Never got a chance to meet him when I lived in Maine, but knew folks there that had met him. Worked on an organic farm once in Maine. The farmer grew up as a Quaker and I learned to take care of sheep and grow organically.
I started watching Gardening Naturally with Eliot Coleman and Barbara Damrosch some 30 - 35 yrs ago on PBS here in the states. Oh my goodness, I saw that episode were they showed carrots growing in a hoop house, after they trudged thru knee high snow to get to it, I never forgot that episode, well I remember several =^)
