Hey Gary Neville, please bring on Gary Neville on next weeks episode of the Gary Neville Podcast, he was an absolute pleasure on last weeks episode of the Gary Neville Podcast.
Totally agree with Gary, the players like Scholes, Bernado Silva, David Silva, Iniesta, Xavi. Players that control the pace of the game and dictate play. As a City fan, Scholes is my favourite United player ever.
What a coup to be able to snag Gary Neville as a guest on the Gary Neville podcast. Just shows how much star power Gary Neville has. This guy should try out management some day.
Tottenham right now is everything United want to be. Best stadium, training ground, fan experience in the prem and now the football is going in the right direction with an identity. Still way off Man City but Gary is right when you start from the foundations and go from there.
@@bmcb3064 That's not what he said, he said Spurs had the best fan experience in the league at the moment. Tranmere rovers have a better fan experience than UTD at the moment. Its not that hard.
I think Gary really overstated the importance of the stadium and facilities. Look at Feyenoord's philosophy, which, of course, you have to be relative to their league. But they thrive and purposely try to replicate that working-class/grounded approach. It represents the city of Rotterdam and actually promotes a successful culture. Manchester shares similar values as Rotterdam, and historically, United has wanted to bring through top British talents and showcase a similar philosophy. I'm not saying the stadium and facilities shouldn't be upgraded, but don't be fooled into thinking it's necessary for setting a standard of excellence. A standard of excellence comes from the club's cultural values, and sometimes, your environment (stadium & facilities) need to be assessed to see how to best communicate those values.
@j.s3300 yes, but this was an attempt to attract players because they lacked the prestige (they have it now, of course). Not to mention owners who were willing to splash endless amounts of cash as possible to manufacture this status. United has always had prestige and appeal. I'm not saying upgrading the facilities shoukdng happen, just don't use it as a mask to cover the more underlying issues of their failures
Gary Neville is the only person in the world that I actually like and want to listen to on speaking about manchester united. Everything he says is absolutely bang on. I hope he continues to speak out about the Glazers and I know he will.
I don't understand how you can blame the owners if the players are still getting their full pay cheques every week. Imagine how they would play if they gave them £100 a week instead.
Gary Neville is what the game is about. These days it's all about me this and me that and Instagram and all the other bs that unfortunately I don't think there's any way back from. Still it's so refreshing to hear a man this passionate because that's what it's all about, and that's unfortunately what the game is slowly losing. And yes, I agree, Gary Neville is by far the best guest on the Gary Neville podcast
As an Ipswich Town fan I fully understand what Gary Neville is saying. Like UTD Town was under poor ownership for best part of 15 years where the culture and fabric of the football club got neglected. Ipswich Got new owners almost 3 years ago now. The difference and the progression Ipswich have made since with good ownership and culture is so different.
@@LordHighnessit’s not the same coz despite Chelsea’s failures and lack of structure, the relationship between the owners and the manager is very aware of these shortcomings and are working to fix it,Uniteds owners are completely indifferent
Hey Gary, for the Buccaneers, Coaches (Raheem Morris, John Gruden) were constantly thrown under the bus. Talented players (Blount, Penn, etc.) left and become All-Pros at different teams. The Medical department was a joke, even though Tampa General is one of the best hospitals in the WORLD and is 15 minutes away......I wonder what the commonality between the Buccaneers and United is?
@kaeso6227 What has happened since then? A great player demanded investment into winning and they obliged for a little and it's back to the same mediocrity.
Absolutely spot on in everything he said as usual. I only wish his words were put into action! By far the best and most unbiased pundit on TV by a country mile. Even though he’s hurting bad like the rest of us are.
I appreciate Neville's passion for the Club and his assessment of what is wrong there isn't without merit. Having said that, the Owners biggest failure is in not hiring top management to guide the club. The Glazers bought this club in 2005 and during that time the Club has won 14 trophies. 10 of those 14 came under Ferguson and Gill and 5 of those were league titles. Over the last 10 years since Gill and Ferguson have left the team has won 4 trophies and no league title. The Owners are culpable without question but the biggest issue has been the executives and the Managers. The training ground, the stadium, the academy, etc are in dire need of repair, but as Peter Drury eluded to, those things don't directly effect who's playing, what system is being used and whether they are winning or not. If the Owners of City switched and took over United right now. United are not going to improve with what they currently have in Management and players. There is plenty of blame to go around and the Owners have a hugh part of it, but so do the various Managers and players. Moyes came to United with a small Club mentality and ideas which was never going to work with the Rio Ferdinand and Robin Van Persies of the world. LVG, style of passing , passing passing with little end product was always going to fail at a Club like United that like to play dynamic football. Mourinho was Ed Woodward's response to City hiring Pep and Jose's limited offensive system and his park the bus system was the anti United way and was never going to work. Ole came the closest to restoring the "United Way" but he forgot to bring his hairdryer. He let the standards slip and trust the players way, way too much and Ten Hag seems to be determined to play the so called "Modern Football" (or as I call it, playing like PEP), even though he doesn't have the players to do so....and he's in a league where other teams play it better. Instead of getting the best out of his players he's trying to get the players to get the best out of his system. And of course a lion's share of the blame goes to Ed Woodward, Matt Judge and now Richard Arnold for the Appointment of those Managers and over paying for the likes of Pogba, Maguire, Sancho, Antony, etc, etc, etc. And not keeping the likes of players like Andres Herrera, David De Gea or going out and getting quality players of skill and character like Harry Kane. Is there any doubt that if Gill and Ferguson were still around, that the likes of Jude Billingham, Harry Kane or Declan Rice and players of that ilk would be wearing Red. The whole thing is a mess but luckily, nothing last forever. Just wonder if it will take 27 years to win another title as it was between Busby and Ferguson.
Completely agree. But it's the Glazers who appointed Ed Woodward, Richard Arnold, etc. Additionally, the Glazer's have insisted on signing off on every deal, meaning that Richard Arnold has to get Avram to sign-off on signing a player. That's ridiculous - if you hire someone to run the club, trust them to run it.

The glazers didn’t pick maguire and evans over varane to try and deal with haaland. Ten Haag consistently makes bizarre decisions and I have no dogs in this race
Consistently? That's strange given he didn't change his back line much last season except when injuries occurred. The first choice back line are all out injured (Shaw, Martinez, AWB) or just returned from injury (Varane). Then there's the midfield who have also been injured (with exception of Fernandes, Eriksen & McTominay) at various points already this season too. Then there's the misfiring forward line. Hard to be consistent in terms of selection this season no? Haaland wasn't that much of a problem in this game, so potentially wasting Varane in this game if not 100% fit was foolish. The issues were the unfamiliarity of playing together and in the positions they had to play, the lack of ability on the ball from those that are 3rd choice or below, coupled with the way the team was set up (sat deep and were basically wanting to only allow City to play out in the wide channels) and were unable to consistently keep shape and on top of where City's players were. The press from the front opened up space in midfield or down the flanks since it wasn't cohesive.
"Finishing second with man united is my greatest achievement as a manager" Said a multiple champions league winning, multi league winning, top tier manager.. they blamed Moyes, they blamed Van Gaal, they blamed Mourinho.. only when Ole scraped a result against PSG did they finally wake up from the dream and see the theatre of nightmares
Neville is United through and through.. I'm so glad i grew up watching the 90's era..It's so gutting to see the once icon team i grew up to love be in this position.
United remind me of the UK. A former giant left to rot. Mismanagement at the top, poor investment, terrible facilities, leaking roofs - chugging along content with mediocrity living off pure reputation and former glory.
City are a joy to watch. Utd should've kept LVG. He was the only manager they've had who instilled a style of play and as dull as it could be, because he needed more transfer windows, there were periods where it was very impressive (eg. when they beat City, Spurs and Liverpool). He also won them their biggest trophy since Ferguson left. Utd were in quick fix mode tho when they needed to think longterm.
You've hit the nail on the head. LVG was impressive against other big teams. As those teams come onto you. His stale high possession style was no good against most of the league who don't come at you, particularly at OT. So it wasn't sustainable over a season where that is the majority of games.
It's hard to say whether it was LVG fault or the club like now - we regressed under him like we're regressing now under Ten Hag and it felt right to get rid of him at the time
@samwize28 I've always thought it. Banter means nothing. One of the big problems with the Glazers et al. at Utd is that they listen too much to the fans. It's more like a bunch of politicians.

They need to get better scouts who can find players who are willing to give 100% on the pitch and not 10%.
@eoinf2773 ferguson was the first victim of the glazers. The squad was already weakened by the time he left. Performances had been held together by his legacy, but there had been no squad.renewal for several years before he left.
Hey Gary Neville, please bring on Gary Neville on next weeks episode of the Gary Neville Podcast, he was an absolute pleasure on last weeks episode of the Gary Neville Podcast.
As an Arsenal supporter I love Gary Neville's passion for his club so much. (Hated him so much, when he played against us though!)
Totally agree with Gary, the players like Scholes, Bernado Silva, David Silva, Iniesta, Xavi. Players that control the pace of the game and dictate play. As a City fan, Scholes is my favourite United player ever.
I Agree.
Paul Scholes was one of My Favourite Manchester United Players too.
Same with David Beckham as well.
What a coup to be able to snag Gary Neville as a guest on the Gary Neville podcast. Just shows how much star power Gary Neville has. This guy should try out management some day.
He has, and look at how that ended 😂
You know the Gary Neville podcast is doing well when it can attract big name guests such as Gary Neville
Gary "at this moment in time" Neville
Gary 'hayley cropper' Neville
Gary “to be fair” Neville
i get what you're sayin mate but it's great to see gary neville on the gary neville podcast
Gary " I'll give you 1 hour to find out" Neville
So CR7 was actually right 😮
Seeing Gary Neville on the Gary Neville podcast makes me able to show my love for Gary Neville on the Gary Neville podcast
Well done Gary. You have nailed it. Couldn’t agree more.
Gary's a great stand in for the Gary Neville podcast, they should have him on a more regular basis
I'd love to see more podcasts with this gary neville fella
Tottenham right now is everything United want to be. Best stadium, training ground, fan experience in the prem and now the football is going in the right direction with an identity. Still way off Man City but Gary is right when you start from the foundations and go from there.
"Best fan experience". You haven't won a trophy in living memory lol.
So reactionnary, it's been 10 games lol
Man Utd is cursed since Man Utd fans sing some nonsense racism song 'eating dogs?' for Ji Sung Park. 😂
@@mike8631you think United fans are having a better fan experience than spurs fans at the minute?
@@bmcb3064 That's not what he said, he said Spurs had the best fan experience in the league at the moment. Tranmere rovers have a better fan experience than UTD at the moment. Its not that hard.
Good to see the comments saying ‘Good to see Gary Neville on the Gary Neville podcast’ on the Gary Neville podcast
Facilities matter when you share the same city with a team that has massively invested in infrastructure
@@nostalgeomusic it shows that you arent willing to do everything in your power to be better. It means you cut corners
@j.s3300 It's like blaming your kitchen for your lack of cooking skills...
@@nostalgeomusic no but a great chef wont want to work in a disgusting kitchen
Gary Neville is the only person in the world that I actually like and want to listen to on speaking about manchester united. Everything he says is absolutely bang on. I hope he continues to speak out about the Glazers and I know he will.
Just say *Man United.
It’s shorter.
Do ye see the rain coming through the roof behind Neville
Bernardo Silva maybe the most technically gifted player to ever grace the PL
I don't understand how you can blame the owners if the players are still getting their full pay cheques every week. Imagine how they would play if they gave them £100 a week instead.
The fans have the power to fix this now. They need to stop buying tickets for the games....But they won't.
Very nice of Gary Neville to take time out of his great pundit duties to be a guest in the Gary Neville Podcast. Top guy
The Gary Neville podcast is absolutely amazing, the variety of guests is unmatched.
i get what you're sayin mate but it's great to see gary neville on the gary neville podcast
Gary Neville really keeps me coming back to the Gary Neville Podcast
Spot on Gary …watching this Man U after 65 yrs of following is breaking my heart…..I tell my sons it wasn’t like this
It was in the 80's
As an Ipswich Town fan I fully understand what Gary Neville is saying. Like UTD Town was under poor ownership for best part of 15 years where the culture and fabric of the football club got neglected. Ipswich Got new owners almost 3 years ago now. The difference and the progression Ipswich have made since with good ownership and culture is so different.
He'd turn it into a hotel.
Hahahahhahaa
The Gary Neville podcast will never be the same without Gary Neville
The players have to accept that they're not a top 4 club anymore but have the aspirations to become that.
Exactly, same as Chelsea.
@@LordHighnessit’s not the same coz despite Chelsea’s failures and lack of structure, the relationship between the owners and the manager is very aware of these shortcomings and are working to fix it,Uniteds owners are completely indifferent
Sorry but the Sheffield Wednesday Fans have had it lots worse with their chairman
This is a great podcast - should be a bit longer
Just watch it twice!
Gary Neville is talking about excellence Peter.
Excellent analysis Gary.
Spot on Gary Neville.....The whole environment will have to change !
Can we get Gary Neville on next week?
Lol
If he doesn't turn it's the Glazers fault.
Gary is the best guest on the Gary Neville Podcast so far, please retain him in the future, great appearance!
I didn't even know Gary Neville would feature on the Gary Neville podcast. What a great surprise
As a United fan I can only cry at the current state of the club 😢.
Always impressed by the quality of guests on the Gary Neville podcast
You can’t spell the Gary Neville podcast without Gary Neville
Hey Gary, for the Buccaneers, Coaches (Raheem Morris, John Gruden) were constantly thrown under the bus. Talented players (Blount, Penn, etc.) left and become All-Pros at different teams. The Medical department was a joke, even though Tampa General is one of the best hospitals in the WORLD and is 15 minutes away......I wonder what the commonality between the Buccaneers and United is?
Which players have left united recently and been good though
Leeches of a kind I guess
Didn’t they just win a Super Bowl though?
@kaeso6227 What has happened since then? A great player demanded investment into winning and they obliged for a little and it's back to the same mediocrity.
Tbf no team called the buccaneers should ever win. Sounds like a kids tv show.
I could listen to this guy all day...✅️
Bruno Fernandes is such a bang average captain just like the mentality of the whole united squad
Absolutely spot on in everything he said as usual. I only wish his words were put into action! By far the best and most unbiased pundit on TV by a country mile. Even though he’s hurting bad like the rest of us are.
Gary, it doesn't matter how much Utd have spent - there is absolutely zero correlation between what a player cost and his ability.
Well said gary… just keep it up. You are the voice of us fans….❤
Well said. I’m glad you mentioned Herrera. I never understood why he was sold?
Completely agree. But it's the Glazers who appointed Ed Woodward, Richard Arnold, etc. Additionally, the Glazer's have insisted on signing off on every deal, meaning that Richard Arnold has to get Avram to sign-off on signing a player. That's ridiculous - if you hire someone to run the club, trust them to run it.
The leaky roof in the back… This is just art in video format. Glorious.
Nothing gives me happiness more than hearing the pain in this man’s voice.
@@johnfulco8313 it’s game week ten who’s celebrating anything 🤣 we peaked too early last season we ain’t out of first gear and still undefeated.. don’t worry about little arsenal.
glorified top 4 team nothing to show for it a couple of domestic cups and top 4 is nothing better than united have achieved. Win a title or the champions league otherwise you lot arent any better.
@@RandomVidReece Lmao, Arsenal fans are far FAR better off than United fans right now. At least Arsenal fans don't have their weekends ruined every other week. Wasting hours watching your team get embarrassed takes a toll on you whether you like it or not.
At the end of the day, that's what truly matters in football. What impact is your team having on your life?
Love his passion.
All these guest appearances by Gary Neville on The Gary Neville Podcast makes me think he should have his own podcast. He could call it The Gary Neville Podcast.
But he’d need a guest appearance from someone knowledgeable on football 😅
@@TooneTV-GironaLike the Glazers? 😂😂😂😂
We really need to be thankful for special times like this, a gaz neville appearance on the gaz neville pod.
"Finishing second with man united is my greatest achievement as a manager"
Said a multiple champions league winning, multi league winning, top tier manager.. they blamed Moyes, they blamed Van Gaal, they blamed Mourinho.. only when Ole scraped a result against PSG did they finally wake up from the dream and see the theatre of nightmares
the daniel radcliffe thing was funny tho I will give him that one 🤣
Neville is United through and through.. I'm so glad i grew up watching the 90's era..It's so gutting to see the once icon team i grew up to love be in this position.
Yes i agree Gary: The glazers failed to mark Haaland at the far post mate 🤦♂️
They hired the dopes that thought signing Harry Mcguire for 85m was a good idea and bringing back Evans, etc... they have no plan.
Big ideas for somebody who couldn't last a season at Valencia.
United remind me of the UK. A former giant left to rot. Mismanagement at the top, poor investment, terrible facilities, leaking roofs - chugging along content with mediocrity living off pure reputation and former glory.
Bravo to Gary Neville for appearing on the Gary Neville podcast for the past 12 to 18 months.
Gary turning into Harry hill😂😂
Leakage in the background from the roof pretty much sums up the dire state in which ManU is. What a disgrace!
Gary “at this moment in time” Neville
i get what you're sayin mate but it's great to see gary neville on the gary neville podcast
When Garry Neville speaks the fact
We love Garry he’s are voice!!! Legend
