From start to finish...the brother directing this film with his father in it did a smooth job with this scene. Romance, tragic fatal violence, emotional traumatic loss, guilty despair and finally redemption. Beautifully pieced together with this smooth jazz as a backdrop. Ahhhhh the 90's!!!!
The most emotional scene in the movie. Stanley Clarke's music helps us feel the storyline in a meaningful way. Wesley Snipes is smooth in this movie, especially when he's "Just Crusin'" in his corvette to the luncheon. Favorite part.
As a dark skin growing up with the notion that I'm unattractive I've always seen Wesley Snipes as a role model. The authority and confidence he conveys on this movie makes me confident in myself. He's an OG no doubt
Facts, him, Denzel, Michael Jordan, Tyrese Gibson paved the way for us dark skinned for dating world. Now latinas, Asians, Becky's etc crave us nowadays 💯😎☕🍩
I remember as a kid watching this scene over and over and over again. I asked my mom " what does he do, i want to do that!" Snipes presence, the car,his confidence to walk in a country club as the only black man unquestioned and not only to be unquestioned, he didnt give one care in the world about the whos whos that was in there. It was business. Bravo Wesley! One scene motivated me in ways you'll never know
I remember when they showed Passenger 57 on TV, it was on CBS, their was an extended scene of this scene right before the camera goes to Cutter thinking about his wife, the camera shows you pictures and portraits of him and his wife, including of their wedding. Even John's friend Deviciho is in some of the photos too.
I love everything about the way he walks through that restaurant. He just looks so bad ass and confident even though he’s trying to hide his emotional pain. I thought Wesley Snipes was so cool when I was a kid 😅 He still is 😂
This scene is a contrast on how the human condition dictates we approach trauma or pain in life and how 2 people deal with their pain the incorrect way and the correct way. Rain deals with his stuff by hurting others and making them suffer the way he did as a child and Cutter could easily deal with his pains that way but he chooses to keep centered and square with the architect
I just seen this dude who shot her on the carnival sensation In the punchliner Comedy club... he was funny, he mentioned he did this movie during his show. 💯 got to check your comedy central now.
Around this time Wesley and Denzel were neck and neck with some saying Wesley was slightly ahead, then Denzel pulled away with Spike Lee and completely got away from Wes later. Early 90s was a great time for Wesley Snipes films.
I remember on a scene from "True Lies" when a terrorist put a gun to Harry's wife's head while he was killing the bad guys and the guy told him to drop the gun, and without looking, Harry shoots dude right in the head without even scarring his wife. I really wish John Cutter knew that technique. Although, that movie wasn't made until 1994 so, I'm js
In the 1999 Anime "Cowboy Bebop" Spike shoots a thug in his forehead holding Faye hostage and holding a 45 to her head. She doesn't even break a sweat as the Thug's blood splatters on her cheek.
Gotta love how the guy blew her head off and just took off running.. like it was no big deal at all.. like he thought he was actually going to get away with what he just did or something.. WRONG!!!!! lmao.
@@AliJehReik Yeah, unfortunately (fortunately for us), criminals don’t use, or completely lack common sense. Had he taken your suggestion, he would have gotten away, and not have killed someone. But, he had be foolish, do it his way, and ended up paying for it, lol.
Sadly today he would almost certainly get away with it. (In)justice system is absolutely fucked beyond repair or recognition There's no hope these days. Even a scene like this probably wouldn't be filmed
Now this was another great 90's Wesley Snipes movie! That flashback scene was just tragic, if that guy had gotten away Cutter would've been obsessed with revenge in trying to find him and then kill him as he did here. Also I loved that scene with the red corvette and the jazzy saxophone music!
My Favorite movie as a kid, seeing a Black Man on screen kicking ass. Also, this movie taught me to always be armed wherever I go, especially as Black Man.
Am I tripping, or does it seem like his car goes the "wrong" way around the loop when he arrives at the restaurant? I would expect him to come in on the right, but he drives around to the left
When i was a kid at my grandma's house the tv was on and glancing at the old ass shitty crt screen i saw this exact scene and i couldn't believe this black gentlemen was 0:03 holding his meat with both hands, while meditating...
As a young man, I was like "fuck that robber" but now I think Wesley made the mistake. I can guarantee the robber just wanted to steal money and be gone, no one gets hurt, but when Snipes tried to intervene two lives were lost.
@@kevindavis296 😲 I see, so the robbers life doesn't count anymore, he doesn't possess a soul? Because in the grand scheme of things his life is just as valuable as hers, he was just finding it difficult for the moment. I remember watching this movie as a kid and this scene stood out, when he’s driving his car and the song is playing, loved the song since!

the entire soundtrack stood out for me. glad my grandmother loved SNIPES. lol. would have prolly never heard it
