I am really enjoying this episode. I love the authenticity of your dad. Most other people are buying the flashing things or the biggest things. Yet the most down-to-earth message from this video, "If I have a tractor with no A/C then I might as well not have a cab at all".

I just watched a man and his dad buy a piece of land and a tractor for 28 minutes and it felt like 5 minutes at most.
This is so nice to see. My dad is almost 85 and a farmer his entire life. I would love to play Farm Sim with him. But, he barely knows how to use a smartphone. Still though, this is nice. I'm really happy for the two of you. God bless you both.
You could maybe try to get together with him or at least stream this game and he could watch and give his input. That way he doesn't have to play himself but you can sorta do it with him

Your pops is sharp he knows the numbers on per acre. I love how he is using real life to this game.
I got a few questions that would pickle my tickle if they could be answered without disrespecting either of you two in the video without revealing personal info that would cause issues.
1st question does Pops play video games regularly?
2nd question about how old is Pops?
3rd did pops finish school or attend college.
***Both my parents grew up in the 60's and graduating high school wasn't as common as it is now. Neither one of my parents finished high school. My mom quit in 11th grade and my dad quit in the 7th or 8th grade. My mom was a stay at home wife. My dad worked the coal mines with his dad without being on paper. Then when my dad was legal to work he got hired on full time. My dad met my mom after 3 kids and a ex-husband. They got married and had two kids of their own. My dad worked 42 years under ground in the mines and divorced after 36 years. ***
I guess I shared that to say I understand times was different and finishing high school wasn't as important as it is now. It wasn't as easy to get to school as it is now let alone finish school. I'm asking because I want to know if Pops got so smart by the system or hands on?
When Pops told Son to be careful on their way home I think he said that out of being a parent and I literally felt that myself.

Did you check out the basement in the house? check the garage for a door! Not sure if you meant to not download the Taheton mod pack so you can get the extra buildings on your land. Really makes it look official and brings the many areas around the map together!

This is this best simulation. An actual successful farmer going through the thought process of investing in a farm. Looking at the drainage, potential flooding etc. This video series is going to rock so long as @mrpapapickle remains interested.
In the game I usually just buy the plot right next to the house, it doesn't really make a difference in the simulation.
I took one look at the terrain and said "Holy shit its fucking Winterset!" where my grandparents live btw. Also I spent the whole video following along on google Earth. I will note that the area you are looking at had drought four out of the last ten years, and the creeks are really low catchment areas so flooding doesn't happen at all.

It never even occured to me that flat land is bad, I know when I bought my house I looked for house on hill because growing up my dad told me that you want that, but I didn't know it was same for farm land
