Well boy, what an impressive achievement. You sound like a real sailor now!!! Your confidence has grown in an astounding fashion!! I would gladly sail with you any day 👍I have watched your videos from day one and your sailing ability and understanding of sailing has increased a thousand times. You should be very proud of yourself and what you have achieved 👍 Well done brother and keep going. Thanks Terry for sharing this great adventure 👍You will sail the world and I will be happy to follow you Thank you so much for your persistence and perseverance, Loving your channel 👍👍❤️❤️🇮🇪🇮🇪😮
I have been through Crinan many times. Fully crewed and short handed, but never solo. If there is only two on board, wait for an over crewed boat to join you if you can. This makes for an easier passage. It is a great day of fun passing through the canal and very picturesque.
Terry, so sad to hear about your friend DCW. I’m am sure if he was alive he would be proud of the sailor you have become as a result of his generosity in sharing his skills with you.
I came through solo on Tuesday with a similar setup, works well. I cheated and hired Crinan pilot Peter Trott to take lines ashore and operate the locks. Was through in 6 hrs, highly recommend him.
Noooo! Dave is gone! I have watched that video so many times. I love his style and hoped to meet him one day. Rest in peace Dave. Another good man down.
Hi Bumble. Having just moved up to a Nonsuch 26, I decided to look back at your lesson with DCW. Watching the vid, I was thinking every sailor, indeed marina, could do with a DCW. Awesome teacher and all round good egg. Two days later I watch this video and hear that he has passed away. What a very sad loss to the world. Carry on what you're doing, making great bumbling videos, knowing that he will be watching over your shoulder (and laughing). 🍻DCW. Mark. Milford Haven
Hey dude, Okay so admittedly I watched or commented on your channel in a long time, But what can I say,; You're looking SO much better! Looks like chasing your dream has brought you joy and happiness and it really shows in the way you look and how you hold yourself. Also your speaking is much more clear and fluid, You''ve obviously learned a lot of the sailing lingo and gained a bunch of confidence! Production and editing are wicked too, Love the multiple camera angles in this one. It's like I'm looking at a completely different person, I am looking at a different person, You're a new man and it really comes through. Thanks for showing us that it's possible. You're an inspiration.
Hey absolutely love the long form video don’t sell yourself short your content is great!!! Because of you I’m in the process of buying my first boat!!! How much was the license for both canals I think I’m going to make that my first trip!
When you fast forward and the camera on you i was waiting on the " Benny Hill " tune , my generation i suppose !! The title doesn't do you justice and should read , Not a bumbling sailor anymore, I was chuffed watching this and hoping once my little boat is renovated ill be more relaxed and ready to tackle the Crinan in future. Glad you're enjoying the help and company along the way. Cheers bud.
Thanks for this, great memories. Beautiful area. I know this canal and area very well as I grew up in Ardrishaig and Lochgilphead though I moved to Glasgow in my early 20's. We did take a boat from the Crinan end to Ardrishaig in the one day but that was a lot of work, though as you see, there are a good number of manned locks. How did you cope with the dreaded west coast midges? I used to do a lot of fishing and that was an ordeal at times...much worse when there's light rain/drizzle.
I’m obviously not following close enough. Thought you were at Caley canal ….. actually saw you arrive at Ardrishaig. Are the videos out of order a bit….
Can you explain what is clickbait about it? I pose a question, and answer it. That isn't deceptive, sensationalised, or otherwise misleading is it? Or should I not be able to make a thumbnail that explains what people are about to watch? The purpose of a thumbnail is to grab the attention of someone scrolling through videos. That isn't what clickbait is.
A "click-bait" title is one which misleads by advertising something that isn't in the video. Not the case here. The title asks if it can be done, the video shows how it can.
The filming with the extra cockpit screen, plus all the dialogue information is very professional now Terrie
Thank you
Views are climbing, you deserve so many more best of luck lad!
Sailing that boat in a canal is like exercising a greyhound in the back yard. 😆

Hi terry you are smashing it
Right up my street this one, I watch a lot of narrowboat vids, love our inland waterways. Your vid was cool and some! Many thanks x
Somewhere on route there was a barbers, Happy Haircut mate.
Good rope system in the locks. You can take things a little easy for a wile Looking forward to the next leg

must be weired to be closed in a lock in a sailboat.. its a bit easier in a narrowboat. Keep up the great work!
Making great progress!!
So sorry about David, remember that video well.

I think it was about 400 for 2 weeks, but it depends on the length of boat 👍👍
I also always feel so rushed. Docking at about 0.01 kph and still feeling like I need to sprint to the front for the lines :D

Me too! Thought I even heard a hint of some bumbling sailor music there at the start of 3x speed

I don't see the link for more boat handling techniques from your friend.
Sorry, forgot to put it on.

Have you been down the East of Scotland yet?
Yeah.
Is future content going to be pay to view? Members only?
No, never.
yes, as you say, but why the click bate title?
