- Hey guys, hope you are keeping well! Join us on my Christmas/Birthday gift from Harry to our trip to Gdansk in Poland. 🇵🇱 (a must visit in Europe!)
We were so lucky with the weather! There was a bit of a heat wave with temps just over 20 degrees - we wasn't expecting that for Poland in early April. 🌞
The food in this city was out of this world! We didn't have one bad meal, each restaurant/bar we went to was beautifully done out and the food 👌 👌 👌 (links below)

STODKO STONO GDANSK (I can't find any website for this place?! But it is opposite Manna68 - lots of pink decor outside :)
BROWAR RESTAURANT (I can't find this either, but it is next to Neptunes Fountain/the old Town Hall on the Long Market Street. They have their own brewery so worth a visit if you're partial to a beer.
Zosia from Walkative was our walking tour guide - she was super lovely and her knowledge of Gdansk was so so good.

We stayed 3 nights which was plenty of time. Sopot is a must visit whilst you're in the region - only 20 mins from Old Town Gdansk via train (which is very affordable). If you have time a trip to Hel would no doubt be lovely. We didn't fit Hel in on this trip). Gdynia is very close too.

One last thing - we climbed St. Mary's Church but if we could have, we would have probably climbed the Old Town Hall instead, but sadly it doesn't open until the main season starts from May onwards. The view up the church was great but a little restricted due to the way the walls are up there. The Old Town Hall on the other hand looks like it is more open at the top/less restricted.
My fav city I've been to in Europe!

24:09 This is a monument to Wojtek the bear. He died in the Scottish Zoo in Edinburgh. It was an animal that served in the Polish Army on the Western Front. You can see his stories on YT in English. His fate was identical to that of Polish soldiers.

learned loads about Gdańsk. I’m Polish but been to Gdańsk only once in my life, lived in UK for 19 years now, and probably could tell you more facts about Southend than Sopot (LOL!).

My husband and I are going to Gdansk next month, my first time in Poland and Europe actually and my husbands first time going back since he immigrated here in Canada 30 years ago! This will be a very special trip for us, and we will celebrate our 29 yr wedding anniversary while were there.
