The best. Donna was above and beyond every other singer of the era. Songs like this bring tears to my eyes when I think about the times I heard her in concert and her voice was PERFECT. No auto tune or layering. She will always be the greatest in my mind. Rest in peace, Donna!
When singers die, I just usually shrug my shoulders and say "well, that's the way it goes". But not with Donna. The more I listen to her music, the more I miss her. And although Michael Jackson was great, I feel much bigger pain for Donna's passing. God Bless Her.
I feel the same way. I remember my reaction when i heard the news of both, but Donna's passing was a TOTAL SHOCK. So much talent to leave us so soon. Rest in Peace Donna and Michael, and so many other gifted artists we lost way too early.
When an artist passes away, I am the same way "oh well, that's sad, but hey that's life." Only two artists' passing actually made me stop and cry when I heard it (thank God both times I happened to be home alone) Both were just a few short months apart from each other. Donna Summer, then just like 3 months later, Whitney Houston. My childhood ran from the peak of Donna's reign on the charts to the beginning of Whitney's career. It felt like a part of me actually died, because just like your childhood losing talent like them is something you can never get back.
It did in Philadelphia where I lived, and up in New York where my cousins lived, and out in LA where my father lived. I spent 1979 in all three places. lol It was a hit for sure in the big cities in the US.
The amazing thing behind Donna's music from this era .Was well produced .It stood above the rest . To me Donna Summer & The Bee Gees & Chic were the cream of the crop
Still get goosebumps all these years later. So grateful to have lived when all this magic was made. Donna was the voice that could never be replicated. God Bless Donna
The cat kept the drive alive, even for over 9 minutes!! Been listening to a lot of Donna Summer (again) lately, and man could that girl sing, and not only in the studio....
This is an absolutely stunning revelation! I never knew Brooklyn Dreams cut this track. This is 9-plus minutes of chill bumps mixed with rump shaking. I feel like I've died and gone to heaven. Thanks for another fantastically seamless remix!
Being out on the Disco dancefloor with the lights flashing and me engrossed into this track is what I never forget, no one knew this much back then in the UK, Brooklyn dreams sound suited with Donna vocals.
2000, She was the first act for the grand opening of the Beau Rivage Hotel Casino here in Biloxi Mississippi. I sat 5th row center. It was a fantastic show. For the finale she sang Last Dance Towards the end of the show, I ran to the edge of the stage and threw my right hand straight up in the air. She noticed and walked over to me and reached down . she then Locked her fingers in to mine. I'll never forget that. She's always had this special "Magic" about her. She is greatly missed. ❤
Great pop disco song perfectly produced and then mixed with this 2 in 1 version. Donna was not just another disco star but the first international feminine star in history of popular music with a such powerful voice reigning suprem in charts not only in the local US market but worldwild, far ahead masculine pop/rock stars or bands. The next to come were madonna, withney, maria, celine, beyoncé, rihanna, ariana. A lot of ending A isn't hit? 1979 was her triumph year, her beauty and her success were at their highest. By the way, 79, she found true love but heaven already knew that

Michael Jackson is up there with Donna Summer as great singers. So is Diana Ross, I’m aware Diana Ross isn’t dead

HEAVEN!
How WONDERFUL! YAYYYYYY
love all your re-mixes!!! this is my fav Donna Summer song!!
Vastly underrated as a supreme vocalist. Folks simply heard “disco” and dismissed her outright. A real shame. She belongs in the R&R Hall of Fame.
I love the way that you smash both versions together. Now that's a disco mix!
Lead singer is married to Donna.
My favourite disco compilation ever, just love it to bits! X
Danced to this at the Chez Paree in AC all night long. Late 70's to early 80's.
Pure Heaven
