for what it’s worth it’s also like a sort of sister song to the closer on Billy Woods’ Hiding Places. The last verse on that song (Red Dust) is super similar to his verse on stone fruit, but maybe from a reverse (inverse?) perspective

This is a certified hood classic.
The lyrics are too much like existential dark beatnik like poetry and the beats are too left field and near experimental for it to be a "hood" classic

I thought stonefruit was incredible and Billy’s closing verse is easily one of my favorite verses from him of all time. Intense attention grabbing finish to the album and I thought the singing was dope.

I thought Scaffolds was one of the better songs on the record. Quite a few tracks just ran a little stale and thin by the time they reached the finish line. I particularly wanted to like Chicharonnes more but the cumbersome beat and Chris's dominance of the cut made it drag a bit
Edit: I've changed my mind, Chicharonnes is fire. Quelle murders it

Granted, all of the lyricists he's been collaborating with were amazing on their own but ALC does not miss. In the last decade, I cannot think of a fully produced by The Alchemist record that wasn't heat.

Easy 10/10. but we'll let history redeem them.
Stonefruit is out of this world. With the pace, lyrics, and beats are all perfect. Armands “opening doors with out my name out it” is perfect.

Honestly, I have to disagree melon. This is easily a 9, on par if not better than Paraffin. The energy captured on this is just too magnetic and comparing and contrasting it with Brass, I think you can see an overall thematic and tonal shift that woods and ELUCID have taken after working with Moor Mother. And the Alchemist completely enters their world while still maintaining his own unique sound, allowing them to explore this creative space with ease and precision. In my opinion. Appreciate your work and loved this album. Best of the year so far.

How is Peppertree the track you say is especially surreal or free-associated? Seems to pretty clearly be Woods imagining his own funeral, gets a bit surreal later in the second verse but matches the mood and suggests "things unseen" which he eludes to in other tracks and suggests something possibly supernatural

Perfect album for the feeling of dread and nearing death lol.
This review of the new Quadeca project sure has a lot of errors. For starters, the album is called "From Me To You," not "Haram". Secondly, it is only made by one artist, no alchemy was involved, and the way you spell it is "Quadeca," not "Armand Hammer". But aside from that great review Anthony!
