Ouch. Have been, and currently, there. E3 rehab has a great video for that. Tore my calf 8 weeks ago. Barely on phase 2. Whatever you do, DON’T aggressively stretch!
Good video : but illopsoas tightness can cause an anterior pelvic tilt that also keeps hamstrings tight ! Both need to be evaluated and RPR can decrease illopsoas tightness and activate them from sitting too much! A common cause of this imbalance! Just my guess from being a Physical Therapist Assistant for 30+ years !
In this case iliopsoas is very unlikely as a cause as neural glide actually improved range of movement. Infact id say psoas tightness is more likely to cause posterior tilt, due to tendon pushing pelvis backwards as it crosses the pubic bone. Iliopsoas can cause both anterior or posterior tilt, depending on which section is tighter; iliac section or psoas section.
I am not well versed on musculoskeletal system, but I am currently at higher marks than the last 2 RMT students in my sister’s class, based solely on the written quizzes/exams. I couldn’t straighten without pulling sutures, and I was in so much back pain. A Physiotherapist helped me out and figured what I needed within a few minutes of just looking at me and listening to me. It was mainly looking to just figure out how to stretch without moving my arms, or laying on my front. 1x assisted bed stretch later, and an explanation as to what the illiopsoas is, and I was a CHANGED man. This. I thought I was losing my mind lmao. Dorsiflexion elongates the hamstrings so of course the result would be reaching maximal stretch of the muscle earlier.
