different positions that make them look flattering and show what they look like clearly! also if you can find a picture from the website they were originally bought from you can include that!

Depop works through PayPal so they just take off their fee and how much u earn is instantly put on your PayPal account. Then u have the option of transferring ur amount (fee no longer included because it was already taken off) to ur bank account

Wow, they've dropped the shipping prices significinatly (in re: to 12:30). now its $3 less for and XL item and 6.50 to ship a medium item :)

Dea Haven yes so they will when you ship to them on the shipping label. I’ve actually been wondering about this lately too, I think if you get a PO Box that is the best bet, or you may be able to just not fill out the send back address

Hey, sorry if this sounds a bit dumb but if I choose depop shipping then pick one of the options, will I have to pay to ship or will it add onto the price of the item for the person buying, to buy?
Megan Bird not stupid! You have to make sure to press, “buyer pays for shipping” not “seller pays” and you’ll be set!

hey im confused with shipping like it says to not ship the item until the payment is complete but to complete the payment id have ship the item out so im little confused and also im not sure where to find the tracking # on the receipt. if anyone could help thatd be great

Linda G. It will alert you! You’ll get an email from Depop and an email from PayPal as WELL as a notification from Depop!

i wanna sell on depop but ppl say that the depop fee takes money from your bank account and not the item u sold (i live in the uk btw ) is it true ? and if they take it from your bank account do they take it after you’ve received your payment from the item you’ve sold ? cause im broke lmao
Depop works through PayPal so they just take off their fee and how much u earn is instantly put on your PayPal account. Then u have the option of transferring ur amount (fee no longer included because it was already taken off) to ur bank account
